We went for a Valentines weekend. On arrival the staff were professional and friendly. For some reason we were not given the room I thought I had booked via Expedia, but the character of the room was immense although it was in the rafters. Unfortunately my husband is almost 6'4" tall and struggled in the room due to the low ceiling and sloping beam. The owner upgraded us, at no extra charge, to an absolutely beautiful room. I can say that we will definitely go back! The food was excellent, the area brought back childhood memories for my husband. I had never been to Crickhowell (Crug Hywel), and my husband had not been for some 60 years. It was an amazing weekend for us. Highly recommended.

Really well located, friendly staff. Comfy bed. Rooms are quite small and cosy but have what you need. Only downside was we couldn’t get our car through the car park entrance, but they directed us to other safe, free parking down the road

My stay at the Dragon

Good stay, staff helpful. Wasn’t sure where to check in. Asked at the bar. Room clean smaller than I thought. Nice breakfast. Difficult and narrow access to parking at the rear of the Inn.. Good for small cars but midsize cars side clearance is a few inches either side of the wall with side mirrors turned inwards. Street parking limited.

Stayed in the annex room 17, skylight no window, noise, radio and smells from kitchen until 10.30pm and then again early morning, radiators banging noises at 5am, room smelled musty and needed paint. But bed was super comfy, towels fluffy, bath nice and hot and staff very friendly. My friend stayed in main hotel in lovely room overlooking Main Street and so think the refurb hasn’t reached annex yet, but feel this should be reflected in the room price. It was expensive for quality of stay.

A really enjoyable stay.

Cannot fault the cleanliness or quality of the room - we booked a two bedroom suite for myself, husband and adult daughter, it was spacious, comfortable and well equipped.

Generally, the stay was good and comfortable. All staff were polite, helpful, and willing to serve. But to claim a 4 star status, one should not expect little things like empty salt shakers two days running, leaking plug-stoppers (couldn't keep a bowl of water) difficult lock on bathroom door. It's not nice to keep mentioning such items to staff. One sensed hotel majored on restaurant (good) and hotel secondary, latter not being kept as well as it could. Shame, because the potential is there. Owners need to "not walk past poor quality."
