This place was bad and that is being nice. The place was dirty and they didn't even wipe counters up properly in between stays or properly make the bed, they just half assed tucked the end in. The breakfast was a total joke and they couldn't even keep hot coffee in stock. If there was someone around at the desk or by the breakfast area they were on the phone totally ignoring the guests and would leave without checking on anything. They said they ran out of coffee to stock the rooms with but there would always be hot coffee in the breakfast area but that was a lie. The only hot coffee I had was the pot I made myself one day. They also were very stingy on stocking the soap we ran out one day and they barely gave you any shampoo and no conditioner. I stayed there 3 nights while taking in the sites of the area then went out to Yellowstone for a few days, then stayed at the Days Inn in Spearfish one night on the way back and that place was like paradise for the same money.
The carpets were dirty. But most of all the continental breakfast very disgusting. A fowl sour smell with flies everywhere, to the point that we didn't want anything. There were rotten bananas out for the fruit. There was no regular coffee in the room and was told they were out.
Not that many choices in the town. This was a very good value. And was slightly above average.
We meet relatives there who booked earlier that got a better rate than us. Our rate was adjusted lower to be more in-line with theirs, but not as low. Both of us were charged $1.50/day for a safe fee which we didnt know was extra. Our shower curtain had mold on the bottom of it. The breakfast was minimal. The main level lobby had old furniture in it that felt like and was used by the owner/managers and families living room vs guest seating/meeting area. Therefore guests congregated outside instead.
We only stayed one night for a stopover so we only wanted clean and convenient. That's what this hotel is. Lose to the interstate and town for meals. Breakfast was ver continental and can't say the coffee was good. But it served our purpose.
I recently had a brief stay in Sturgis, SD. Mina and Manny went out of their way to make me and my daughter feel totally welcome. The hotel and room were clean and comfortable and the town of Sturgis has so much to see and do that I am looking forward to return with my wife for a much longer visit.
The room was short on amenities relative to the price. No fridge or microwave, coffeepot missing. The room wasn't cleaned thoroughly enough. The manager mis-keyed our room payment as $8490.00, and though he credited it back right away, our credit card was maxed out for a couple of days and we weren't told that it happened.
Days Inn Sturgis. I booked on priceline, and then drove 45 minutes to this place. When I got there, they were over booked! However Manny came through for me, he had one special room available which was the suite with the jetted tub and kitchenette. It was a more expensive room, but he gave it to me for a great deal, and later on that night, I woke him up looking for a tylenol. Even though I woke him up, and was a pain initially he got up and found a pain pill for me with a smile on his face. Oh, and the room was nice and clean as well.
Stayed here the week after the motorcycle rally. Nice touch giving towels for cleaning boots and motorcycles. The hotel was located across the street from a dealership that I needed to visit. The hotel is aging but was clean and a comfortable place to stay. Everybody was very friendly, the staff was really great. The included breakfast is very limited, toast, coffee and cereal that's it. You're better off walking to Burger King two doors down the street. No refrigerator, I would have bought food to have in the room. I had to unplug the alarm clock and a lamp in order to have enough electrical outlets to charge phones and a tablet, that's pretty standard with an older hotel though. I would stay here again when I'm back in Sturgis.
Perfect location right off I90. Room was clean and bed was comfortable. The staff was very friendly and helpful.
