We had a superb week at this lovely hotel, good size bedroom with views of the sea, loads of storage space and the best room safe ever (large enough for A4 paperwork and 2 tablets). All the staff were very good and nothing was too much trouble. The food was also of a very high standard and the house wines were good too. Highly recommended.
highly recommended hotel! we stayed there some days and jus enjoyed it at its finest. the hotel staff is very friendly and welcomes you as one more in the family. the best of the hotel is the service it offers as you have a shuttlebus directly down to cala gonone (3min drive). once you want to get there or back to the hotel out of the schedule time you can just call the hotel and you get a shuttle for an extra. the only thing we didn't like was the breakfast...!
We had a really lovely stay in this hotel for the first part of our honeymoon. We were given a beautiful room with a lovely view and its own spa bath when the staff realised we were on our honeymoon, and the staff were friendly, helpful and provided impeccable service throughout our stay. The breakfast was really good, with lots of options available, and the facilities (including an outdoor lounge area and large pool with sun loungers) were great. It is on top of a hill not right in the centre but actually we found this to be much better than being by the port, as it is so quiet and peaceful, has lovely views, and there is a frequent bus shuttle to and from the port area (or only a pleasant 20min walk). Everything was really clean and well maintained, and furnished to a high standard. We really would recommend this hotel - thanks everyone for making sure our stay was so enjoyable!
We were astonished with the high service level provided. Rarely you see this anywhere and in Italy. The front desk took care of all our wished and were simply fantastic. Our two little dogs were also so welcome and they whole heartily looked after us and our dogs. The place is amazing but the service makes it even more complete. Highly recommended and thank you so much for this wonderful stay!!!
We booked this hotel as a last minute deal which meant we were half board. We were lucky and got a large room with a Jacuzzi overlooking the sea. When we went to use the jacuzzi, we found that it wasn't working. Tmade ohe staff were great. They tried to fix it and when they couldn't they moved us to another (bigger) room, this time over looking the pool. I would definitely recommend the sea views but maybe not the extra cost of the jacuzzi. The staff were friendly and helpful and made our stay welcoming. You can walk into the town but it is a very steep walk back, in parts, so if you have trouble in this area you may want to discuss it with the reception desk as I believe they will arrange to pick you up at a small fee. We walked, so don't quote me on that. We booked a boat tour through the hotel and that was a fab day, and a long day so worth the money, out. We brought our own lunch and loved visiting all the beaches and swimming in the amazing sea. The driver of the boat didn't really speak English so we missed out on all the information but the views were so great it didn't matter. The hotel has a large, but cold, pool. Great for cooling off in the burning heat. Just keep moving though so that you can warm up. There isn't a huge amount to do in Cala Gonone and this isn't the type of holiday we usually do (I like to go on day trips and see historic sites) but, the pool area was so clean and lovely, looking at the sea, and so I soon got into the life of read, swim, repeat. We did go down to the beach one day but when we put up a parasol, a very rude man took it down (without speaking to us) and then said we couldn't use it. This was very tricky for us as we both burn easily and need shade. So we had a swim and had to leave. We did find the shade of a tree but I would recommend asking the hotel if they have parasols and if not then maybe purchasing one, it was too hot for us so we couldn't spend days on the beach. The food at the hotel was okay, some dishes better than others. My husband is vegan and the chef tried to cook him different things each day which we really appreciated (not easy being vegan and eating out). We did go into town a couple of nights and it was lovely to sit at a restaurant and listen to the sea. If you like lots to do this is not the place for you but if you want to relax the hotel is spotless and the staff are great.
We went (my wife and I) for a 4 days holiday in August and this hotel served us very well. Great service overall. Helped us with our hikes, took us on a boat tour, served very good food... all amazing. The hotel is situated around 1km from the center, what is great for that morning walk down to the beach or the port, but if you need, they have a constant shuttle that takes guests down. Kitchen team and waiters are very friendly and make you feel home. Enjoy your stay at Brancamaria!!
