The hotel is in a converted Spanish casa right in downtown and a stone's throw from Plaza des Armas. Excellent service all the way from reception to room service. Nice rooms and good breakfast. This hotel provided at least one free bottle of water and welcome drink. The Casa Andina hotels we stayed in Lima and Sacred Valley charged anywhere from 8 to 10 soles per bottle of water and no welcome drink.
This hotel is in the center of town only a few blocks from the main square. They did a fabulous job renovating what must have been a Spanish colonial mansion into a modern hotel, keeping many of what seems to be colonial furniture and appointments in the public spaces. Room was spacious and very well lit. Spotless of course. Good breakfast. One major gripe. In every other hotel we have been in where the tapwater is not portable, The hotel has provided a free bottle of water per person per day. In this hotel, no matter how long you stay, you get one bottle of water per person per day and a small bottle at that. Very petty considering the prices charged.
The location is perfect. Only a short walk to the main square and the hotel is very nice as well as the staff. The continental breakfast was amazing! Only thing is they say they have free airport transportation but there isn't any. it's a 20 soles fee ( about $6 USD) each way. The laundry fee is pretty steep and we noticed they kept taking laundry cross the street anyways to be washed. So we went across the street and it was $4 USD to have a whole bag washed versus their $1-$4 price per item to have the hotel do it. Was great having clean clothes after hiking for days. The baby lama that stays in the courtyard during the day is the cutest too! couldn't stop petting it.
Common areas, specially the patio and the large heated room are nice, and the location is very good. Bedrooms and bathrooms are quite basic for a 4 star hotel. No coffee/tea maker and there were stains on the carpet. Our room in the first floor had a window with a wall within a meter, so it was like being in a basement with no natural light. Wifi in that room (first floor) was minimal. Breakfast was good, except for coffee which is surprising as coffee is good even in small hotels in Cusco. They charged us 10% service which included tips, while nobody offered to carry our luggage to the room. I would not go back, there are better hotels in Cusco for the same price.
Stayed here one short night in June 2017 at the start of a chaotic homebound journey from Peru to Europe. To make a long story short: Don't fly Star Peru - the airline takes very little responsibility for passengers when flights are cancelled. The only good thing was that the airline put me here so that I had a chance to get a good night's sleep before I was dumped in Lima next day too late for my connecting flights and with no apologies. Back to the hotel: Nice staff, good dinner at the restaurant (also on Star Peru), had my very early morning wake up call on time, room was pleasant and had a great bathroom and the bed was comfortable. Only good to say about the hotel which is also quite centrally placed in Cusco's old town.
Located just a couple of blocks away from the Plaza de Armas, the hotel is set in a nice colonial house. Our room had a balcony towards the front of the hotel, with a nice view of the street and surroundings. Typical colonial, the ceilings were high, with everything set in a colonial (Spanish) fashion. Hotel personnel provided always friendly help. Breakfast buffet had many options, which was also nice.
Delightful hotel in the center of all the action of Cusco. Great restaurants, shopping, Cathedral, dancing displays of children in city square. The hotel rooms were very nice( the pillows could be softer),the breakfast was plentiful and of nice variety. Staff super helpful. Great fireplace lounge area for relaxing evening with wine. Nice open center courtyard to enjoy fresh air off the street. Would stay there again.
The hotel located at the city center. Some of the hotel is historical, as our room but threr is also a modern wing. We had a family room big enough although the batroom was a bit out dated. Great breakfast.
We (my family of five: husband, 2 fourteen year olds and a 10 year old) stayed at this Costa Del Sol for one night after our journey back from Machu Picchu. Since we were arriving late we stayed here one night and have now moved to the Palace del Inka for a couple of nights. Here's my review: 1. The location is good -- easy walking to all central area attractions, food, etc. 2. Rooms are large but basic: nothing special but clean and large. 3. The buffet breakfast is basic but nothing special. You can add some waffles/pancakes, omelets, etc. as well. 4. There is a courtyard in the middle (was a former Spanish home) and it can get loud but the staff is good about getting people to leave the area after 10PM so people can sleep. We left around 9:30AM the next morning for our Cusco sightings so we really didn't spent much time at this property.
we stayed 3 nights here, the hotel from the street doesn't look like much, but once through the main entry it is lovely. great helpful staff, nice quiet rooms with opening windows, good comfortable king size bed, bathroom adequate, everything clean , our last night was really fun, they made a fire in one of the downstairs common areas and we had beer and room service there. prices are really good and meals were excellent. would definitely stay here again
