The hotel had a lot of atmosphere, both inside and out. The restaurant and bar served substantial meals. At night, once the tour busses left, it was very quiet.

Liked: Staff & service
Lovely village setting for quirky hotel
I stayed in the Outlander room which is cosy as fairly small.
Room was a bit too warm, would have liked a fan.
The room is directly over the bar area so it was quite loud with music and voices til past 10 o clock, even on a Monday night. It is all street parking, which is fine if you arrive after 5pm as otherwise quite tricky to find a space with all the tourists.
Staff were all very friendly.
This was such a beautiful cottage hotel. The food was excellent. I had the best macaroni and cheese I've ever had. The village has more shopping than you'd expect. It's definitely worth the short drive off the beaten path. And of course it's a filming location for Outlander which makes it extra special.
Excellent experience staying at The Covenanter for one night. We booked a deluxe room and stayed in the 'Queens Room' that is at the front of the hotel opposite Falkland Palace. Along with the 'Cameron Room' it's accessed via a separate entrance at the front of the hotel. This is a very old building so the plumbing etc is quite noisy and we could hear the music below us (albeit not that loud) from the bar. Everything was very clean and the shower was excellent, with shower gel, shampoo and conditioner provided. An extra portable heater in the room compensates for slightly draughty windows (again given age of the property, this is not a surprise).
We had both dinner and breakfast at the hotel. Decent menu (pub food, but with daily specials) and reasonable prices. High point was breakfast which was one of the best we've had in a small hotel. Usual continental options and a range of cooked choices. I had an omelette that was excellent and my husband had the full Scottish which was outstanding - generous portions and perfectly cooked. We were also able to park for free just across the street from the hotel. Would definitely recommend and Falkland is beautiful.
Falkland is a beautiful Scottish village. The hotel is on the main street. There are a few coffee shops nearby. There is a great deli next to the hotel & the lady who runs it was so accommodating. She even warmed up the food we bought, which was delicious, supplied
plates & cutlery. Service with a smile.
The property was closed on the Tuesday we arrived. No evening meal available so had to go out & find somewhere to eat. The Milk in the room was off & out of date. No shower gel provided & light switches loose on wall. However room was clean & breakfast very good & cooked & served by a lovely lady. A little disappointed with this place
Outside of the building is very unique and authentic, and inside is newly renovated. Staff are very friendly and accommodating. Hotel is in main area of town