I've never written a Review on here, but I really felt the need to this this. We went to this hotel from 22nd to 29th July 2017; I booked it via Sartadur Holidays (Richmond, London) and we have first of all, a SCHEDULED B.A. flight, which left Heathrow on time and a great take off (I am a nervous flyer). B.A. at Terminal 5 was seamless. On arrival on Sardinia, I was sort of expecting the usual 'coach' pick up - instead, the hotel owner, Mario collected my daughter and me, and a couple, in his Ford Galaxy, which had full pelt Air Conditioning; he stopped off just after the airport, to a cafe, so we could get a drink for the journey; HE offered to pay, which I didn't expect and we had a swift and safe trip to the hotel. He kindly pointed out the Lake and various places of interest, whilst en-route. I HAVE to point out the various staff in particular because they could not do enough for us: MARIO - hotel owner, could not do enough for us, collected us whenever we needed it from the town, after Shuttle Bus hours etc and he was so funny too. ("Pomadoro" was our joke). I noticed he was around alot, and mucked in with his staff and he was part of the service, not assuming he's the boss and that his staff did it all. Great guy. ELIZABETHA - Mario's wife, who seemed to be constantly on call and was very kind, efficient and courteous. VALENTINA - receptionist - a lovely local Sardinian lady, who spoke excellent Italian and English; she ensured my mattress topper was added, when I requested it; she had that done in seconds Also, she ensure my 2 small laundry items were sorted out and they were ready the next day (I didn't need for 5 more days). ALEXANDRA - receptionist - very kind, efficient and was very helpful when I needed plasters for my unfortunate sunburn. CLAUDIO - receptionist - when I had 2nd degree sunburn and was in tears (despite Factor 50), he immediately called the Doctor's Surgery and reported back to me it was not open until 9am. He promised to call at 9am, which he did and organised the shuttle bus directly to the Doctor for me for 10am. He arranged a pick up for us, but we got the usual shuttle bus back. I didn't ask, he offered and this really eased my discomfort. He was an excellent English speaker and was direct, and efficient. Such a good guy. FRANCESO - pool bar and main bar - SO funny, lunch came swiftly daily and he made us a great chocolate milkshake, with real chocolate ice-cream, that was lovely! GIOVANNI - evening barman - so kind, sweet and efficient with his drinks service and again, he couldn't make our holiday any nicer. I got a great photo of him on our last night. The restaurant staff were brilliant; the drinks waiters were fast and always brought out really chilled/perfect drinks of water ('naturale') (there was a joke about 'no gas') which made us laugh, or with gas. They brought our food swiftly and cleared up quickly. SARDINIAN NIGHT - after two days of bad sunburn, this night really cheered me up! They put on a HUGE buffet, then had a further 2 courses brought out to us by the waiting staff. They had singers who sang in local songs, 4 men and they moved around the restaurant, so everyone could see. After that, Giovanni (the barman) and a local waitress, danced the typical Sardinian dance - it just made a great start to a lovely evening. SHUTTLE BUS - NOT to be under-estimated. We were told it went 3 times a day, but it turned out to be 5 times a day, there, and back. They also ran a 'taxi' service if you wanted to go out in to Cala Gonone to eat/sight see and it was EU 5 per time, but it is fair enough as it is a bit of a walk, to the town. HEAT - it was exceptionally and unusually so hot when we went and I understand it's even hotter now. However we were kept out of the heat where possible and this did not spoil our holiday. My sunburn is clearing up and the medicine the Doctor prescribed was exactly what I needed. POOL - the pool is clean, quite cool, not too cold but you need to be a bit thick-skinned to get in. It was so lovely to float and swim in, to see the mountains around etc. FREE UPGRADE! Much to our surprise, we got a free upgrade to the CLUB DELUXE ROOM, after 3 days; I believe they needed our room as it had a child's bed in it. This Club room had a jacuzzi, a pool view, amazing air conditioning, a great TV, loads of space (many metres square) and the bathroom was tiled in green, with fancy light fittings, a fabulous power shower. Clean bath towels daily and a beach towel once, and we never needed to change it. CLEANING - TOTALLY SPOTLESS. Never seen anything like it and I've lived in Dubai, where there's hundreds of 5 star hotels and the BrancaMaria had spotless rooms, reception, restaurant, as far as I could see. It made a lovely difference to have this service, to our already lovely hotel. I could go on and on but honestly, it was one of the best hotels I've stayed in. The food was good (not totally amazing) but absolutely spot on and in terms of value for money, the whole trip was around £1330 for 2, with BA flights via Sartadur Holidays, this transfer I mentioned above, half-board and more. My contact at Sartadur is Penny. I'd sincerely recommend this hotel to anyone who is thinking on whether they should choose this one. DO IT. You will surely never regret it. One very happy customer. :)
My husband and I stayed here for five nights and we loved it. We had a car so it was easy to get to Cala Gonone and back but even if you don't have a car the hotel has a regular shuttle bus. The restaurant and the staff are a highlight for sure! Every morning they are happy to see you and so friendly and helpful and attentive. I was especially appreciative of this as I can only eat gluten free and they would see me in the morning and automatically bring gluten free bread, crackers and things to my table. So kind! The dinners were delicious and also, amazingly they could make everything gluten free or substitute with something delicious. The spa in the room is worth paying for and we loved it! We would DEFINITELY stay here again!
Really can't fault this hotel. It is, of course, the staff that create the wonderfully happy atmosphere - just the right balance of friendliness and professionalism. The hotel is about 1 km from the centre of the resort but don't let that put you off. They run a very frequent courtesy bus and are always flexible if you need a lift outside of the hourly schedule. They have a very good kitchen team who produce tasty meals, served by lovely restaurant staff. We did not stop smiling from the time we arrived to the time we regrettably had to leave for home. We shall go back!
Just a great place to stay! Fantastic service with positive staff. Great value and extra value is the boat trip that can be booked at the hotel. Great shuttle service to the village even if it was a short walk down to the village. Very nice and clean rooms! The pool was clean, very nice and a perfect place to take a swim in morning / afternoon. We would love be back!
