Fairly standard Novotel although especially unappealing visually, a flat roofed 2 story building. Booked in advance it was also very expensive at £89 for a twin room without breakfast. We were only there for 10 hours and it did provide a welcome break on a long journey. The beds were clean and comfortable, the room generally and bathroom a little tired. Strong wifi and instant hot water though. Recommended only as a bed for the night.
I do recommend this hotel for one night stay for all who travels from Paris to the east and south east. It has easy accsess from the highway nearby and couple of excellent restaurants in the two small ancient cities. The service is like Novotel every where, the breakfast is reach, there is a swimming pool. It is enough to recharge yourself after one day of driving.
As an AccorHotels Gold card member I spend a good part of my business life staying in their hotels. If this one is 4 star then I can only imagine it got it's rating in 1997 and not 2017! Obviously it has not been decorated or maintained since! Highly disappointing, next time I will book the nearest Ibis or Ibis budget...
Stayed in this hotel many times before, But they have changed the beds and other décor not good beds if you require two singles you have to pull and push sofa bed not good after long journey, It has become a expensive Hotel and you will get better value in other similar Hotels.
First off, when I travel around France I tend to stay at Novotels to ensure that the standard remains the same and I know what I am getting. This hotel is just not up to the Novotel Standard. Its 'ok' for an overnight stop. The Air-con in the room was not working so it was an extremely warm night. In fact Very Hot. I am an Accor Silver Card member and I received 1 Welcome Drink for four people in two rooms. The Hotel is in an industrial type area so it is hard to walk to anywhere safely as it is also on a main road. All that said, the staff were very nice and helpful but wouldn't stay here again.
We stayed on two separate nights at this hotel during a coach holiday. One night on the outward journey and the other on the return leg.On the first night of our stay we thought the hotel was alright. Yes, the rooms are tired and need refreshing. Lots of scuffs, nicks etc but the beds are clean and comfy. Our dinner was included in the room rate and it was, although not fine dining, acceptable. The breakfast the following morning was good and we looked forward to our return trip night at the Novotel. How wrong we were. The dinner on the second night was the worst I have ever had in any hotel I have ever stayed in anywhere in the world. We were served bowls of ‘thick sludge’. We asked what it was and were told it was soup. We asked what kind. Answer ‘courgette’. It was disgusting. It may be that in our coach party one person finished it, but I doubt it. All the bowls of sludge that I could see went back to the kitchen as they came out. The main course may have been an attempt at beef bourginon. The meat was unidentifiable. It was sinuous and in short supply but the taste was not altogether unpleasant. What was unpleasant was that it was served with pasta which was stone cold. Most of this plate-full went back too. The desert was apple tart and custard. Sounds good? Could once have been good. But this one had been plated and then refrigerated for several hours. It was inedible. I know that coach companies tend to pay a lower rate than others and that it seemed there had been a function at this hotel during the afternoon. But there can be no excuse for servi ng some bad food. Almost as bad was the attitude of the restaurant staff who made it clear we were a nuisance and they did not care if we enjoyed the meal or not. If you are travelling and you want to break your journey this hotel is o.k. for a night. But the restaurant is another matter. I can only repeat that in my opinion, the meal I was served was the worst meal I have ever had in any hotel.
We appreciated the very friendly lady at the reception After having a long ride and being tired, she made us feel better! My husband stayed there again, when coming home! We'll go back. People at the breakfast could be a bit more helpful though
There is no lift for the room on 2nd Floor and we have to carry our big luggage by ourselves, that we never met before. When arrived the room, there is only 2 towels that is not suit with our 3 persons. Also the water flow on the sink is too slow, it needs to have any preparation from staff before guest check in as I think that it must be standard of Accor or Novotel.
Friendly staff and lush reception, rooms need renovating as are "tired", real blast from the past. Hotel not near to restaurants in an industrial area south of Dijon. Breakfast good, typical of Novotel.
This hotel is in the process of being refurbished and the beds are much improved. Our room had a super- king bed with a new mattress. The children's beds also had new mattresses and duvets - better than the blue blankets you get in some Novotels. The bedroom also had a new carpet. One of the waiters in the restaurant has been there for many years and remembered us. We were very happy with our meal. The reception staff were also very friendly. it would not appear that the bathrooms have not yet been updated yet but the one in our room was adequate. This place is definitely getting better.
