...to say that I like Campanile. This Campanile is a shining example why I love [MOST😀] Campanile. The manager (Anthony??) was very welcoming, great waiter and knows that Affligem is better than Heineken. I LOVE the salad bar/starter buffet - great choice of brilliant fresh food - gazpacho to die for...👍🏼 My marinated sardines this evening were sensational - fresh and with a lovely salad and rice. The [new generation] rooms are great - clean (most important) comfortable bed, great shower, wifi...what's not to like. Oh and I paid EUR44!! Looking forward to the usual fantastic Campanile breakfast buffet. Dijon Sud is a brilliant Campanile.
Disappointed last year, but now a good overnight stop since the rooms have been refurbished and freshened up. booked on line and included breakfast in the price. Easy check in and quickly in a nice warm bedroom for the night. Breakfast at 7 and on the road by eight. The hotel is about a mile from the nearest motorway and several Hypermarkets and superstores are within walking distance. There is even a Macdonalds nearby. If you use Campanile a few times a year, it may be worth registering with their club collecting free points. After ten nights collected you get a further stay free.
The bedroom block of the hotel is decidedly ready for complete re-building, but at the very least should be completely redecorated and renovated both inside and out. The bathroom of the room we stayed in was found to be in a poor state of repair and as an elderly couple we were concerned for our safety as no handrail is provided above the bath, and the shower rail which could be used for the purpose of support is not properly fixed to the wall and unsafe . Urgent attention is required to these safety concerns to avoid the real possibility of injury to a guest staying in that room. The Campanile in Dreux where we also stayed was found to be in a similar poor state of repair, and we ouselves shall not be staying in any Campanile hotels, under any circumstances, ever again.
This branch of Campanile is passable. The hotel and rooms are clean, but now getting very tired. Used it for several years with no fuss or bother, but it now really needs updating . Car parking is free and secure
We were here for a marriage and spent two night in this hotel. Although reception staff are attentive, the hotel is aging, and the room cleanliness is approximative. After 22 ppm, the shower is cold. Breakfast a bit disappointing for the price. Inside a commercial zone with several restaurant and low price carburants.
Having stayed at a nearby Ibis 4 / 6 times a year and finding the prices getting more and more expensive we decided to try the Campanile which is just around the corner but only 44 euro's compared to 68 euro's that we were paying. Although the décor is slightly 70's looking the rooms were clean, the beds very comfortable and the staff very helpful. Plus the fact that the car park is totally secure at night. I can thoroughly recommend this hotel and we shall make this our port of call when we are in Dijon
We stopped at the hotel on our way to skiing. WE had to book two rooms as we were 2 adults and 2 children however the rooms were not next to each other although booked the same time and strangely a group arrived later and they were in the rooms between us. Rooms were clean and nice and warm ideal for a 1 night stop. We ate in the restaurant that is part of the hotel and were very disappointed. the food was VERY expensive and of poor quality. They advertised a type of meal deal with a buffet starter (Have a look before you buy) there was hardly any choice. When we left there were a number of other places we could have ate but were tired so went to the first place.Have a look around first and if in doubt there is a mcdonalds around the corner. Saying that i would stay there again pif there was a need but wouldn't eat there.
We stopped for one night on our way south. The Campanile is in a busy retail/business park close to a number of other chain motels. Room was clean & aircon worked fine. Dinner in the restaurant was acceptable. Breakfast was the usual range of pan au chocolat, croissants etc. Staff were friendly but spoke limited English so expect to practice your "schoolboy" French a bit. Exterior & staircases looked to be in need of TLC. Some noise from the adjacent main road during the evening but this eventually died down. Almost next to a large E.Leclerc supermarket with a petrol station which was very handy. We'd use for an overnight stay again but probably not longer.
Stopped on way back from the alps. Convenient, clean & roomy. Although basic motel style on retail park. Plenty of eating places near by- buffalo grill is good choice especially if you have teenagers.
If you take this hotel based on its pictures, you will be sadly mistaken. To me, it seemed more like something that you would rent hourly in a bad part of town than a nice place to stay overnight. We stayed here because my last time in the area I stayed in Dijon and wasn't that happy about it. This is a good location if you are traveling the auto route and need a place to jump off, sleep 6 hours and get back on (as the night manager told us, that's really what happens). The rooms are a bit small, and sparse, and the bedding had seen its heyday many years ago. The location is a good location between the Northern Cote D'Or and Dijon. As others have stated, its in an industrial part of town, the only good thing being that it is next to an E Leclerc grocery store so you can stock up the next day for your car ride to the south of France like everyone else that stayed there was doing. The man working the night shift though was a great guy, helping us with the luggage delivery company, and was always helpful even though you could see he was very stressed. Would I stay here again, no, but it wasnt bad, just not what I would want for the price.
