How to start.. it was a nightmare! DO NOT BOOK THIS HOTEL!!!! Dirty and unhealthy place for children. So what they do; they overbook and let the hell brake loose at the checkin knowing that people would get pissed and leave--- by the end of the day, the hotel is packed and people like us with children and elders were just casualties of another day in business. For this dishonest establishment is all math. In other words; They "triple book" the hotel so they guarantee that all rooms will be full and don't care about nothing else --- pure bad faith and they know that nothing will happen because the Israeli Tourism department don't crack down bad business such as this one. I got to the hotel with my children, wife and grandparents at the checkin time and was told that my rooms were not ready --- five hours later "still without room" I see a tour group coming in and getting their rooms with no problem --- off course, they had a contract with the hotel and are big money for them. Meanwhile people like you or me are just a little problem they had to deal with. And believe me, it wasn't just me! There were at least another 50 couples and family screaming and fighting in the lobby for not having their rooms. Also, another guests coming down complaining about the dirtiness of their room and for not having towels --- by the way the hotel ran out of towels! This supposed to be a five star hotel guys and I paid top money. In my miserable 5 hours in this place I witnessed a dirty and nasty pool area with children dippers and garbage all over the place.... In the pool bar the cook was so overwhelmed by the amount of people that he was throwing burgers and hot dogs in the deep fryer "with the French fries in the basket" and the and serving people --- talk about food contamination!!! I got raw fried cutlets and had to throw in the garbage afraid that my kids could get sick. But what got me really mad of was the dishonesty and disrespect with my family. When I asked for my refund the manager lied to me for another hour telling me that my room was ready to stall for more time --- literally lied to us and I had elders in my group. At this entire time they offered us free coffee and cake instead to try to accommodate us in another hotel or help us. So after exhausting 5 hours, tired and hungry I got my refund and I had to drive back with my family to Tel Aviv and we were not able to enjoy the wonders of the Dead Sea. Guys please AVOID THIS HOTEL specially if you have children. We traveled all over the world and believe me; I am not a spoiled brat and I do understand that things happen but I NEVER experienced nothing like that in a hotel! Trust me, get as far as you can from the Leonardo Plaza Dead Sea!
Hotel not equipped to deal with children I ordered a crib had to wait with my baby in my arms till 10 pm they kept on saying they were going to bring it but didn't. Old trying to be redone Air condition broke it was 100 degrees out my room was hot at 6 am till 10
Although this hotel has very nice features to take advantage of them you must jump through hoops to utilize the services. First. The parking situation is incredible. Since this is a large hotel where one would assume most people must drive to, there was not nearly enough parking. After waiting 2 hours we were lucky enough to find someone leaving and we finally got a spot. Second. Towels at the pool. Came at 10 am 3 people in the pool. Not a towel to be found. Came at 5 pm not a towel to be found. Third. The pool. Was told the pool is open until 730. After a long hot day we could not wait to jump in the pool. After 2 hour wait for parking and 30 minutes for towels. Took my shirt off. Put one foot towards the pool and they closed it at 6. They told us pool would reopen at 8. Came at 8 told us would open at 830. Finally was able to jump in the pool. Which was great. The party was really nice with refreshments and entertainment. Fourth. The room. Our bathroom ceiling had a leak and dripped water all night long soaking the bathroom floor and keeping us with the constant dripping. Fifth : The food. The staff was great worked hard and the food was plentiful and tasty. Conclusion. Hotel has nice features but management fails to accommodate the guests.
This is an excelent hotel, good rooms, good people, Excelent Dead Sea view. The Dead Sea is across the street of the hotel.Good hotel restautant and room service. The hotel is in excelent conditions. You will see the Dead Sea from your room.
