We stayed as a family of four for 10 nights in August. The hotel is clean and tidy and quite modern. We booked a family room which was cosy but practical for a couple with two younger children. The reception and catering staff spoke good English and were very helpful. The pool facilities are of a high standard contained within well managed gardens. There is a life guard/pool bar attendant and sufficient shallow end for children of all ages to enjoy themselves. The hotel is located about five minutes drive from the main town of San Teodoro so if you are planning to spend time away from the hotel you might consider hiring a car. We were able to hire a small car from the hotel on a daily basis when needed otherwise the shuttle service to the beach and to the town is a good service. We pre-booked towels, sun-beds and umbrellas for the hotels beach location at La Cinta which is a nice location on this beach but is a five minute walk from where you are dropped off (walk along the walkway to the beach and turn left until you get to the zoned-off area with white umbrellas, about 300 meters). The food in general was of a high standard and theme nights are value for money. If you are staying more than a week the theme nights are repeated so you may only want to do each of these the once. We would stay there again.
This hotel is located outside the village of San Teodoro and it’s not possible to but a round trip shuttle service to the famous Cinta beach and to the village is provided daily and included in the room rate. Hotel has an own attended beach service with sun chairs and umbrella to be paid extra. All the staff is very attentive with the clients and the service is very good. Rooms are basic but well furnished with all the comfort you can expect from this category of hotels. WiFi connection in the rooms is weak but I think it’s normal for Sardinia. Breakfast is buffet style with hot and cold dishes, salad and fresh fruits Outdoor restaurant is open for dinner and the quality of the food it’s really excellent. Is also possible to eat at lunch time at swimming pool’s bar. Apart of the beaches, thanks to the association Orizzonti di Gallura, there is also the possibility to make a guided excursion of about a couple of hours with a special boat on the Lagoon of San Teodoro where is possible to see the water birds including the flamingos. Booking in advance is compulsory as the seats on board are limited. I can recommend this hotel to couples and families
Hotel san teodoro is located slightly outside the city centre so a car is necessary. However it is possible to reach the beach and city centre in 5 minutes by car. They have theie sunbeds on "la Cinta" beach which is imho the best around here. I suggest you to take it if you're traveling in August, all the beaches are so overcrowded. Breakfast is good, not much choice but still good. Rooms are big enough for two, equipped with simple modern furniture.
Stayed here for 10 nights. I quite enjoyed it and would come again. The staff is very friendly and they speak English (many of them) which is quite rare for Sardinia. The room is big and clean, but I think it could really do with a facelift, it looks quite old. The bathroom is big, clean with shower and none of those stupid glass walls:) great Breakfast is a quite disappointing, I'm afraid. We stayed for 10 days and nothing changed. Every single day same old same old food. And there is not much variety either. This is not a 4 star breakfast guys!! Come on!!! The pool - looks great but... Well the problem with the pool is that it is supposed to open at 10:00 am, which is perfect because you just finish breakfast and head to the pool... NOT so!!! Every freaking day, there is one bored guy slowwwwlllyyy cleaning the pool until at least 11:30!! Really guys!!! That is not 4 star service!!!! Very disappointing! Can't you get the bored guy to slowly clean the pool at 8am?? Other then breakfast and pool everything was fine! I particularly sought the the bald guy in the restaurant should get a raise for being overly nice and helpful:) But honestly would have rate it 5 stars if it wasn't for the pool issues...
I made a booking to this hotel via Booking.com. "Free cancelling, you don´t have to do anything", it said. Very soon we cancelled because of a change of travel plans. They had charged my credit card for 500 euros. For over a month I have been trying to get my 500€ back. After 5-6 weeks of cancelling, they still give excuses but no refund. Be aware of this before you book!
We have just returned from a week at Hotel San Teodoro. Everything was perfect. From front of house to housekeeping, restaurant to ground staff, everyone made our stay very comfortable. Beautifully clean in ALL areas. We had dinner on two occasions and the food was delicious, typically Italian, which, we expected. If we had taken note of the majority of reviews, we would have cancelled ( though no refund at late date) So pleased we didn't. The shuttle bus is essential without a car but so flexible in it's service. From the warmest of welcomes to sad goodbyes, a lovely place to be. Applause yourselves, Jane
Was a little nervous about coming to this hotel after reading some of the reviews. However, from the moment we got there, all our worries were gone! The staff at the front desk were possible the happiest and most friendly people I have come across working at a hotel, and the facilities were exactly right. Our room was clean (the daily cleaner was incredibly thorough and fast!) and airy, with a massive bed. The only criticism was that the shower was slightly smaller than I am used to at a hotel. Other than that the room and bathroom was beautiful. We looked out over the pool and had an insane view of the mountains beyond that. Try to get a pool room!! Overall fantastic stay. I would recommend renting a car (only cost us £40 to rent a convertible for a week) as it is on a road and not really safe walking to and from San Teodoro.
