Nestled among the trees in Canaan Valley’s Black Bear Woods development, Simple Gifts II is newly constructed and features a unique pedestal design. The main level features an open floorplan featuring an extremely well-equipped kitchen, large dining table, woodburning fireplace, and big screen TV. At the top of the steps kids will be delighted to find a creative “cubby” that provides an excellent location for imaginary playtime. This vacation home offers four bedrooms along with a queen size Murphy bed in the downstairs den, which is actually the house’s pedestal. Simple Gifts II provides access to countless paths for walkers, bikers, and nature lovers. This Canaan Valley rental even offers air-conditioning! It is a short drive to Blackwater Falls, Canaan Resort and Timberline Mountain. Plan your perfect vacation at Simple Gifts II. 4-wheel drive vehicles with snow tires or chains will be necessary for winter visits.

Simple Gifts II- plumbing problem

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Beautiful property. The second day it began to smell like rotten eggs. I called and was told there’s a problem with the catch drain in the upstairs bathroom. Had to put up with this smell half our stay. Only instructions I was given was flush the toilet and close the door. If it’s a known problem I feel like it should have been fixed before we stayed at the property.

We loved the spacious deck and seating. Kitchen was well equipped and came with new appliances. There was a portable firepit in the backyard which we also enjoyed. Only thing we found lacking were a few foldable chairs to sit around the fire.

It was perfect! There's a lot of space, it was fully equipped in the kitchen. The back deck was the best for them to hang out on and enjoy family time. It is a great location from Davis, Thomas, Canaan State Park, and Blackwater Falls State Park. Restaurants and a small grocery store are 10 minutes away.
