Was on a travel trip and prepaid hotel, breakfast in place, had trouble finding it though as nodody knew what was going on. In heart of business area, hard to find places to eat (finally did on street and was good) they did look after you there at street eats. Reception wasn,t great, room OK, had 2 single beds as asked for. On street, so had to have curtains closed, didn,t know of other places at the time. Considering only a night and moving on OK really.
Stayed here for 1 night two adults and two kids. They gave us 1 bed for four people. They did bring a pull out though. The hotel was not in good shape. It smelled and was noisy. Wood in the rooms was starting to peel. The restaurant on top of the building was horrible. The ramada a block away is far nicer.
Well located in the heart of the business district. Excellent Hospitality. Well appointed Rooms. Great options for the food. Friendly staffs. Business Center with all necessary facilities. The SPA is small but not a problem. Keep up the good work.
good rooms...good hospitality... breakfast spread was limited...but each item was tasty... missed d lunch buffet as it's available at 29000tsh from Monday to Friday (we happened to visit the place on sunday)...
excellent staff decent food hotel a bit dated needs a refurbishment smack in the middle of the centre ok for business but for leisure I would not recommend the location I was there for the football so it wasn't an issue its a bit mad in and around the hotel but typical of African cities
Hats off to Holiday Inn Dar City Centre for laying out the 'red carpet'. Had a 1 night stay for business and required seamless internet connectivity. My sincere appreciation for Mr. Pravin Thakare, Front Office Manager, for facilitating my stay. The front desk and restaurant staff are very courteous and demonstrate service at the standard expected from a IHG Holiday Inn property. Room was bright, clean and well maintained. Coffee/tea amenities, iron/board and good selection of room service menu item made the stay even more comfortable, working into late evening! Asante sana to the crew!
Being IHG member wanted to try this hotel. Situated conveniently in city center and hence could get all my meetings arranged. OK for breakfast and gym. Can view many high rise buildings coming up around.
I thought I’d try the Holiday Inn for the first time in an African city. I was quite surprised. Although the rooms are very basic, as would be expected, it was comfortable and spacious enough. The bathroom was very small and difficult to turn yourself around in. The food in the restaurant shows good variety for dinner and the breakfast is above average. The location is perfect for moving around town central and if it wasn’t for traffic everything would be close. I had a nice view from my room and the staff was very friendly. I enjoyed the rooftop restaurant and the whiskey is not as expensive as other hotels. TV – The TV is small and basic. It often lost signal too. It has port for HDMI and USB, but none of them work. So I could not connect to laptop for work purposes. The desk also faces the wrong way. Pillows – They have a “soft” and “firm” option. So it worked out ok with a combination of each. I slept well. Room-service burger – Not too bad, but another one with egg on it. It fills a gap, but nothing special. Gym – Very adequate gym with decent treadmills and some dumbbells. A couple of plate machines allow for a basic upper body workout. Not a lot for legs though. WiFi – Not bad, lost it here and there but generally it is good.
Hotel is located in city center and you can find ATM, PHARMACY , BANKS, TAXIS, near by. Rooms seems to be bit over priced but can be cancelled out with the location it is placed in. Breakfast is good. If you are Indian and vegetarian, the breakfast is the one you are looking for. The pub on the roof top and the one at the first floor are good. I had some problem with wifi, for which the manager provided a wi-pod.
This hotel has a good location but everything else is just average. I have stayed at Holiday Inns in various parts of the world and they are great but certainly not this one. Service is slow. Breakfast is a big let down. Room size is just about ok. No special facilities for IHG members. Not even a welcome drink. Very disappointing.
