Hotel and Mirador Los Apus3.0 out of 5.0

Los Apus has a wonderful staff and great services, from free hotel pick-up to complimentary breakfast. The hotel is located in the historic center within walking distance to all major plazas and in a smaller street with less traffic than most in the area. That being said, if you want to be in the center with the narrow cobbled streets and the lovely buildings, you will get some noise. Cars rumble over the roads at all hours and you hear the occasion pedestrians returning from a bar. But overall I found the sleep quality good for the area, and I wouldn't have stayed anywhere else. The hotel is well decorated with old fashioned columns and a central courtyard for dining. Our room had a balcony with a view and I believe the other rooms are set up the same way. We had comfortable beds and well appointed, modern bathrooms, and all at an affordable price.
Our rooms-- we had two to accommodate the size of our party-- and the hotel's lobby/dining area were beautiful. (Dinner was also fabulous. I highly recommend the hotel restaurant.) What really changed the course of my visit to Cusco was the incredibly helpful hotel staff, and Francisco in particular. I suffered from altitude sickness during my visit, and over the course of my stay, Francisco ensured I had oxygen, tea, and everything I needed to feel better. He took the time to teach me how to make the tea for morning and evening (the ingredients varied) and told me that I could always come to him if I needed anything. He is an absolute gem, and is the reason why I would choose to stay at Los Apus Hotel over any other hotel in Cusco. THANK YOU, Francisco!
Very nice hotel, well located in Cusco. The staff is really doing a great job to make you feel at home. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone. The rooms are quiet and with big beds. This is a really nice place to stay for a few days.
This hotel is three blocks away from the hub bub of the city square. It is up a pedestrian only alley, just 12 steps. It has an old world setting which is unique. I wouls say this does have a chalet look inside. The staff here are one of the best we have encountered. Lordes especially advised us through our altitude sickness in Cusco. We had sleepless, tight chested nights which made Cusco hard to enjoy. We did make it to Macchu Pichu where we had no altitude problems what so ever. We were in 205 so heard the early morning departures and latecarrivals of the othere Macchu Pichu travellers but as we were in that group too couldn't complain. Thank you Lordes for your accommodating manner.
It was really amazing overall! Loved the hotel and would definitely stay there again. The host was very accommodating to our needs and the service overall was above and beyond my expectations. Thank you for the great experience!
The staff was absolutely incredible. From surprising us with a birthday cake for my friend's birthday (even though we never mentioned it!) to helping us when we were stuck in Machu Picchu due to the protests, the Los Apus stuff was truly spectacular. Thank you so much for everything!!
Los Apus was a delightful place to stay for our visit to Cusco. Francisco had breakfast and great conversation each morning at breakfast. Marco was most attentive to all of our needs as he work the desk in the evenings. We checked out for our four day hike of the Inca Trail and when we checked back in our rooms were ready and our luggage was already waiting for us in our rooms. Lovely property! Thanks for a great stay in your beautiful city!
all of the folks at Los Apus were so welcoming and charming. we even had a bath tub after a brutal 5 days on the Uyumi Salt Flats and could not have possibly been happier. warm, welcoming rooms with a warm and welcoming staff. the perfect combination.
Francisco made sure we were well accomodated for breakfast each morning and also a very nice dinner, his kindness and service mad our stay that much more enjoyable. Laurdes at the front desk took care of all of our needs which were many and we couldn't have been happier with our stay. The wifi is free and fast and the rooms are quite nice and provide excellent value.
Excellent location very close to all the attractions, clean rooms with all the basic amenities, excellent breakfast. But the best part was the super friendly staff who cater to every one of your needs (packing the lunch, additional heater, places to visit etc) - Special thanks to the chief chef Mr. Francisco and the Mrs. Laurdes at the front desk. Definitely recommend.
