We thought the room very sparse but clean, we had to buy our own kettle from local shop...but the room was cleaned daily and had no complaints. ..we had breakfast the first couple of days but ate out after that because staff (too busy setting tables for lunch and very confusing on where to sit as tables had reservations labels on them and staff got annoyed if you sat on a certain table!

Worn hotel in the need of total renovation. Rooms are small and noisy and not comfortable at all. Staff is mostly very rude and ignorant. We booked half board. Food was terrible like straight from the tin. At breakfast only fresh thing was half tomatoes and some apples. Food was cold and looked as bad as it tasted. What is even worse is that even we had booked half board drinks were not inclueded - not soft drinks, not even water! We found that really odd especially as it was not stated anywhere when we booked. Luckily we found many nice restaurants nearby. All in all we can not recommend this hotel to anyone. You will find many much cheaper options with way better quality!

In general this hotel is badly managed, over priced and desperately in need of investment. We had a one bedroom apartment. The rooms are extremely dingy and dark. There was no window in our bedroom, the floor was filthy, the fridge was full of ice and the safe did not work. The balcony was a joke. It was so small, there is no way we could have sitten out there to relax or have a meal. We paid almost 1200 for 8 nights for this awful room and it didn't include any food or anything extra. We were not allowed to park our car there despite the fact that parking is advertised. We were also without hot water and electricity for part of our stay.

Only interested in your money. Full of posters of prohibitions. The hotel manager unable to handle any contingency. Certainly had never lived a situation so grotesque that we will live like my family and I during one week in July 2016 we were staying. Disastrous. Housekeeping and general workers do their work corrected. I think that in recent years has changed direction, because we have experienced this week was Dantesque, and I doubt that this way of working can keep the hotel open much longer. Many more people complained to the reception but without success. A shame that hotels like this detract from the Catalan coast. Attitudes like this should punish and withdraw the license to practice. Shame!

As many other reviewers have mentioned, the hotel is old and while you can see they are doing an effort to keep things fresh the hotel does need maintenance in a few areas. It is very well located near the beach and the main boulevard. It has 2 pools that are suitable for children. And the hotel does invest a lot in entertainment, there are pool sports before noon and from 4pm to 12am a full program of pool games, arts and crafts, and some show or bingo in the evening. The train can be heard but if you have a pool-facing room this will likely not be a problem. Old, yet family friendly.

The location of the hotel is excellent, only a minutes walk from a great beach and numerous shops and restaurants. The staff were friendly and helpful. The 'apartment' itself was a disappointment. It was dark, dated and very small for up to four persons. The kitchen facilities were pretty much non existent. Our room looked out on to the railway tracks which were less than 100 feet from our balcony. No such thing as double glazing here! Every time a train passed it was as if it was going through our room. This was very regular after 6.30 am daily. On our last night we had the added pleasure of every thump of the nightclub nearby until 6am! Oh yes, the shower experience leaves a lot to be desired, roasting hot one minute, freezing the next. We didn't get to use the pool at all as there was either water aerobics or kids club taking place anytime we were there. This kids entertainment went on until 11pm each night by the pool which made it difficult to sit out with a drink. Wi fi in the room was non existent and patchy in the public areas. I would return to Calafell but not to this establishment I am sorry to say.

We stayed there for 5 days and the stay was ok. the rooms are a little run down. also the rooms that say they have a view of the town and mountains just have a view of apartments and a train, which is loud---- so take the rooms with the pool view. I was pulled aside once in the lobby to verify that I was staying there which was annoying, not a nice way to treat a guest. the door handle of our balcony fell off when we tried to open it which tells me they knew that it was broken but did nothing to fix it.

The hotel front desk staff was so helpful, it is beyond one can imagine or expect. We had already checked out at that point and they had no obligation to help us but they went above and beyond. I have stayed in 5 star hotels to Hostels in my life, I am equal opportunity traveler but the service here was THE BEST one can ever have.

Stayed here couple of times in September during the High rockabilly festival. Hotel offers great value for money you pay. It is places on the second line from the sea but it is only 2 min walking to the beach. It is also at the end of shopping street so you'll be close to whatever you may need: supermarkets, medication and liquer stores. Also it is 7 min walking to the railway\bus station from where you can get to Port aventura, Barcelona, figueras etc. Hotel rooms are cosy and cleaned daily, you can ask for double bed. For extra money you can book apartments which will have separate kitchen. Breakfast lunches and diners are best hotel can offer: huge selection of vegetables, salads and meat always. Calafell surely has lots of small cheap restaurants around where you can have a diner, but I prefer to take all included in Solimar, in case I'm too lazy for going out. As it was previously mentioned: walls are tiny and don't have enought sound isolation. Wifi is capricious and works mostly in the pool area.
