We spent a week here. Unfortunately it was wet and cold most of the time. The unit was comfortable, a well stocked kitchen with cutlery, dishes and extra garbage bags which some of the condos we have stayed at ration out sparsely. Check in was quick with friendly clerks. The microwave was very dated but functioned well. All in all, we would return here.
Much nicer than what we had expected due to negative reviews we had read. We have not found those reviews to be true or accurate. I am a very particular traveler and I will NOT stay just anywhere. Here is what I found: Appliances all new and clean. Furniture very nice. Plenty of cookware and utensils. Newspapers delivered to the door of our condo every morning. Air conditioner wonderful! Very comfortable bedding. Very nice staff. TV in living room and bedroom with just about every channel imaginable! DVD available in office Fresh coffee in morning in office. Will we come back??? You bet!!! We have really enjoyed our stay😊
I have read the reviews. Please people don't believe everything you read. Many people use reviews to get back at the staff for enforcing the rules. This is small older resort that suits the purpose for everything you could need. If your looking just to be comfortable, clean and close to all, this is the place. You can rent beach chairs on the beach. You can shop at publix across the street. You can swim and relax in the hot tub which is kept clean. If your looking to be coddled or think you can break the rules that is up to the mgr to enforce then this place isn't for you. I found the staff to be friendly and very accommodating. We've already booked a return visit. Thanks sea oats for a wonderful week of fun in the sun and look forward to seeing you soon!!! Lynn Freda
This is the nastiest place on earth!!! If I could, I will rate this place -1000! The manager and her employees are so rude and treating their customers like garbage. They yell at customers and use foul language in front of everyone. They've never changed the bed sheets and they never clean the rooms. They say housekeeping might come only once a week, if they do they might just do some light dusting. But they absolutly can not change bedsheets or change out trash cans or get you new towels. This place smells like a jail cell, not to mention, the rusty kitchen appliances and mold around in every room and cockroaches and other insect in the furniture! I took this much time to warn anyone thinking about coming to this place!!!! This is not a vacation but a nightmare come alive.
Our family has been coming here for 20 years. We have always left our beach chairs, kids beach toys, and boogie boards outside of our room neatly against side of building. On day 4 of our vacation, the manager stopped by rudely to inform us when needed to move the stuff. Just said others were complaining. There's a total of 8 cars in the parking lot, 2 of them ours. Not kid friendly or family friendly
The worst customer service by Debbie the site manager, this lady is very rude and unpleasant, don't waste your money to come here, there are better places around here. Very unhappy and would never visit this place.
My boyfriend and I booked for 4 nights' stay over Memorial Day weekend via Hotwire. We have used Hotwire for over 15 years in the USA as well as abroad, and have never had an issue with check-in...a lot of times when we travel we will check in late and like I said we have never had any issues (for example, even with bed and breakfasts or other rental options, the person involved either was on the premises or left us a key). We arrived around midnight at Sea Oats Resort on Thursday, May 25th...there was nobody at reception, and there was a note that for late check-in or after hours emergencies, to call a specific phone number. My boyfriend called and left a message...we waited a while and then I called the number. Debbie (who the next day I found out is the manager), answered the call and when I tried explaining the situation to her, she hung up on me. I called again twice and she hung up on me twice. Yes you heard me right...DEBBIE HUNG UP ON ME 3 TIMES!!!!! Note that there was NO policy on their door, their Web site, or on Hotwire's Web site that you had to check-in at a certain time. We called Hotwire and they tried to reach out to her as well, but could not get a hold of her. Hotwire confirmed that DEBBIE WAS BREACHING THEIR AGREEMENT to not allow us to check-in since we prepaid for our reservation. The representative on Hotwire was also not aware of any exceptions to check-in with Sea Oats, as none were notated on Hotwire’s side. Note again that this was a PREPAID reservation for 4 nights, so we had already paid for our stay and was not helped at all by Debbie. The next day I called to complain to management, only to find out that she is the manager...so pathetic! My boyfriend and I were left stranded in Daytona Beach after driving 7.5 hours from Atlanta, having no place to rest our heads that night. Do yourself a favor and don't give this company your $$ for accommodations, as their professionalism is non-existent...Debbie, you really should seek another job where you don't work with people, because you definitely don't have a heart! Also, if midnight is too late for you Debbie for check-in, why didn’t you do the very minimum and at least leave us a key to our room that we already paid for?!? Also, I would love to be able to report this to Debbie’s manager or management company, but of course she and her office staff did not want to give me that information…worst experience I’ve had in the twenty years of traveling, and I travel quite a bit.
Been coming to Club Sea Oats for the past eight years. The rooms are clean, staff is friendly and love the pool. The ocean is right at the back of the hotel, love walking the beach. It is nice and quiet and love the top balcony where you can sit in the morning or at night and enjoy looking at the ocean.
I would recommend Club Sea Oats to anyone who would prefer cute and campy hotels we boomers remember from our childhoods, to the wall of high rise hotels and condos lining Daytona beach and blocking the sun. This adorable little hotel is only 2 stories high, and on the beach, it also has a small pool for those that prefer that. The rooms were not fancy but clean and comfortable. Staff were friendly and helpful. The only thing I would point out as a negative would be their lack of beach chairs those of us that want to use the beach. When you travel its very difficult to bring such things with you, especially flying. Beach chairs in local shops were $25+ each. If we were to buy one for each one of us it would cost over $100 for something we would have to leave behind. There were beach chair rental places that charged $10 a day, which would have been $40 a day for us x5 days=$200. It just would have been nice if they accomidated the beach goers by having some beach chairs to lone out, even if they asked for a deposit on them to be sure they got them back.
We booked this through MCI, and read several questionable reviews. Yes, the place is a 60s or 70s resort, and if you are expecting a 5 star resort, there are several down the road a bit. If, however, you are looking for a quiet place right on the beach and want to basically be left alone, this might just be your place. Yes, the rooms are a little worn, yes, there are things that could be made better, but overall we were quite pleased with our stay. We took advantage of the umbrellas where you can watch the ocean without baking in the sun. Taken for what it is, you can do a LOT worse than Sea Oats, and given the choice, we will probably return. Book this as a place that is on the ocean, a quiet place, with little intrusion. Accepting this and not having unrealistic expectations, you can have a great time here.
