Cons: Tub had old Days Inn stickers on it. The room walls had mix match paint and some stains. Issues with their credit card machine so had to be woken up this am at 7am so they can reprocess my card. Pros: Nice location near a Walmart grocery store and Lil Ceaser Pizza, Comfy double beds,Clean rooms, Quiet, Affordable..
We booked it online and luckily there was a 5 minute refund policy! We ran back to checkout ASAP when we saw our room! It was hideous. Nonsmoking room definitely reeked of smoke and had a frayed, nasty, cigarette burned carpets and bedspread. I have never been tired enough to lay on that kind of filth! It screamed germs! Sleep in your car if you have to. Sorry I didn’t stick around long enough to take a picture so you would have no doubt and move on!
Disgusting! I call it the crack motel! Where shall I begin...I am bald yet when I checked in long hairs were still by sink and clogging the shower drain. The stupid clothes hanger is mounted by the sink so you are sure to get a hanger in the eye. Holes in the second floor hidden under the carpet, look at the picture where the tile is not flush with the carpet so you are sure to stubb your toe. The shampoo is in packets so you need to use scissors like the instructions say, and no they do not provide scissors...lol. The beds looked ok n clean until the next morning when I woke up with a strippers stickon fake diamonds stuck to my legs n stomach. The noise from the crack heads is unbareable, all nite long. At 1140 after hearing banging and hammering, I went to see whats up, lol here is a fat guy trying to break into a room he says it was his cable room and he lost the keys next thing he kicks in the door. Lmao. I said don't you think its quiting time and time for bed??? No answer, so i guesd he was either the owner or maintenance guy. All the noise finally stoppec by 0300 but i had to go to work at 0600 to repair lines down. The only reason i stayed was all the hotels were soldout due to the storm and linemen in town along with tree cutting crews VDOT to close roads and the locals who had no power or water. So enough with my long rant. DO NOT STAY AT THIS MOTEL. Trust me the sign out front still says undercnew management but doesnt mean anything. Dang I can only put up 4 photos...? Yet i took so many for you all to laugh out.
My stay at the Red Carpet Inn was wonderful. I got to know Sandy (the front desk clerk} well enough to keep in touch with her as friends. If there was anything I needed I was taken care of as soon as possible. The room was very clean. The service was great!!! We stayed from Sept.-April.
Worst motel in this entire country. Wish I would of looked up reviews but after a 18 hour drive I just needed to find a place as I came down to VA for work. Paid for 3 nights and could not get a refund. Left sooner then 3 days were up. Getting woken up at 2:30am by a dope head wanting a cigarette. No fire detector hooked up. Shower and sink back up from water that comes up the pipes while gone all day. Stinks like sewage. Asked for situation to get taken care of. They said they would bring a plunger and it never happened. Didn't see anyone for maintenance or room cleaning. Room not cleaned at all during stay. Refrigerator stopped working while my food was in it. Lost all my food .
The first room they gave us didn't have any bedding for the pull out bed and the smoke detector wasn't even hooked up. Smelled like an ash tray. They gave us another room. Smoke odor, bug in bathtub, smoke detector not hooked up, terrible pressure in shower and no fridge. One good thing, the woman that works the desk is awesome. She tried her best to make us happy. We did stay because it was so late to find another place, and we were tired of driving. REALLY TIRED
I was not expecting the Ritz Carlton and I did not get it. The Red Carpet Inn is an elderly establishment that is slowly being updated. But the three day price special and I wanted to visit friends in Danville...so why not? The lobby evidently was on the end of the renovation list. It was small and worn but the coffee was good and the 'good ole gal' manager seemed to be more than willing to help. I got a single with a giant bed and was delighted that the room was very clean with a microwave and fridge and a . really great television. The bath was for the most part fine but did have a tendency for the hot water to go instantly to freezing cold which tended to keep me alert. The towels were abundant and thick. The linen on the bed was the best with a high thread count that felt like good Egyptian cotton. The mattress was nearly wonderful. The internet actually functioned perfectly The 'remodeling had evidently started with the rooms. The morning breakfast was late getting started and sparse but the waffles were very good and were the banana and orange juice. Plus the nice manager did not yell at me when I was unable to turn off the orange juice which flooded the counter. Again the coffee was good But some cereal and milk and maybe a few rolls would have been enjoyed. The hotel was certainly better than some of it guests. I was there for much of a weekend. and there seemed to be a few of the drunken end of a date night group that yelled sweet nothings to each other from the balconies while discussing the exact financial terms of their date. But I found them to be kind of interesting in a local color way. Did I mention that the price was very reasonable??? Would I stay their again? Sure!!! Why not??? I certainly will not forget the place very soon.
I found the highlight of my experience to be the staff. I travel with my dog (about 45-50 lbs) and found the staff to be extremely accommodating and helpful. Rates were the cheapest (other places were charging $50 as the pet fee vs $10). The rooms were old and in disrepair, but I will be staying here when I'm in the area. Wifi worked great in my room and just streamed videos instead of using the TV (which was a flat CRT).
We checked in around 1:15 am with no trouble despite other reviews. The rooms are a little dingy and in need of repair, but for the price, it was a bed and a roof. It is acceptable for traveling on a budget. The staff was nice and willing to help resolve any issue I had. My greatest disappointment was the continental breakfast, or rather the lack thereof. We arrived an hour before breakfast was suppose to end, and there was nothing there nor did it appear anything had been prepared. We did find ashes in a non-smoking room. Nevertheless, both I and my wife found the mattress more comfortable than ours at home.
DON'T even consider this dump! It's old, not maintained and just nasty! The bed post was broken off, no switch on the lamp, peeling wall paper, a stained bed spread, a drafty door, and lumpy, squeaky floors. The stairs to the second story were difficult to maneuver and dirty. But the worst was the "breakfast room"! Small, stuff scattered everywhere, old nasty appliances, no serving utensils and minimal food choices. How this place ever passed health inspections, I'll never know! I always thought that Red Carpet Inns were clean and respectable, but after staying in this one, I'll never book a room in another one!!!
