It was ok

The area looks good, the hotel looks good. But the minute we enter our room, there was this wet smell. We thought it was the carpet. But come to find out, it was the curtains. We didn't realize it until sunlight shine through the next morning. There was molded all over the thin curtains. The A/C unit only have 4 setting. Low/high fan, low/high cool. It was either too cool in the high setting, or not enough in the low setting. There wasn't any temperature selection. And everything that's going on outside, you can hear it in the room. Bikers meet up can be a rough to get some shut eyes.

I checked in on Wednesday July 23rd and my room did not get serviced until Saturday the 26th where I had to call the front desk 3 times and ask them and then room service showed up at 4pm to clean the room when I had returned from a long day. Also why do you have smoking right outside the front door of the reception? Guest should not have to walk through second smoke because people are allowed to smoke right outside, It’s disgusting and awful to do it all the time. I spoke to the front desk about it and he just smiled and yes there is nothing they can do.

Frankly, when we were planning our vacation to the Black Hills , we hesitated in selecting Comfort Inn. We had a negative view of the Comfort Inn brand as having outdated decor and facilities, disinterested staff, substandard cleanliness. Despite these percceptions of Comfort Inn in general, we ultimately selected the Comfort Inn in Custer because it offered a competitive rate, it was ideally located for our interests; and its online presence felt believable. Boy, were we wrong! The Comfort Inn in Custer single-handedly convinced us to change our perception of the Comfort Inn brand. The Custer property was clean, convenient, and appe8aling as we drove in. The front desk staff were dressed professionally, were welcoming, and appeared genuinely committed to the hotel's success. Our room was clean and very comfortable. Even a minor maintenance issue was addressed immediately. Our room faced the hill behind the hotel. As my husband was looking out the window, he said it would be nice to see deer or other animal grazing on the hill. I thought it was an odd thing for him to say and , I just shook my head. I know this sounds crazy, but the next day when my husband was having coffee and looking out the window, he excitedly called me to the window. Yes indeed, there were five deer directly facing our room. I'm not joking. Now that's customer service. The Comfort Inn - Custer ROCKS! We now have a very positive view of the Comfort Inn brand thanks to the Custer team.
