This hotel is ok. Nothing special. Our apartment was clean and had all the facilities we needed as a base camp. Only thing that I was miffed about was the pool area. You can't eat, drink, smoke, no inflatables in the pool AND you have to pay 1euro for a sun bed???!!!! It's the worst pool area I've ever come across. Hotel is close to beach which is a plus. Don't go expecting the ritz or to have fun round the pool.
Room was basic but comfortable. Had everything you would need for your stay. Pool was closed during our viist in October even thoigh it was supposed to be year round. Had a sea view from our apartment.
We just returned from a week at the Ona Club Novelty. After I'd booked our reservation in January, I began seeing reviews that caused me concern about the rooms. I am happy to report those concerns were unfounded. We found the facility met our expectations. Having traveled in Europe many times we realize the rooms are small and generally quite simple. This is the case at Ona, yet it had everything we needed. It was comfortable, very convenient to the beach, the bus stop, and dining, and the rooms were clean. We had housekeeping service every other day which was adequate for our needs. We would stay there again if traveling to Salou.
We have just enjoyed a week in an appartment here and were not disappointed. Yes the appartment is a little "tired" and in need of updating but it is adequate for our needs. Staff were helpful and cleaning was very satisfactory The only downsides were the poor Wifi and lack of on site parking
Great swimming pool! Two swimming pools for kids (one for toddlers, and one for kids). Lifeguard by the pool, and sunbeds for rent (1 EUR). Great location. However, the apartment did not look like the photos at all! The standard was lower, we had everything we needed, but I don't like the feeling of being fooled by nice photos. There were little things that made the stay less than perfect. The cleaners removed things from our room that should have been there (one night they took 2 of 4 pillows, next night they took 2 of 4 sheets...). WiFi was not working in our apartment. The front desk was happy to provide us with tickets to Port Aventura, but they got the wrong tickets, and we ended up waiting one hour to fix them in the heat. The front desk was not open at check out time! Just a note on the front door saying "back in 20 minutes". After 30 minutes outside of the office, we turned our keys in at the neighbor reception, and just made it to the train station in time.
Beach wonderful, local salou and cabrile restaurant great value if you have menu of the day. About €18 euros for 3 courses including wine or beer. You can get a train direct to Barcelona for the day about an hour twenty minutes. Do go to Sagrada familia, wonderful cathedral. Local golf courses reasonable if you book thro golf in Spain. Weather in the first week of June, the beginning of their season, ideal about 23 degrees.hotel ona novelty is right in the middle of Salou near everything. Pool great altho no other amenities but not needed really. Self catering 3 star apartment clean and adequate. Good value.
Location was great, yes, on the beach front line. But I wouldn't consider this a 3* The Room was very dirty when we arrived, the bathtub was very disgusting with hairs from the previous people. Towels dirty upon our arrival and every time they changed the they kept on coming dirty ones "in disguise". Not to mention dirty bed sheets. About the Kitchen, it was never cleaned by staff they never empty dust bins. We made a complaint in reception but I think they didn't have any control of cleaning staff. In Resume don't expect a clean holiday here.
In our stay in Salou we coincide with the celebration of the festival of Jaume I so enjoyed some of the medieval market and the representations of the time, apart from the beautiful fountains along the promenade. The hotel offers a fully equipped kitchen, which although small has everything you need. The hotel is located very close to the beach and really near to a good selection of restaurants. The outdoor pool is the most fun place for children, however it is the first hotel we stayed an outdoor pool with rented sunbeds :(
Me, my husband and daughter (5 years old) stayed at this hotel from 11.06 till 15.06.2015. I can say that probably this hotel is better than average in Salou, and its good for its price but nothing more, because I have other hotels in Spain to compare with, and they win against Ona Club Novelty. The staff speaks some english and this is enough to find common ground. Apartments are well cleaned, the kitchen is well equiped, but furniture it the apartment and decoration are tired and need small renovation: mirrors on the closet door were broken on the corners, coffee table had spots and hole, wallpaper were torned in some visible places, water was dripping from the boiler.... Also I have questions to design solution (it's a little bit strange sometimes). The worst things here is free WiFi and conditions to sleep. Only one device from 4 managed to connect to WiFi access point, herewith the speed were low and connection were constantly braking. As for sleeping. Since it were hot even at night we had two options: sleep with air conditioner ON and with open window. To cool bedroom you have to switch contitioner located in the main room onto full power and set very low temperature, though one sleeping area is just in front of the conditioner. So it is not suitable if someone sleeping on it. And it is impossible to sleep with open windows, because of the morning (04:00-08:00 am) noise from arriving or leaving guests or staff: they are speaking and laughing too loud. May be situation is better in the apartments which have no windows looking on the road and entrance to the building (we've got an appartment on the second floor right above the Ona Novelty II building entrance). Nevertheless, we are not wery demanding travelers, so it was ok for us, especially that the hotel is located near the beach and in walking distance to small supermarket, restaurants and free parking place (but you have to be lucky to find places there at friday evening and on saturday and sunday :) ).
We arrived at the hotel in the afternoon to find out our apartment wasnt ready. Previously I had been in contact with the hotel to let them know our time of arrival. We were given keys to an apartment in the second block in the hotel which was further back and even more dated then the first building. The recepionst who seemed very friendly and informative actually was very inaccurate in some of the information we recieved from him. We proceeded to our apartment as we entered into the second building. It was very dated and was nothing like what we had seen in photos. We entered our apartment and we were shocked. It was very small, dated and absolutely nothing like any of the photos we had seen. The kettle didnt work, there was a damp smell off the bed and from previous reviews I had read I had expected so much more. The air conditioning was only in the main room and not in the bedroom. It was no way suitable for 2 people nevermind 4, which it is ment to sleep. After little thought we left the hotel and arranged different accomodation. I will now always be more cautious when reading reviews and looking at photoshopped photos.
