Picture perfect, quaint historic Inn. Very comfortable beds. Well appointed rooms. Great facilities. Outdoor pool with rooms over-looking. Heated in-door pool available for use in Spa. Excellent waterfront dining. Some river view rooms. All with balconies. Basic continental breakfast delivered each morning to your room. Excellent service and friendly, helpful staff. Very clean. Cookies, apples, and tea and coffee available in lobby, around the clock. This is a historic building, so do not expect elevators, expansive rooms, or fully sound-proof walls. Free bikes for use by guests. Free wifi. Flat screen TV in rooms. L'Occitaine toiletries provided. Turn down service with chocolates; and fresh towels mid- day, at request. I loved my stay, and plan to visit again.
This small quaint hotel is by far one of our favorite places for a short romantic getaway. The rooms are uniquely and beautifully decorated. The staff is always friendly and accommodating. The amenities always add a special touch. The Riverview Spa is amazing and the Riverview Grill restaurant is just as good !!! We go here at least twice a year and wish we could go twice a month! The location is very convenient and in such a great area of NSB. Seriously...we just love it here!
Sweet location for lunch and dinner. They were setting up for a small wedding and the room looked lovely. We had lunch in their open air, covered dining room, over looking the water. Lots of boats fishing and birds diving for fish to watch.
We booked online as the photos and descriptions were wonderful and just what we wanted - we travelled from Europe, looking forward to staying in an old world hotel close to the river. First impression was that the hotel was at the side of a big modern bridge, with busy traffic. Upon entering the hotel there was a strong smell of what resembled some type of perfumed cleaning product. This odour also greeted us in our room - which was very small with barely space to store our large suitcases ( we had intended to stay here for 8 nights). Storage was totally inadequate for us - two tiny wardrobes, one containing an ironing board and Iron so it was a massive challenge to find space when unpacking. But we persevered. The red-walled room seemed shabby and dark and then we encountered the balcony - which is just one long balcony with no privacy. And the view - a shabby swimming pool and a busy parking area with noisy trucks and cars . As we sat on the balcony, trying to make sense of what the appeal of this place might be we heard a generator ( or some sort of device) making a constant loud noise. Here's the scenario, we were jet-lagged and in need of rest but no hope at this stage. I went to reception to ask the person at the desk if we could change rooms as we were staying 8 nights and had booked 10 months in advance ( yes, 10 months!!). The person advised that it was a busy weekend ( yes, understood) and nothing was available but he would check. He later offered us a room, just underneath the one we were currently in - same view, same noise? Oh and he advised that the noise would stop at 5pm - not much comfort to us . We left for dinner as we could not face an evening in that room. Later we searched for another hotel or B&B and lucky for us we found an amazing establishment which allowed us experience all that we had hoped to experience for our stay at New Smyrna. I do not like to give poor reviews so have thought a lot about this one before posting but on reviewing the photos and marketing of this hotel i have to say that what we experienced and our first impressions were not what was depicted online. We left knowing that we would not be comfortable in this place for 8 nights and were frustrated that the management, knowing that we would be spending 8 nights there, had not even considered that a bigger room with a better view might be more appropriate. Bottom line, we were in a shabby room, with not enough space for both of us to comfortably walk around, nowhere to stow two large suitcases, little storage space for clothing, awful views, a bathroom with rusting faucets, and nowhere to stow toiletries. Maybe this establishment works for one night but certainly not for a long stay and definitely not for us.
We loved everything about it. Old world charm, clean, great sheets and towels, coffee and cookies available for late night snacks, breakfast delivery to your room to enjoy on the terrace, and more wonderful touches. We found this by accident, and loved our stay here. Didn't trust their restaurant or spa (yes they have those, too), but we will on our next little visit. Great that we can walk down Flagler to the beach. At least 4 bars with live music at night. Such a cute town.
We unfortunately only stayed here for 1 night, I did wish it was longer. The hotel is beautiful. We stayed in room 318 at the front of the hotel and it was lovely. The shower was fantastic. Will definitely be back for a longer stay next time.
We loved the appearance and feel of the hotel. It was a nice change from the standard franchises one meets along the way. The pool was very nice and water refreshingly warm. Wifi worked just fine. The breakfast is served into the room only and one can eat it out on a balcony which is a nice touch. What was really great that all cosmetic amenities provided by the hotel are from Loccitane - our favourite brand of nature cosmetics. The drawback of the great location by the river is the fact that it is right next to the lifting bridge and specifically the segment of the bridge that moves makes a laud disturbing noise whenever car goes over it. This goes right into the room. We weren't happy about the bed which seemed too old and worn out resulting into a small pit in the middle of it making it unconfortable.
Just returned from a lovely Mother/Daughter weekend at the Riverview Hotel to celebrate my mother's birthday. We were simply delighted with the charm of this historic hotel. Well appointed rooms, very comfortable beds and wonderful staff. Kudos to Dennis and Maddie who went over and above to make us feel so welcome. I had read reviews that some guests were disappointed with the small breakfast. If you are looking for a full breakfast, you will not find one here. We had fruit parfaits, a muffin and coffee delivered to our room and it was very good. I would much rather enjoy the luxury of a breakfast delivered and enjoying it on our balcony rather than going out for a big breakfast any day! Be sure to book a massage at the Riverview Spa and enjoy a wonderful dinner at the Riverview Grill - both did not disappoint.
Wanting to check out a new Beach town in Florida we landed in New Symrna Beach at the Riverview Hotel for the weekend. We found ourselves delighted at the cozy atmosphere and breakfast delivered to your door every morning. The front desk staff was polite and helpful with all of our questions. Quiet hours are after 10pm which is perfect. Bike rentals included. Walking distance to many good bars and restaurants on Flagler. We will be back!
Recently refurbished inside, the hotel is very charming, comfortable and reasonable. Yes, breakfast is small but so what? There are so many great places to brunch, lunch and dine it's a shame to miss them! The spa is fantastic as is the Grille. Live music Saturday night and a very good wine list. Perfect service in a fun atmosphere.. please try it all you won't be sorry,
