We unfortunately only stayed here for 1 night, I did wish it was longer. The hotel is beautiful. We stayed in room 318 at the front of the hotel and it was lovely. The shower was fantastic. Will definitely be back for a longer stay next time.
We loved the appearance and feel of the hotel. It was a nice change from the standard franchises one meets along the way. The pool was very nice and water refreshingly warm. Wifi worked just fine. The breakfast is served into the room only and one can eat it out on a balcony which is a nice touch. What was really great that all cosmetic amenities provided by the hotel are from Loccitane - our favourite brand of nature cosmetics. The drawback of the great location by the river is the fact that it is right next to the lifting bridge and specifically the segment of the bridge that moves makes a laud disturbing noise whenever car goes over it. This goes right into the room. We weren't happy about the bed which seemed too old and worn out resulting into a small pit in the middle of it making it unconfortable.
Just returned from a lovely Mother/Daughter weekend at the Riverview Hotel to celebrate my mother's birthday. We were simply delighted with the charm of this historic hotel. Well appointed rooms, very comfortable beds and wonderful staff. Kudos to Dennis and Maddie who went over and above to make us feel so welcome. I had read reviews that some guests were disappointed with the small breakfast. If you are looking for a full breakfast, you will not find one here. We had fruit parfaits, a muffin and coffee delivered to our room and it was very good. I would much rather enjoy the luxury of a breakfast delivered and enjoying it on our balcony rather than going out for a big breakfast any day! Be sure to book a massage at the Riverview Spa and enjoy a wonderful dinner at the Riverview Grill - both did not disappoint.
Wanting to check out a new Beach town in Florida we landed in New Symrna Beach at the Riverview Hotel for the weekend. We found ourselves delighted at the cozy atmosphere and breakfast delivered to your door every morning. The front desk staff was polite and helpful with all of our questions. Quiet hours are after 10pm which is perfect. Bike rentals included. Walking distance to many good bars and restaurants on Flagler. We will be back!
Recently refurbished inside, the hotel is very charming, comfortable and reasonable. Yes, breakfast is small but so what? There are so many great places to brunch, lunch and dine it's a shame to miss them! The spa is fantastic as is the Grille. Live music Saturday night and a very good wine list. Perfect service in a fun atmosphere.. please try it all you won't be sorry,
Checked in at 3 to 2 very comfortable rooms across from each other. I called ahead to ask for a room not on the first floor and 2 rooms close together. This was accommodated nicely. We were on the corner with a room with a double bed with very small balcony overlooking the grill and river and a king room with large balcony overlooking the beautiful pool area. The small balcony was tight but my parents liked it. The larger balcony could fit a lounger, 2 chairs and a coffee table and was much roomier. Rooms are much smaller than more modern building hotels but very comfortable nonetheless. Air condition unit worked nicely and was quiet. At over 220 for their most basic room I thought cost was high. Breakfast is not sufficient but a nice thought. We had no problem with parking our one car.
This Hotel is very Charming, the Staff is friendly and the pool area is wonderful. The room was small and the design was the best use of a small room that I have ever seen. The room had everything I needed. The room was clean and updated. The service and "turn down service" is something like you would get at a Hotel costing hundreds more a night. In addition, they have very high end soaps and shampoo in the room. I will be returning!!
What a charming hotel! Located on the river, and shaded by old oak trees, the ocean is just a few short blocks away. Suite 10 on the second floor, overlooking the river, has plenty of room and is charming and comfortable. The staff are pleasant and helpful and they provide a simple but adequate breakfast. I peeked at a couple of the other rooms and they looked very well appointed too. A nice touch was the turndown service, chocolates, and free bike rentals.
The Riverview os one of my favorite places in Florida. An 1890s gem that has been restored and maintained o \\to perfection. Within walking distance to many restaurants, shops and clubs in New Smyrna Beach, it's a perfect get-away destination. Excellent welcoming staff and modern amenities. The boat docks next door were taken by Hurricane Mathew, but everything else is still first-class.
The rooms are absolutely lovely, and the staff couldn't be nicer. But indeed the breakfast is a total joke. You only get to choose two items and the portions are TINY. It is as if this hotel is singlehandedly trying to prove that Americans are capable of serving small portions of food... It's a bit incomprehensible that a hotel with a restaurant would serve such a poor breakfast. Also, the only option for breakfast is in your room. The balconies (which are wonderful) have a table and seats where you could feasibly take your breakfast, but ours was facing the sun, and in the Florida summer this isn't a very pleasant experience. The fact that they have bicycles at the guest's disposal is a big plus for getting to the beach. We had a poolside room which was beautiful, but sometimes a bit noisy as we could hear music and guests...
