H10 Salauris Palace located 10 minute walk to the shops, restaurants and beach. Also around 10 minutes to Portaventura and Ferrari Land. Check In We arrived at the Salauris Palace at around 10am, Victoria greeted us and was really friendly. She explained that our room wouldn't be ready until around 1.30pm but there is a secure room with changing facilities and a shower where you can leave your luggage. She needed to scan in our passports and we also had to pay Accommodation Tax (€14 for two people for a week). Room Our room (319) was spacious with two huge single beds with three pillows each, we found them really comfortable as we like firm mattresses. We were on the pool side of the hotel but further towards the back, away from the entertainment so it didn't disturb us in the evening, this also meant we got the sun in the afternoon. There was a wardrobe but only four small drawers, we would have preferred to have more drawer space instead of the big armchair in the corner. A safe and fridge are supplied free of charge but as your room key is also the card you have to insert into a slot to get power into the room, we wondered if the fridge was on when we were out. Our bathroom was large with a bath that had a shower attachment, the water was always plentiful and hot. There were some little bottles of shower gel and shampoo supplied as well as soap, tissues, a shower cap and a comb. The towels were big and fluffy and you chose when you wanted them replaced. The only negative we had was that we used to go out after breakfast and leave the 'please tidy me' sign on the door. A couple of times when we returned at around 1.30pm, the room still hadn't been done! By then we would usually be hot and tired and looking forward to relaxing without interruption. Facilities There is a large pool and we had read reviews saying there were loads of sunbeds, which there were. Unfortunately there didn't seem to be enough space around the pool to put them all out so we either went to the beach or on the rooftop terrace. There is a poolside bar and snack bar, we tried the bar on our first day but the barman wasn't very friendly so we never returned. The rooftop terrace is lovely with great views, it has a jacuzzi and is adults only, so is nice and peaceful. No shade though. There is also an indoor pool which also has a jacuzzi next to it plus a gym, steam room and sauna. You are not allowed in this pool without a swimming cap. We also found an indoor bar, small library area, a shop, an amusement arcade, some pool tables and a table tennis table. There is entertainment going on most of the day and evening. Food We really couldn't fault the food. We were staying on a half board basis. Breakfast is served from 7.30am-10.30am and dinner 7.00pm-10.00pm. There was so much choice, for breakfast there is the normal fried food, cold meats, cheese, cereals, yoghurt's, toast, churros, fruit, cakes and pastries. There is a counter where the man will make you an omelette, I also saw pancakes and ham & cheese toasties there. There is even a 'healthy counter' with Actimel yogurts, brown muffins and diet jam! There are machines where you can get tea, coffee, hot chocolate and juice, plus we saw bottles of sparkling wine! Having been to Salou before we know how many lovely restaurants there are in the area so we only ended up eating in the hotel restaurant three times during the week. On each occasion we found a dish we wanted, the menu varies each evening but there was always pizza. One evening we had steak pie which was very nice, another we had veal. The dessert choice is good too, with various cakes and six flavours of ice cream plus rice pudding, fruit and cheese and crackers. When you go for your evening meal, you must take the card that was given to you on check in. You show this at the door then will be given a slip of paper for the person to record your drink orders on. On the way out of the restaurant, present this to the person behind the till and they will take your payment. We did enjoy our stay at this hotel but probably wouldn't return as we really only need a bed & breakfast, and we also discovered we prefer to stay somewhere closer to the beach.
We have just returned from Salauris Palace spending 10 days half board with our 3 year old wee boy. Absolutely fantastic hotel within walking distance of the beach and Portaventura theme and water parks. It has to be said that the staff at this hotel are exemplary in their relationship with guests. All staff were brilliant with our wee boy giving him loads of attention even if we were only walking past. There was one particular member of staff in the dining room who takes payment for drinks following dinner. She was just amazing with our wee boy who he still talks about now that we are home. He calls her the Chuppa Chupp Lady! The choice and quality of the food in the buffet breakfast and dinner was nothing short of excellent. You really are spoiled for choice! The rooms were airy, comfortable and very clean. This was our first time abroad with our wee boy and everything was nothing short of perfect. We will definitely be returning to Salauris Palace next year. Thank you to all staff who have made this holiday such a memorable one for all of us. Highly recommend!
