We come to this area every year for a concert, but this was the first time staying at this hotel. The pros: - it's next to a big truck stop style gas station, so there's gas station food available late at night The cons: - the door had a big gap in it where it met the floor- plenty big enough for roaches, small mice, etc - the vent in the bathroom had a big open gap above it (no idea why?) - the *non-smoking* room not only smelled like smoke when we walked in, but got so bad during the night that we woke up coughing. It apparently was pulling cigarette smoke in from the outside or someone smoking next door. The room had more smoke in it than if we were in a bar! I actually had to wash all of our clothes (including clean, unworn clothes because they all stunk so badly) - the bedding was old, gross, and looked unclean - the "fitted sheet" was just a top sheet that wasn't even tucked in well and kept sliding off exposing the bare mattress and all of the stains on it - the bathroom was nasty. The light switches were covered in brown gunk/buildup, there was brown/tan colored stuff spattered all over the bathroom door, and the tub was disgusting. - the health score for the breakfast bar was an 89 (not to mention it was just cereal in multiserve containers, frozen biscuits that you could put in the microwave, and gravy in a crockpot) -It's next to a tire yard and truck stop = shady Overall, I would never stay here again. The smoke from the hotel room ended up giving me tonsillitis, making it just not worth it. I cannot believe this concert contracts rooms from this hotel, it's just nasty.
Nice, clean hotel. Very quiet room. The only problem we had with the hotel was the linoleum flooring. It was very slippery after getting out of the shower. It is not carpeted like most hotel rooms. The beds were very comfortable.
Check in was very good, Greg who checked us in was very nice. We made mistake of booking this hotel on Booking.com pricing was cheaper at the hotel. Greg was nice enough and gave us a senior discount on the booked price. If we would have waited could have gotten the hotel for $45.99 from coupon book from rest area instead Booking.com was $72.95, I learned my lesson not to go through booking companies on the road. The hotel was not worth $72.95 it was clean but very old and small the bed was awful it was like we were laying on the floor and hard and uncomfortable, did not sleep well and made my hips hurt, the pillows were good. Did not eat the breakfast cereal and tiny muffins and biscuit and gravy. The area didn't seem like the best but not scary. all was at this highway exit was a spot for trucks to park , the hotel and gas station. Will not stay here again on our trips to Florida
My experience at Econo Lodge was excellent. The rooms were in excellent shape and the people were friendly and nice. I would stay at this hotel at anytime and has been a nice experience. Wi-Fi was fast and service was wonderful.
We needed a place to spend the night while traveling. I read the reviews thinking this place would be sufficient just to sleep for the night. It’s not! We got a nonsmoking king room. It was NOT non-smoking. The smell was horrible, and the room had been smoked in quite a bit. The bedding smelled of smoke horrible. Everything I took into the room smelled like smoke. The faucet was not attached to the sink, and you had to hold it down with one hand to raise the lever to turn the water on with the other. The room was so dirty! Mildew and mold in the shower. Floor towel for the bath room was dingy. Shower curtain had mildew on it. Bathtub drained really slow. Do not stay here!
Made my reservation with hotels.com and found out that if I drove in with a coupon I could have saved $10.00. The hotel room s nice, except they need to learn how to remove dust in the room. The gentleman who checked us in was very friendly and polite. They serve a continental breakfast and have coffee and juice in the lobby at all times.
We stayed here twice on our trip to the beach. Clean rooms, courteous Staff, great price!! The rooms have recently been remodeled and the outside is in the process of being remodeled. We stayed in room 103 near the front. It had a comfortable king size bed with a mini fridge and a microwave. The room was very clean and it was quiet both nights we stayed. The first night on the way to the beach and then again on our way back home 2 weeks later. It's the only Motel on this exit and is close to the gas stations markets and restaurants. Very convenient and priced Right for the traveler staying just 1 night. They also have a senior discount if you ask for it. 60 and older! We highly recommend this spot and will use it again. Gary was very helpful!!
I stayed there many times working on the road, if you want cheap, this is it. It is running down but my car was broken into. It is cheap for a reason if that is what you want. They don't enter your Choice points
Would give zero stars if I could. The dirtiest, worst smelling hotel room I have ever been in. Tried several rooms and they were all bad and full of flies, dirt, mold, and mildew. Asked for a refund within 30 minutes of check in and was refused. Front desk clerk was rude and unhelpful. Do NOT stay here if you want your room to be the least bit clean. We had to leave and stay elsewhere it was so bad. Complete waste of money!
So I am driving from Florida to Indiana. It is Sunday about 9 pm and starting to get tired. I see this exit pull off and walk in the front door. I tell the guy, who was very polite for such a late night, I need a room with two beds and a pullout couch for five. He says no problem. I say can I have ground floor, he says no problem. Total cost, $70. Breakfast in the morning, room was clean, water pressure awesome. I can't beat that for $70 buck and no reservation. I recommend. Yes it is not a four seasons or holiday in, but remember you get what you pay for.
