This is a very pleasant hotel pretty neat the centre of Dijon. We were met by a very helpful and delightful receptionist and our bedroom was absolutely fine. We had booked a pretty early dinner, the dining room was pretty empty when we went down ( other than some guests with a poodle, I still can’t get used to dogs in restaurants)and we asked for a table where we could sit at 90 degrees to each other rather than across the table, as in fact how nearly all the other tables for 2 were set up. The manager was intransigent and really unhelpful. In the end we moved a chair and cutlery, it might seem like an idiosyncratic request but we were made to feel uncomfortable as a result.
I loved my stay here so much! The room was super spacious and clean, I liked how the toilet was separate from the rest of the bathroom so that my husband and I could make better use of it. The check in process was easy and the staff was helpful throughout the stay. The bar and restaurant was awesome. The spa facility with the saunas and swimming pool was a huge plus! We had been on the road for a while so it was rejuvenating to have access to that. The one thing that could've been improved was our massages. My husband and I both got a massage and it was pretty weak. The ladies didn't really seem to know what they were doing and the pressure was super weak even though we asked for firm. Other than that, we had a great time and would for sure stay at this hotel again!!
I loved this hotel. It is elegant, clean, close to everything and staff is very helpful. We took the train to Dijon and asked for a taxi at the train station. They said it was an easy walk which it was, even with large suitcases. We couldn't have been more pleased with the lovely hotel. Very spacious and modern. It is extraordinary at night as it is lit up in pink lights. Our room and bathroom were large with all the wonderful amenities that you would find in a 5 star hotel. It is right in the heart of the tourist area so everything is an easy walk. It also included an amazing breakfast that was served in a lovely dining room. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone going to Dijon.
We arrived in Dijon by train. A relaxing walk to the hotel followed. The hotel is in a top location, close to everything. The bed was very comfortable, the room clean and bright, the decor of the hotel was superb. We decided to go out for a walk on our first day and the Concierge called out to us, asking us to hold on for a minute. Was there a problem ? No, in fact we had not noticed it had started to rain and we were smilingly provided with 2 hotel umbrella's ! Sums up our stay, we would definitely return !
This is a wonderful hotel which I can't recommend enough. We spent three nights in a Deluxe Double room - and the stay was as close to perfect as possible. The room was large, clean, and beautifully appointed (with a balcony overlooking the entrance to the old town). The front desk staff were knowledgable, friendly, helpful, and welcoming. The hotel is about a 5 minute walk from the train station. We've stayed in alot of hotels in Europe - and this one may well be the best! I can't recommend it enough.
This was our second visit to this hotel. Excellent location. The restaurant was very good. The staff was very, very helpful with one exception: as was the case last year when the bellman saw us approaching with 2 suitcases each he disappeared. We hauled our bags up the stairs ourselves. (No ramp). Upon check-in he wanted to take the bags to our room. No thank you. With that caveat the staff were excellent as was the room, the breakfast we had and the dinner in the restaurant.
The la Cloche is an ideal hotel for a stay in Dijon. It's in a perfect location, about 1 km from the railway station and an easy walk into the pedestrian mall in the centre of the Old Town. The rooms aren't overly large but they're beautifully finished. The staff are very helpful and efficient. The breakfast is excellent with a wide choice of food. I would recommend this hotel to anyone.
This hotel is well placed and well run. All of the old city iis close and s walkable even for older people. I am a retired teacher and Dijon is my favorite city. It has the charm of Paris with the nicest people and feels safe in the old town. It is an easy drive from Paris CDG. Hotel La Cloche has wonderful modern bathrooms up to american standards with comfortable beds. In addition the AC works to American standards and there is valet parking. ( impossible to find parking in the old town)The staff was wonderful and accomodating. Room 115 has a beautiful view of the Place Darcy. Although lacking old world charm the rooms are tastefully and elegantly decorated with nice bedding. Unfortunately they did not leave the elegance in the lobby and bar going a bit too modern for this elegant old building. The restaurant although with a limited menu had great food and the waiters very polite. This hotel is a ten!
We only stayed for one night on our journey through France but wished we could have stayed longer and hope to go back . The hotel is centrally located for a walk around the town , with shops , bars , restaurants and historical areas all within walking distance. They have a multi story car park on site . The staff were friendly and most were multilingual. Our room was luxurious, with a sitting area , spacious bathroom and walk in dressing room . The view from two large patio windows was of a park opposite and the town . We were welcomed with complimentary sweet treats and drinks and there was a turndown service in the evening with chocolates . The restaurant offered French cuisine and a good wine selection and we enjoyed our meal . They let well behaved dogs in , which was ideal for us . As regards our dog , there was a park right opposite the hotel that was perfect for walks , although it closed at sun down . We would definitely recommend this hotel and would love to go back.
This was an ancient and famous hotel that had slid far down hill. The only solution was apparently to preserve the façade and renovate completely the interior. It appears to have been done with great forethought and care to comfort and practicality, and the decoration, so different from many "modern" renovations, is fairly easy on the eye. Staff is caring, and impeccable in their service skills.