Sitting poolside on my last day here. Highly recommend this hotel. Lovely quiet location . We requested a roadside portaventura view by email and we got it. Poolside is extra and noisy. Staff extremely helpful even to the point of linking an elderly lady to help her get dinner . The food is top class and varied bound to find something you likr. I have stayed at the villa romama before and the food here is much much better. But the only downfall is there can be.a que at busy periods. Its all around a center area and no distinction between fruit main course etc. But having said that no more than a few.mins. We had a massive family room four proper beds(no pull out couch thingy). If you are a pool hound and stay poolside all day. You may have to que for your"specific spot". I dont mind an hour or so poolside but not all day so it didnt bother me. The doors to rhe pool dont open till 9 to prevent people reserving beds. I saw people mostly those over 60 queuing at 8.30 am for the pool . Loads of space out there dont know why maybe just to get a parasol. Would definitely return
When we arrived at the hotel, the outside looked well kept, clean and fresh, as did the reception. We arrived at the check in desk with a number of others, the que for check in moved fairly quickly, we waited no more than 10 mins. The majority of staff were very pleasant and helpful. We arrived around 11.30am but we couldn't check in till 2 which wasn't a problem. The info they gave us was very clear and helpful. After check in we ate at the outside resturant, we ordered toasties and drinks. The drinks are ok priced but the toasties were very expensive and to be honest very poor quality (they used stale pizza bread instead of fresh bread and the ham was a little yucky). We didn't eat there again after that, I would stick to the main resturant for food. We received a room facing portaventura on the second floor, the view was lovely, a room on a higher floor would have been even better. The room was also facing the road but there is minimal noise from it, it never bothered us. I wouldn't have fancied a pool facing room as they blast music and there are people talking from morning till night. The free electronic safe and fridge proved very useful. I would reccomend bringing a kettle, tea/ coffee, we found it nice having a drink in the morning/ night on the balcony. The fridge is big enough to stock littre bottles of water and milk. The room was very clean and the maid staff did a very good job each day cleaning it/ restocking essentials. Though one of the rooms we stayed in had quite a lot of ants running around. There were a few cracks in the tiles, stains on the wall etc but nothing major. The room is fairly big, as are the balconys, probably the biggest room we have stayed at in salou. There is also a built in drying rack on the balcony. The beds were clean and fresh but the matresses are very very firm. At first I thought it would be an issue but though firmer than I would have liked they still proved comfortable enough for a good night sleep. The showers have good water preasure and I liked having a glass shower door rather than a curtain. Though on occasion the water would turn hot then cold then hot again, so be careful. One issue I did have was not so much the hotel but other guests. The walls are fairly thin and you can hear everything in the room above and the rooms next to you and especially the corridors. Often I was woken by screaming children running down the corridor or worse shouting groups of men making their way down. Unfortunately it's something that can happen at any hotel, you might want to request to be moved as far away from the elevators to help reduce the amount of people walking past your room. We stayed half board and the meals were always very good, we never waited more than a minute for a table which were always clean, although the cutlery were sometimes a little stained. Breakfast consisted of eggs, sausages, bacon (well what Spain calls bacon) etc. Their bakery section was very good, they always had a host of tasty pastries (croissants and donuts) even fresh churros. The fresh fruit was also good, especially the honey mellon and watermellon. They also serve fresh orange juice and pretty decent coffee which I was pleased about, often I found in other hotels it is undrinkable. Dinner was also good, good selection of meats, potato dishes, veg and fresh breads. Desserts were yummy, especially with the self serve icecream section. Drinks are not included at dinner but a one litre bottle of water is only €2.40 and did our table of 3 each night. I am a pretty picky eatter and I always found something to suit me, there are both casual items e.g. pizza and burgers to more adventurous items e.g. lobster, patte. Most of items stay the same each night but there are some variations on the mains and desserts. Compared to a lot of the places to eat at in salou, the food here is hard to beat. The resturant staff were very hard working, to be honest nearly all the staff in the hotel were and also very pleasant. The pool, sun roof top and other facilities are well kept although we didn't use them much. The location of the hotel is one of its biggest perks, you are only a pleasant 10-15 minute walk into town or to the portaventura park. As you walk further into town it gets a lot noiser, it's nice to be so close but to be away from the noise of the central area. Because the hotel is so close to portaventura expect to encounter a fair amount of young children, this didn't bother us but for a couple looking for a romantic break it might. Over all we had an amazing stay and I would highly reccomend it to others. We hope to go back again soon.