Just to point out that this hotel is excellent - 4 star - staff, hotel , swimming pool accommodation , balconies overlooking fields to nearby mountains If you would like a very, very good hotel you have got it here 😊 Adrian
We booked through Voyage Prive. We assumed that the hotel would've been checked by the company to ensure that it would be okay. That was our first mistake. Do not believe their adverts. We arrived at the hotel. For a supposedly four star hotel, it certainly lacked the wow factor. It looks more like a motel and is situated on a rather busy road. The beach was a few kilometres away, within walking distance. I wouldn't recommend trying this as there are no paths. We went to the bar for our welcome drink. This was closed so we went to the pool bar. This resembled the bar that Del boy had in his lounge. We decided on coffee. The member of staff appeared to have no idea what a Cappuchino or Latte was and we were offered instant Nescafe in a paper cup. not very four star. Our room was miniscule with insufficient wardrobe space for one person, let alone two. The view from the balcony consisted of a wall, a roof and a large aluminium chimney. We complained and were offered a poolside room. Although bigger, it smelt of damp and had all the charm of a prison cell. We were moved the following day to a better room after much complaining. The dining experience was truly awful. The four star ala carte menu with table service mentioned on the Voyage Prive site was an absolute lie. The buffet was cold, unappetising with portions that wouldn't feed a sparrow. Breakfast was just as bad, one two hole toaster for a whole hotel and a coffee machine that worked occasionally. We sent an e mail to VP who suggested that we should meet with the Chef. We suggested that perhaps they should have done their research and been a little more honest about the standard of catering. The hotel charges you for everything, towels, shuttle bus, wifi etc. The location means that you do need a car. You can hire one at the hotel ..for a price. Remember to fill it up with petrol before you bring it back. The hotel will do it .. at a cost of 50 euros. I could go on. Overall, if you see this hotel advertised, for the love of god, book somewhere else. What you see on facebook and their website is not what you get. It is overpriced, overated and underwhelming.
The Hotel is well out of town on a busy road with no pavement. Fine if you have a car but otherwise you have to rely on Hotel transport at restrictive times. The hotel itself was clean & the room spacious. We had a balcony which is where we spent most of our evenings. The cleaners kept the room exceptionally clean. The pool was guarded like Fort Knox & you had to go through a changing room to get access to it which made a rest or drink by the pool a non starter! Now for the big let down... The food! We had a half-board stay & used the restaurant only twice! It was that bad! The promised Table D'hote was more like a school canteen, although much more chaotic! There were two hot trays & a range of cold platters but you could never get anything together. One night there was a strange looking dish with fish 'bits' in it, the other tray contained a couple of small blackened things that I later discovered were supposed to be kebabs. The other night there was a roast pork joint & potatoes. The Joint disappeared in minutes so I waited for another to arrive "in 2 minutes", I was told. 25 minutes later one arrived - but there were no potatoes left! lets try something cold then.... There's ham & salami but no bread left. Then there's bread but no meat left.. & so it continued. Totally useless. We ended up travelling into town every night to eat. There are some nice restaurants but they can end up a bit pricey. We went to a fish restaurant & my Wifes fish (priced by the 100g) cost 38 Euros!! Then there was breakfast, which we named 'The Bun Fight'! There's food, but no plates. There's plates but no food, there's saucers but no cups (NEVER any cups!). There's scrambled egg but no bacon (bacon was scarce & later replaced by cold frankfurters!), then the other way around, then there's cheese but no ham.... or bread! The juice machine broke so no juice, I don't think the staff had heard of a jug. - you just couldn't get it more wrong! we ended up buying mugs in town to use (thanks to another guest who gave us the idea!) & my wife brought in her own fruit. There was also the worlds slowest toaster. We had a car & wanted to explore the island (which is stunning, by the way!) but if we hadn't this hotel stay would have been a total disaster... You have been warned !!!
