Chose the El Paso being the only all inclusive hotel out of the portaventura hotels and find this works best for our family. We have also stayed at the Caribe which is also a lovely hotel. The El Paso is an amazing hotel clean and well looked after and the staff are really lovely. It has a great sized swimming pool with a pirate ship for the kids to play on but be warned the water in the pool is really cold. Be careful if you have a room near the gardens as we sat outside one evening and left our patio door open only to be eaten alive by mosquitos
Stayed a week with my 8yr old son and have to say what a great hotel. The food was very good (half hour slot for breakfast but very nice) and evening meal was nice with huge portions! Staff very friendly indeed.hotel always clean. The one downside is the wasps when you're eating the food from the all inc part throughout the day but that can't be helped.parks are just over a 5 minute walk away. The main area of salou and the beach is about a 15 min walk away but there's buses that take you there right outside the hotel. It's a fab hotel, but would only recommend it if you plan to go to the theme parks and waterpark often as there's nothing else quite so nearby. My son and I were going to the parks at least once sometimes twice a day so loved it. But all in all,a fantastic hotel and would definitely stay here again.
A lovely stay in Salou. Hotel El Paso is situated next to Ferrari Land and Port Aventura theme park, a 10 minute walk away. There is a shuttle service with a stop right by the hotel entrance which will take you to the entrance of the parks. There is also a short cut to the park through the hotel, by the main buffet restaurant. The hotel has a gift shop filled with Sesame Street and Woody the Woodpecker souvenirs, and there are guest appearances of these characters in the hotel lobby from time to time. This hotel is child friendly. Tickets to the theme park are included in hotel price. Tickets to the water park and Ferrari Land are not included in the hotel price during peak season, so check before booking. Port Aventura has rides for all age ranges, with a Sesame Street area within the park for younger travellers. The park is open until late, with an impressive water floats and fireworks show at midnight. This is a slight downside to staying at the hotel as you can hear the fireworks every night and entertainment. Check ride times as certain rides are not open on a Sunday. Meal vouchers are provided by the hotel to use at the theme park, but there are only a few places these can be used. The hotel has an authentic Spanish decor which adds to its charm. The rooms are clean, and all host balconys. There are no fridges in the rooms. There is a hotel policy where they request you to not hang clothing and towels on balconys, to maintain the pretty appearance of the hotel, especially if your room is facing the front of the hotel. Infant cots are available, upon request. There is a safe in the room. Check in took over 2 hours, some reception staff had a very relaxed attitude and kept trying to up sell. Breakfast is served at the buffet restaurant, but you have to book a time slot at check in for each day you are there. Depending on your length of stay, you can dine at the A La Carte, but again this needs to be booked at check in. Although this is an all inclusive hotel, it is not an all inclusive definition such as a Mexico all inclusive. Food at restaurants are free, snack bars by the pool do charge for crisp, certain flavours of ice cream. Local spirits and beers are all inclusive, premium brands are charged. The cocktail bar is open after 6pm. There are pool rules: no inflatables, unless water aids such as an inflatable ring for an infant, no sunglasses or sight glasses (only way to keep regular glasses on in the pool is if they are on a strap/string), no drinks in the pool. The lifeguards are very vigilant, and will constantly blow their whistle if you have broken rules, jumped into the pool, splashed outside the pool etc. Overall, great location and child friendly.
I Took my Son, his wife, his children, my daughter and her friend for a week to El Paso hotel everyone was very happy with the hotel, the service and the facilities that were on offer. We enjoyed the holiday from start to finish
We visited hotel el paso all inclusive and loved it. Worth the money and had an amazing view from the balcony. Clean and tidy. On downside was that reception staff were quite rude like everything was a hassle. Waiters etc were all lovely. Insects by the pool were an annoyance however understandably unavoidable. Pool was VERY cold and please be aware that you are not permitted to wear glasses in the pool. Other than that we plan to go again next year but for 2 weeks rather than 1 next time!
Large hotel with independent blocks so guests are spaced out. Huge outdoor pool. Half board is perfect if you’re spending your day at one of the Portaventura parks. The dining area is very well organized with a large selection of buffet food for both breakfast and dinner. Self service water and non alcoholic drinks are included. Friendly staff. On the downside, there was no evening entertainment. The bathrooms could do with an upgrade.