Had an amazing time at the salauris palace with a group of 10 people. Staff are so friendly and helpful. The rooms are massive and the wheelchair accessible rooms are perfect. The pool area is lovely and gets the sun all day. The food was great and the little shop was very handy. It's close enough to walk to the strip and beach but far enough away that you don't hear all the bustle from it
Just back from a week in salou at h10 salauris. Fab hotel, only 5 min walk to portaventura world. bout 10 min walk to beach with lots of shops etc. Hotel is friendly and clean. We had a 2nd floor room that faced onto street but could see the ferrari land tower from our balcony. we travelled as 2 adults and 2 children (4yrs and 10yrs) the room was very spacious and maids cleaned and changed towels every day. Food was good, a lot of variety, meats, pizzas, pasta etc. always something to find to eat. Pool are was good always sunbeds, only nibble i had was u werent allowed inflatables which isnt clearly sign posted unless i missed it. only found this out once i bought 2 inflatables. but u are allowed small boat ones for small children which was perfect for my 4 year old. the highlight of the hotel is the animation team, alix and cole went to some of the mini club days. they loved paula and sofia they are great with the kids. animation team are a credit to the hotel. kids loved the mini disco also. night time entertainment was brill, my favourite mister hotel 😂 i have not laughed so much in ages. again the 3 guys in the animation team are fab at their job too. always including guests during day/night for activites but not being too pushy. all in all it was our first time in salou and i would definetely go back and stay in this hotel again. ps we flew thomas cook, not much price difference in their activity prices we booked 3days 2parks for portaventura/caribe splashpark. it was 290 euros for this. splash park was great. i would say the kids bit at portaventura most rides were for above 1.10m so only a handful of rides my 4yr old could go on despite being with adult. also took a daytrip to barcelona 25.50 for adults and 19 for kids. bus picked us up at 08.30, arrived in barcelona at 10.30 after picking others up. we had free time until 5pm where we met the bus at a central location. nou camp and barcelona zoo is a must the zoo is fab. check online for zoo prices as they had 50 % off deal on their site so got 4 of us in for 30euros instead of 70.
just back from a week stay at H10 Salauris Palace for a family holiday. Brilliant hotel in a great location beach and shops only 10mins walk away. We had a family room looking onto Portaventura which was very quiet and got the sun first thing in morning. There was 2 adults and 2 children room was very big and they supplied a travel cot for the 1 year old. Food was amazing so much choice we had half board breakfast and dinner even a fussy eater would find something to like. pools were very good and no problem to get a sun bed. Loved the roof top adult only terrace with jacuzzi. safe and fridge in room were free but was 4 Euro a day for kettle (just bring your own) maids came in every day and cleaned up and gave fresh towels which was lovely Staff were all very friendly and helpful. animation team were so good with the children especially Sofia and Paula, Hadlee was only 3 but they let him join in at the pool with other children's games and gave him a certificate on last night he was so thrilled. cant wait to go back next year. would definitely recommend this hotel.
Just got back from our 2nd visit to this hotel had a really fabulous time.Eveything really good .Great food brilliant staff especially the young man on reception. We arrived about 10am and came prepared for a wait for our room but it was ready straight away.
Our 3rd stay in 4 years and we were not disappointed. Very little has changed - a good thing! On arrival greeted with a smile and an efficient check-in, with everything explained. Room - facing Port Adventure, gets the early morning sun. Rooms changed daily. Food - great variety for both breakfast and dinner. Staff friendly, work really hard and are personable. Bar staff are attentive and really good at their job. Pool area can get busy and sun beds and shades are premium - however when it is busy if the beds are left unattended too long staff will remove towels to allow others to enjoy the use of the facilities. However, for us the animation team are exceptional - congratulations to Rafa and co. Encouraging, but not pushy. Mini club (Sofia & Paula) loved by our daughter. Overall, a great hotel whose hard working staff make your stay so enjoyable.
Great hotel 10 mins from theme park, very friendly staff, very clean and nice food too. Best thing of all no Germans up at 3am hogging sun beds as the pool doesn't open till later. Salou is a lovely place
