Being able to regulate the temperature in the room would be a great iimprovement. At first it was too cold and later in the night it warmed up and the winter down comforters were way way too hot. What about fixing the windows with screens so they could be opened and the cool air most nights could be accessed?

Very friendly staff and very helpful accommodations! Will definitely return!

We had such a nice room with adjourning large bath area. Very comfortable bed. We loved the idea of a big basket of fresh fruit & pastries brought to our room for breakfast. What a nice touch! We ate in the adjacent restaurant and were underwhelmed however. The food was okay, but for the price I thought it could have tasted better. I had the trout on a bed of such weird things - Anazazi beans, barley, onions, a pickled carrot, watercress and a piece of raw cauliflower. I would have enjoyed something a little more normal! By the way watercress grows in a lot of streams up there so it's free along with being bitter!

I had the Oat room and it was essentially half of a house all to myself, sans kitchen. There is a mini fridge in the living room which also had a very comfy couch. The bed is clean with poofy pillows, with bath robes in the closet. The bathroom is cute tho the toilet is kind of wedged against the wall. Almost right next door is the Gristmill Restaurant which is very convenient. The bartender, Jessica, is lovely and remembered my name every time I came in. Also, in the morning you can call for breakfast and it will be delivered to your room in a wire basket and just have to leave it in front of your door when finished. I loved my stay and would definitely come back. The walk-up to the house is cobbled steps and some other houses have fireplaces so I recommend calling them if you have a preference.

I found the Gristmill Inn completely by chance and booked two nights and what an awesome surprise! The location is perfect and the Inn is charming. I was booked in a downstairs room, but always prefer the top or second floor. The owner immediately took me upstairs to another room and switched me with no problem at all. The restaurant is great, real gourmet food and an amazing wine cellar. If I had one "room for improvement" comment, it would be that the vibe in the restaurant was a little too stuffy, it needs to be more communal in feel, like the tiny, amazing bar. The bar is fantastic, 4 stools two booths and a great bartender. They also had an impressive beer list . It was an amazing couple of days, I would definitely stay here again.
