We booked this hotel as we were travelling from Dunkirk to the south of France and Dijon is roughly half way. The hotel was well priced with perfectly adequate facilities and the receptionist was friendly and helpful on arrival. There are a few places to eat within walking distance, however, the thing that sold it to us was the ease of location. Highly recommended for a convenient place to transit through travelling south in France.
Easy access to hotel from major roads. Lots of free parking onsite. Room was small but well equipped and air conditioned. Comfy bed, good shower, quiet location. Dinner and breakfast were good value, wines weren't overpriced and service was good.
A one night stop over on the way to the Alps. Any other time would have been much busier but this time we arrived New Years Day. Everything accept Macdonalds was closed and that was half mile walk away. Welcome after day in car. Beware when booking through agency the price is NOT what you pay. Had two rooms at £34 each turned out to be £36 plus vat. Breakfast OK at €9 but if Flunch had been open would have been better. In essence a disappointment when compared to other Kyriad Hotels. This one a slightly upgraded Travelodge. strange bathroom arrangement with hairdryer over the toilet. Visions of potential disasters. Don't think we would use again
Reception was very friendly and helpful, especially Eva, with good English. The hallway was interesting with statues, the mirror behind them made the space seem much bigger with two doorways to the breakfast room. There was no lift and the stairs were very awkward with suitcases. The bedroom was on the small size and the wardrobe very much so. There was some tea, coffee and milk in the room, but the cups were paper. The door to the bedroom was difficult to close from the outside. The bathroom was adequate with a self over the bath for toiletries and two hooks on door for clothes. The shower was powerful but because it faces into the room was difficult to use. The flush on the toilet seemed poor and there was only one hand towel. There is no restaurant at the hotel but there are some nearby. At the tram station nearby you buy a ticket which you then validate on the tram, we bought a 24-hour pass that we found useful. For the town get off at Dijon station for the Office de Tourisme or Darcy for the main shopping street. They are fairly close together. In the information Office buy a Owl’s Trail Guide book at 3.50 € and follow the trail to see the main sights with explanations and find out which alleyways should be entered.
Pleasant enough for an overnight, clean rooms with comfortable beds but in general, the establishment is 'tired' and in need of a refurbishment. A pity that they could not provide the three single beds as booked rather than grand lit and a single ... with only that Gallic shrug rather than an apology.
We travelled across France from Bas Normandy Alancon to Switzerland Montreux, Geneva and Zug by car! We decided to stop in Dijon for one night! Why we stopped at this Kyriad: very close to main road, very calm and cosy, fresh air! Before we checked 2 hotels of Kyriad chain in the center of Dijon and we were disappointed because parking situation! Good breakfast, comfortable and friendly for travelers! And on our way back we also decided to stop here because we we sure at this place!
We were welcomed with great enthusiasm and friendliness which is always nice to start your stay with. Rooms are smallish but large enough for two. Bathroom is ok, it has a bath and large enough to accommodate a short stay. Being able to make tea and coffee in your room is a big plus. Price is very good compared to what your get - budget hotel without compromising too much on quality. Close by the highway and some acceptable restaurants nearby. Breakfast is extensive and of good quality, have had better of course but for € 77 for a night and breakfast for 2 people it is ok.
This hotel is beside the tram line that goes direct to Dijon centre. We had a great day in Dijon. The tram stops by the railway station, the Tourist office is just opposite and had a map of the city and the Owl walk, we followed this and saw all the main sights in a great walk. We then had a lovely lunch in the city before returning to the hotel for the evening.
Hotel is ideally situated for a stopoever on the way to the South of France. The room was fine, nothing more and nothing less than we needed for such an overnight stay. At out time of staying I didn't notice any facilities to have any dinner at the hotel, and be aware that the surrounding area doesn't offer much except for a diner a few minutes' walk away (that closes around 21:30). Obviouslly this isn't something the hotel can help, just adding this as a "mind you" for fellow travellers.
Easy to find with a very helpful receptionist. The room we were in was small but very clean the bed was very comfortable and the linen was of better quality than expected. That said there were very little facilities at the hotel - no bar - no restaurant. They did offer breakfast though. It is opposite a big trading estate and you will need to navigate that if you intend to eat out locally. It was a good stop off point for us as we were on our way to the South of France but we would have to have had the choice of being able to eat and drink on site.
