Enjoyed our visit. Very quaint, great location, restaurants, bars, boutiques, and spa within walking distance. Rooms were very comfortable. The bathroom was very small, yet the shower head with a "rain" effect and several other options made up for the lack of bathroom space. I would definitely vacation here again.
We were meeting friends who travel to New Smyrna Beach every year and had driven by the Riverview. Since we live near the beach in southwest Florida, that wasn't a huge attraction for us. What a discovery staying at the Riverview. From the moment we checked in, we were warmly welcomed (and it just happened to be wine & cheese hour and within about 30 seconds, a glass of wine was in my hand! #Dream) If you're looking for all the bells and whistles of a new hotel, this is not your spot - and how refreshing to see a "Quiet Policy" past 10pm. Thank you staff - and darling little Arden at the front desk - for your hospitality! We had a fabulous weekend!
You can copy your review below: Love the location, the wonderful front desk staff, the kind service from those ladies that cleaned our room and brought our morning breakfasts. The hotel is quaint with many updated features. Wow, what a great shower...never saw one like that. The restaurant is one of the best in New Smyrna, and the happy hour is perfect for the sunset hour. We stay at the Riverview as it is on our A-list!!!!
Though we only stayed one night this precious hotel had everything we could hope for. Warm and welcoming staff, a charming room with everything for our comfort, a spa where I had the best facial ever, and breakfast brought to our room. Plus the restaurant next door, overlooking the Intercoastal Canal. I am telling friends to consider this as a destination.
When you stay in an historic hotel, there may be some places where it shows some age, or otherwise lacks some features of modern hotel rooms. But as long as the room is comfortable and the price reasonable, this is the charm of staying in these types of boutique properties. Having said that, we found the Riverview to be very comfortable. The hotel is right on the river, and was originally built in 1885 in a Victorian style. The beach is a 5 minute drive or 15 minute walk away. Our room was small, but the bed was very comfortable and the room nicely furnished. It had a large flat screen TV. The bathroom was also small, but fine for us with a tiled shower. The room overlooked the nice pool (some overlook the river), and it was a lovely day to have our breakfast on the room's large balcony. Parking is free and on site. Although the spaces were full, there is a valet parking site with additional spaces, but we just parked right next door at the related spa. A free continental breakfast (you make choices) is brought up to your room, and once again it was fine for us. The lobby area of the hotel is fairly small, but it seems as if there might be enough room for a continental buffet in the lobby. In any case, you can always take your breakfast down from your room to the pool area which has some nice tables. Numerous restaurants are within walking distance, including a good one right next door with waterfront dining. Another perk of staying here is that free bikes are offered. We found the price to be reasonable, and overall had a lovely stay.
This hotel is old and if it has been refurbished it was done many many years ago. It was old, dirty and hugely overpriced. We would never stay there again. Thew room had no closet and the bath sink had some rust around fixtures. The only positive was the breakfast, cookies, and snacks.
Every room is decorated different and very clean, great experience, great place to relax for the weekend or longer, spa is on location too, nice quite area next to intercoastal, restaurants are all in walking distance and beach is about one mile walk away with lots of shops on the way there too
Picture perfect, quaint historic Inn. Very comfortable beds. Well appointed rooms. Great facilities. Outdoor pool with rooms over-looking. Heated in-door pool available for use in Spa. Excellent waterfront dining. Some river view rooms. All with balconies. Basic continental breakfast delivered each morning to your room. Excellent service and friendly, helpful staff. Very clean. Cookies, apples, and tea and coffee available in lobby, around the clock. This is a historic building, so do not expect elevators, expansive rooms, or fully sound-proof walls. Free bikes for use by guests. Free wifi. Flat screen TV in rooms. L'Occitaine toiletries provided. Turn down service with chocolates; and fresh towels mid- day, at request. I loved my stay, and plan to visit again.
This small quaint hotel is by far one of our favorite places for a short romantic getaway. The rooms are uniquely and beautifully decorated. The staff is always friendly and accommodating. The amenities always add a special touch. The Riverview Spa is amazing and the Riverview Grill restaurant is just as good !!! We go here at least twice a year and wish we could go twice a month! The location is very convenient and in such a great area of NSB. Seriously...we just love it here!
Sweet location for lunch and dinner. They were setting up for a small wedding and the room looked lovely. We had lunch in their open air, covered dining room, over looking the water. Lots of boats fishing and birds diving for fish to watch.