I spent a week in the Leonadro Plaza and enjoyed it immensely. The hotel was fully booked, so there was a lot of people and waits for the elevator, jacuzzi, sulfar pools and food... but despite that, it was a great vacation. The room was fair enough (although I hate the fact that they have a separate room for the toilet), but they need to be remodeled. The view of the Sea was spectacular, the service was friendly enough, and the food was AMAZING!! I will hopefully go back there this winter again!
The experience was fine but for the same price I would go somewhere else. The hotel was fully booked and understaffed which means that check in and check out took an extremely long time (about 20 minutes waiting), the public areas were not very clean and well kept. The room was not so clean (a few hairs in the shower, dust under the beds). There was a huge variety of food during the meals but none of it was actually very good. The pool staff (lifeguards) and entertainment staff were outstanding with the children. The Shabbat food at the pool was not edible. Next time I will choose a different hotel for the same price range.
Been in the hotel with my wife and two kids It is better to get to the check in at 13:00 because after that the pressure is high and the check in is very long. The room is clean and the hotel is well orginized . The pool area is big and there is space for many people. Breakfast and dinner is good with many kind of food but its better to get early or near closing time because the area is small and you can feel the pressure . We are number of "shamaim" club so we had all kind of treats in the room and even had place kept on friday evening I can recomend this hotel for all the family
The views are great, but the hotel and staff were terrible. They don't have staff to accommodate English speaking guests and staff was rude. Bartender couldn't even speak broken English and was hateful. Air conditioning didn't work well enough to cool the rooms, in room refrigerator didn't work, and food was just mediocre with dishes and utensils filthy. Find another hotel.
Very nice experience. Room was fine ( no balcony but that was our choice) Dead Sea view, what could be bad. Meals were very good. Hotel staff very attentive. There was some minor confusion over reservation upon arrival and some minor issue with the final bill. All resolved quickly and professional by the desk attendant Dianah and the manager Eli. Hotel facility is well maintained, public areas very neat and clean. Spa is well appointed and the staff very professional. We will consider another stay.
We arrived at midday in Shabbat. Coming after a very busy working week in Tel Aviv ready for some relaxing spa , massage and salty Dead Sea floating... At reception nobody even offered to help with luggage and when we approached the desk we were informed that they did not have any room available " for the moment" and we should leave our luggage and wait in the lobby .we did so and left the luggage in an unattended room , next to an elevator used by cleaning staff.of course no identification tickets either as nobody was there to receive our luggage. Waited in the lobby and approached the reception desk again , this time they told us there was one room available that had to be cleaned , so we waited another hour expecting to finally get our room , but it didn't happen either .. By then , two hours have passed with a 40 C degrees and our lunch time forgotten . Without loosing our temper yet we asked again for our room and we were informed that " nobody said there was an empty room" as we were absolute liers even the receptionist agreed that " nobody said that! " , by now we asked to speak to the manager... Sabrine came , we explained the situation , it was nearly 3 :00 so she said she will help us find a room , so , we waited again , hot , hungry, annoyed ... But ! To our amazement she had gone to have lunch at the cafeteria while we waited for the room ! Without explanation! So this time we went to the reception again and asked to make a new booking in Eilat where we were going to stay for two days before flying back home , of course no. Never again in the Leonardo Plaza , which by the way in the photo doesn't show but it is not by the sea ,but you have to take a bus to the sea which runs every 15 minutes but the last one is at 6:00 pm We were then informed that BECAUSE ITS SHABBAT people CAN CHECK OUT AT 6:00 pm So the room could only be available after 6:00 pm up to MIDNIGHT! Meaning they knew this all the time but they only told us at the end when our patience was finished! So we called the Dan hotel in Eilat, in Hebrew they said that we were very annoying clients , to which we replied , as we understand Hebrew , that the annoying and disrespectful were them, and not us ,because they lied to us all the time ! A hotel where we were going to pay over $300 dollars a night ... Left for Eilat were we had reservation for the next day , took our luggage and left . NEVER EVER AGAIN ARRIVE ON SHABBAT ! And watch out the HOTEL IS NOT BY THE BEACH !
