In plus: - location is good (geographically not area wise), close to highway which is handy if you come by car - rooms are clean In minus The list is quit long I am afraid: - staff - most of the staff were rather friendly but one of the receptionists called Audrey (need to name this person based on her behaviour) could use customer service training. At two occasions she was literally shouting at guests when they tried to eat in bar area where apparently you are not allowed to eat (although microwave is provided in that area). In her opinion it was better to shout from 30 meters over the reception and the bar instead of approaching the guests and quietly explaining them that they cannot eat there. Very poor and bizarre behaviour. - paper thin walls - I got no sleep whatsoever hearing my neighbours waking up at 7 AM each day. Also heard cars from the nearby street. - the breakfast is a joke and I mean it. No vegetables, barely any fruit, poor food quality, one of the worse I ever experienced - our room card did not work half of the time and the receptionist had to come up each time we wanted to enter the room (same happened to two other couples) - dodgy area that the hotel is located in - apparently you can reserve parking but it is said otherwise on booking.com - no air con - to be precise it is controlled by the hotel and in my opinion it means there is no air con - our room was getting crazy humid and smelly after each shower and the only thing we could do was to open the window
Looking for somewhere to stay as everywhere seemed to be booked up we found this place. The room and bathroom were small but very clean. There is a gated car park for which there is a charge. Went out for a meal and then returned and had a drink in the bar whereupon a large coach party appeared, completely overwhelming the poor girl in reception as they were very rowdy. Breakfast was disastrous. The coach party had eaten almost everything and there was no-one around to clean the tables or replace the food. Probably wouldn't return!
I stopped for one night on my way from London to Italy and I had a very pleasant stay, the bed and room were nice and clean and the hearing was very easy to adjust (great for a cold person as myself). The guy at the reception was friendly and helpful too, directing me to a website were I could order a late dinner.
WQe had booked two nights and wish it was only for one night. The room was clean and very small. Twin beds (ouch), small bathroom but well located for the train station and centre of town was 15mins away. Not sure if we would be back. Very friendly staff
Clean rooms, very comfortable beds, free wifi and all small things like soft cups for drinking or big choice of tea bags made my stay AMAZING! Except breakfast. Well there wasn't enough food for our group and the staff weren't there.
We have not stayed at a Companile for a few years now and we were impressed by the new look hotel. The bedroom was functional, firm double bed and excellent secure parking. The Wifi was fast and easy walk to local boulangerie. Unfortunately, the restaurant was closed (Sunday evening) like most other restaurants in town.
Stopped as a family. Kids (14+12) had their own room (next to ours as requested). Dijon a 20 minute walk into the centre. Handy shop across the road for the morning croissants. Parking available on site (with small charge). Staff extremely welcoming and friendy (all spoke English). Rooms perfectly comfortable - plenty of charging points. Free wifi. Perfect as a stop off point.
We stayed in this hotel as a stop over whilst driving through France, we arrived just after midnight and were met by the night receptionist Steeve who was efficient, friendly and helpful. Our room was perfectly functional and really clean, the beds were very comfortable. Overall a perfect hotel for a short stop over, the only negative is that the breakfast buffet was open to flies, unfortunately so we didn't stay to eat any of it.
One of the cleanest hotel I stayed so far in Europe. The hotel is easily accessible from the tram from Gare. There is a direct stop infront of the hotel. The staff was friendly and breakfast served was good. We were a family of four and the rooms were quite spacious and well kept. The rooms are very modern.
Hotel situated a good kilometre from the centre, we walked it easily but there is a tram stop just outside the door. Unfortunately I forgot to prebook carparking but it wasn't a problem as there is parking across the road just up a side road which was free. Easy check in, room ready and just what we needed, cool, clean and quiet...although the hotel was busy! We had a night cap in the bar area and swift check out the following day having opted to not take the breakfast option...much cheaper on the toll roads where there are lots of services to stop at on route