I'm glad I read the reviews before we went to this hotel as least we knew what to expect. We arrived at this hotel for 11nights, check in was actually better than expected although we were told we wouldn't get a free day at Ferrari land which I was sure was noted when we booked with firstchoice. We couldn't get into our room so left the luggage at the left luggage room and went into the park. We didn't recieve a text to say our room was ready so headed back after three to get our room number. Headed up to the room which was a big disappointment. It was a double with a camp bed for my son to sleep on. We had booked through firstchoice for two doubles as shown on their brochure! Anyway down to reception where my husband was basically laughed at for asking and told that was standard in Spain. She was very rude. The rep was no help. Thing was the bed was over the balcony door so it was a hassle to get out on it and in the end we never used it. We have been many holidays and never had a camp bed for our son! Service was good at the bars and restaurants although we couldn't quite understand what the point was standing in the q at breakfast to be lead to a table? Surely we could just sit down. Food was rubbish, only good if you liked chips, certainly not up to a four star standard. It was good however to receive the vouchers you could use in the park (although at night we had difficulty finding somewhere open that would take them). Pool side is dirty, never saw anyone hosing or cleaning the area (only cleaning away cups etc) sunloungers were dirty and uncomfortable. Lifeguards really blowing their whistles. The hotel was good for the access to the park but I wouldn't have liked to pay peak prices for what we got. The maid service was also rubbish, I don't think our floors were washed the whole stay as our feet were dirty when coming out the shower, also don't think they changed our sheets. Some days we would head to our room at 4pm and it was still not cleaned. We ate in the Mexican restaurant which was ok, but they didn't know how to cook steak well done. Overall I would only recommend this hotel for a few nights stay as you will quickly become sick of the food thats on offer.
we went to this hotel with our family and friends and it was wonderful when we arrived we was early and thought we would have to wait but they already had our rooms ready our rooms was exactly as we had requested and they had put us next door to each other the rooms was clean and fresh and were cleaned every day fresh towels were also provided every day but be sure to leave them on the floor in the morning or the cleaners wont take them. the staff were fantastic and tried there hardest to please at all times the pools were lovely and clean and the kids loved them however the sand grit part is not nice to walk on but that is at the far ends so we just stayed off there. pool bars are great and the staff were lovely joking with my little one over her ice cream trying to pass it through the glass she fell for it first time but not after that! food was good and there was always something for us to eat theme parks were fantastic but be prepared to que if you go in peak time we found that if we went early in the morning or late in the evening waiting time was not very much water park was fantastic and in my opinion that was where you got the best meal deals from but everyone is different we did find that if you d not go down early to pool and put towels on sun loungers then you would struggle to get any so bare that in mind as by 10am they were taken entertainment at night was great the kids loved the mini disco giving a much needed break for us and the staff worked so hard entertainment after that was quite good i enjoyed it most evenings thank you to all the staff who helped to make this a very enjoyable holiday especially the two woman that did the mini disco my kids loved you.
My partner and I went here on holiday for 2 weeks from 02.09.07 and really enjoyed our stay. The hotel as a whole and our room was clean and tidy - air conditioning was amazing! We were all inclusive which also included unlimited entry to portaventura world along with food vouchers for the park. Food in the hotel - could not complain at all, wide variety of food for breakfast lunch and dinner; definitely something for everyone. I'm a fussy person when it comes to food and was more than happy with the range of it all. All inclusive drinks were also very good, was impressed that it included cava and 'proper' coca cola, fanta etc and not own brands. There were also snacks available throughout the day by the bar at the pool so if you were to miss food times or just want something this was there. There wasn't much in the way of hotel entertainment except a kids disco that went on til about 10pm, but that didn't bother us as could walk to the park for the evening entertainment as only a few min walk (literally next door). All staff were helpful and spoke good english. We would definitely go again! The main part of Salou was not too far, about 20 min walk too, with lots of shops and nightlife. The only complaint was there was an awful lot of mosquitoes and wasps around and I was eaten alive and ended up at the doctors.
Where do I start with this review, firstly what is it with the sand / grit it's not nice to walk on or for your kids to play in . If you like wasps this is the place for u . We couldn't just sit a eat in the snack bar without 1 joining u or maybe 3 our little boy pick 1 up at 1 point . ( made us laugh ) .food was ok if you liked burgers, hot dogs , pizza chips , there was only 1 nite me and my wife liked was when they had fresh king prawns . But apart from that it's was always near aunff the same food . Pudding was ok . Kids mini disco finished at about 10 then not a lot to do apart from play pool / air hockey . Entertainment was in the theme park . With it been a big hotel it would have some kind of entertainment on do u didn't have to leave the hotel .All inclusive was good on the alcohol side . The indoor kids area at the back of the swimming pool area is used as storage . And there isn't a pool bar like the photo shows . The lifeguards like there whistles it's like a 90s rave without the white gloves lol . Got to say the bar staff was ok , they had manners . Kids loved the very large candyfloss and all u can eat icecream and slushes, Didn't need to get up early of a sunbed plenty to chose from . Our room was ok with a double bed and a set of bunk beds for the lads to sleep in . There must be a shortage of toilet roll in the hotel, at 1 point we had to go hunting for sum but didn't get any for nearly a full day . We as a family sed we wouldn't come back to this hotel . 2 adults and 4 kids in our party .
