This is an average hotel, well located for visiting Dijon. Our room was small but clean and comfortable. Our only complaint was breakfast. They ran out of plates, bowls and croissants. This happened on 2 occasions we stayed there.
It was comfortable but garish. All compensated for by this glorious view of the mighty Rhone and the walkable Bridge across to a great restaurant. No lift so those who are disabled or have creaky joints should avoid. Their restaurant is blindingly lit and no one goes there much. Le Patron could do with some decorative advice. It looks like guests will be given compulsory third degree interrogation. The great Rhone vigneron Chapoutier is 5 minutes away by car across the river and fifteen on foot.
Our second stay at Hotel du Nord; first one 8 years ago. Two nights in mid-May. Really like the hotel, its accommodations, location and especially its staff. They were very welcoming and eager to please. It's always a nice feeling when on the road and checking into a hotel. The rooms are a good size, the beds comfortable and they have modern bathrooms. Unfortunately, the mini-fridges have been removed. Easy walk from the train station and down the pedestrian street to the main part of the city. Close to shops and restaurants, and the many sites in Dijon. We would definitely stay again.
We arrived late in the afternoon without a booking, having had to bail from a filthy airbnb. It was very cold! We were welcomed in every way and made comfortable. The attitude was just like a 5* hotel. The room was big, the shower was fantastic and the bed was super comfortable. The staff loaned us plates, glasses, napkins and everything we needed to eat the food we had bought for our shonky airbnb. It was a very fair price and we stayed for 6 days. Thank you to evetyone there for a lovely stay and a great base to venture out from to explore beautiful Dijon and the surrounding areas.
Had a lovely corner room overlooking the arch and the main street. Room was clean and comfortable and good-sized. Lots of storage space and a refrigerator. Bathroom was tiny, but that's France. My only complaint was that the electric window screens did not work one night so it was very light in the room (learned that blinds are called "stores" in French). Great location on the main street, short walk to the train station one way and to the old town the other.
A place to sleep . Clean tidy. Reception friendly too. Felt cramped in room and tiny shower room. The in house restaurant didn't look much but what a surprise very good food very good service glad we stopped over.
Overall, a good hotel, good location, good price. The location was right in the center of the city - couldn't really ask for much better. The hotel was pleasant. Room was decent sized and we had a great view of Place Darcy. Service was good.
For me the location of this hotel was ideal: right on the edge of the pedestrianised shopping area, close to the old town with its sights, near the tram stop, and within walking distance of the Place de la Liberation and the railway station. There is no lobby to speak of, just a reception desk where check in was quick and efficient. My room was bright with a big French window overlooking the shopping street below. During the day it was quite noisy with the window open, but close the window, which was double or triple glazed, and you didn't hear a thing. I liked the very good black out blinds, as I like to sleep in a really dark room. The room size was compact, but had everything I needed: a large and very comfortable bed, plenty of hanging and storage space, air con, a safe, a TV with international channels, a desk, and a mini bar which was locked - I guess you can request the key from reception, but I did not bother. Wifi was very good. The bathroom was also compact, but well designed, with plenty of storage space for toiletries, nice fluffy towels, good lighting, and, most importantly, a fabulous shower. The breakfast, served in a soulless basement, was pretty awful, poor even for a non-breakfast nation like France, and not worth the EUR13 charge - I only went on the first morning. Apart from the breakfast, I was very happy with the hotel, and would stay again.
Close to everything. Room was nice and bathroom partially renovated. Just need a little integration of newer and older items. Front desk staff member was very welcoming and helpful. Breakfast staff member was a trainee and a bit overwhelmed. Wifi was 'limited' - could not use to skype or similar calls etc. Took a while to log in to the provider also.
Not the easiest to find if your driving being right in the centre of Dijon. However once you've managed to find it there is a secure public car park quite close. Rooms are clean & comfortable if not spectacular & service efficient & pleasant. Would certainly stay here again if we were looking for a centrally located hotel in Dijon. Didn't try the restaurant as there are lots of other more interesting restaurants all within walking distance.
