Beware this hotel. We booked this after researching online for good reviews, amenities and location. We had traded emails with the hotel in the days leading up to our stay and I had even spoken with them on the phone the day prior due to our luggage arriving before us. However, when we arrived at the hotel we were let in and told they were in fact closed and they had booked us elsewhere. This apparently happened some days prior to our arrival (however I note another reviewer in January said they were closed for renovations then too). The hotel then taxied us to the hotel they decided for us automatically. I will rate that one separately, but we had to ask to move rooms there due to the poor room, noise and lack of windows. What is frustrating is that they should have given us the option if this was indeed a legitimately unplanned closure (we doubt this). We had another hotel on our trip get in touch and offer to rebook us or give us the option to cancel - and that’s how it should be handled in these situations. Instead, we felt lied to and did not get what we paid for or picked.
Close to Cuzco center, nice installation and friendly service. Breakfast with a variety of healthy food, comfortable and warm place. Coffee table available 24h. Historic house with objects remaining from incas ages.
We booked the first half of our stay in Cusco at this Hotel cause I hadn't been able to firm up the 2nd half Machu Picchu portion of our Peruvian Holiday. Once I had that locked In, I inquired about returning and finishing out our stay at this location, They figured it out, and safely stored our bags. Nice! ,Front Desk help all had much better English skills than I had Spanish skills which is a shame since I live in San Diego. We had a couple of late,Early, night coming and goings as we were there over New years and took a late bus to Puno, 24 hr staff at desk. They have a Buzzer for front door, always activated quickly. Anyway Street never seemed sketchy, Maybe its not on San Blas Square but it is one shortish stairway away, and its close to main Plaza de Armas square(5min)nice walk, Stones throw to a micro sized grocery, Water, wine, beer, snacks, We had Room 302 first half of visit and room208 second half. 302 had some slight noise from breakfast prep on 4th floor, but please who complains about somebody making you breakfast. Window opened to courtyard. Full tub/shower, No Issues with water pressure or Temp.In room safe. Comp bottle of Agua at check in.Room 208, only walk in shower, but private toilet room(Wife says Thanks). window opens to a pedestrian street but it has decorative iron grill and is deep set(Remember they're Inca Walls)Felt safe and nobody messed with my water or ham sandwich I left at Sill. Sheer plus blackout curtains. Many TV channels, CNN english and one other- A luxury for us since we cut the cable at Home. Room 208 bed was two twinsized beds joined, Huge and comfy. I had only positive experiences with WiFi- But I was only mapping and doing research on next days venture. No fridge or minbar- This was my first time in South America so i think that is standard. Ice also a Rarity. Breakfast consistent and Varied, Staff Offered to take direction on Egg preparation but I found scrambled in the server just fine, Bacon,Thin sliced ham, two types of cheese also Hot dog slices, cooked(I think I'm moving in). Many local grains,Leche, fruits, Breads, marmelades Coffee, Tea,Juices, Avocado. As noted we used this as a home base and day tripped it out to Pisac a day for a 6k hike, Ollayantambo 5k hike, and a Bonsai run to Puno,Lake Titicaca.on the 10 pm 6/12 hr bus(we recommend)ride returned 18 hrs later and felt Like we were stumbling into home.Courteous Staff. Great location. Also top floor has a view Patio that we Didn't take advantage of- we were going to sneak up with our breakfast one day but often it was misting in the morning. Next time!
Great location for discovering the city. Wonderful resteraunts near by. Easy to get a taxi. The rooms are so charming and a very nice size. Breakfast and the service where fantastic. The only thing is there are stairs and steps and you are are in Cusco with its high altitude. Well worth the climbing to stay in this fine hotel. Nice quite street.
My family has lived in Cusco for 9 years and I have spent about 3 months a year there for the last 5 years. I booked this hotel for one night as the hotel we wanted to stay at was booked up. Simple hotel, nothing spectacular. The breakfast is ok, the lobby is not the most inviting and the way its set up it feels very confining. Some rooms have no windows The hotel advertises being in the historic San Blas area of Cusco, but is quite removed. A lot of hotel in Cusco say they are in San Blas, because they can then charge higher prices. If you are looking for just a place to sleep it works. If you are looking for a place to recharge and really enjoy Cusco. There are better options.
This is a lovely, quaint hotel, close to the city centre. The sfaff were very friendly and always very helpful. I had two different rooms, which were both excellent and individually designed. I would visit again.
From start to finish the staff at Los Apus went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable. They even brought a cake to my room on my birthday and sang to me!!! Never have I felt so at home at a hotel in my life. I absolutely adore this place.
Is older, clean and well located small hotel. The lady who seems to be manager was very helpful. Good breakfast. I will go back tomorrow night. They will store your luggage when you go on multi day tour.
We were very satisfied with the services provided by Los Apus. The staff we had a chance to interact with more frequency (Lourdes and Francisco) were very helpful, knowledgeable, and efficient. The only downside of our stay was that the room (302?) was too warm. It would had been nice to have a fan in the room. Thanks!
The hotel is located close to the main square. There are cheap and good restau rants in the area if you don't want to eat at the hotel . The staff is great, so kind and smiling, five stars for all of them! The advice for the management would be to have better bathrooms with wetness evacuation system, better curtains to protect from the light of the day .
