Stayed in June 2017 and booked with Jet2 who were wonderful. Hotel is in great location with bars and shops directly opposite. Pool area lovely with lots of sunbeds. Rooms small but well equipped. Would have liked a clothes line though either on the balcony or in the bathroom as nowhere to dry towels or swimming costumes unless you tied them to the plastic patio chairs. Beds were rock solid. I'd read on TA that some people had requested mattress toppers which is what I did on the second day. It made a slight improvement and I didn't wake up with numb arms or bum! Food was average. Breakfast was the same every day. Lots of choice but got a bit boring after a week. Dinner was pretty much the same. The roast meats that changed on a daily basis were lovely but the rest of the food was bland and repetitive. The paella was also nice but often dried up as not many people had it. Had the soup once but was so salty I couldn't eat it. Never had it again. Drinks were reasonably priced and staff were quick to come and take your order. You were allocated a seat at dinner but a free for all at breakfast. Never ate lunch there so can't comment on that. Entertainment was low key, although they had something on every night. Getting a decent sunbed by the pool was a challenge. Most people were queuing up at 9am waiting for the pool to open. They'd then rush out and 'bag' their sunbed. The hotel say that they will remove towels from reserved beds but I only saw this happen once. Rooftop pool was lovely. Nice and quiet too with a small plunge pool for cooling down. A nice stay and would probably stay at this hotel again if I ever went back to Salou but would probably go on room only or B&B basis and make use of the restaurants and bars in the town.
A 4* Hotel but it doesn't warrant that rating. The Hotel is very clean. The bedroom was kept very clean. The food was nowhere near excellent. It was ok food @ the best. Waitresses would talk between themselves over our table which is rude. We couldn't order a glass of wine for our meal, we had to order a bottle. Reception staff were never in a great rush to deal with the customers. We are not in a great rush to go back.
this hotel is clean and ok if your an OAP i am 66 and i was told by security not to make any noise in the rooms and not to have a radio on , i did not enjoy my stay at this hotel as i like to have fun when on holiday
The hotel offers good service - We found the rooms to be spotlessly clean, were on the 4th floor so no noise issues from below; but would agree with others in that there is a soundproof issue in the rooms. The food enjoyable most evenings, but our gripe was the pool , the water was icy cold, no wonder bathers would take a dip in for a second and come straight out - if this was addressed we would rate more highly as the rest of the hotel is beautiful, and its in a great location
My partner and I, stayed at this lovely hotel, from 29th Sept 2017 for one week. The hotel was lovely and clean. The food is of a high standard. The hotel is in a great position. It is a 5 minute walk to the sea front, and the lovely walk along the promenade. Plenty of bars close to the hotel. The pools at the base of the hotel, can be shaded. So we used the roof top plunge pool. There is around 20 sun lounger. It opens at 10 am until 6pm.There is generally a q of half a dozen people at 10am. We perfered the rooftop as it was not shaded.. Plenty of parasols if needed. My only negative about the delfin is that the room walls are very thin. So noise at either side could be heard. The drinks are very reasonable €2, 80 for a pint of Estelle cheaper than some of the bars in salou. A very enjoyable stay.
Recently stayed at this hotel for a week and returned today.Good bits about the hotel; Lovely pool and bar areas Clean rooms Great central location Reasonably priced drinks Some great staff notably bar and restaurant staff. The hotel in my opinion could be much improved by; Better sound proofing....noise from other rooms and neighbouring hotel terrible ..we didnt have a good nights sleep while we were there. Food...contrary to other reviews we found the food okay but disappointing eg soups/breads/jams/juice all pretty poor quality..salads and sweets were repeated every day..no variety and quite bland. Customer service...when we arrived at around 10am we were told that our room could be ready at any time before 2pm and to return to the desk half hourly to check,,the receptionist explained that they clean rooms in order of those checking in..however ours wasnt ready until 2pm...wasnt a problem but others who arrived after us clearly had their rooms before us...so why not be honest and upfront?? On entering our room the smell of cigarette smoke was overwhelming.Fortunately there was another room just 2 doors away that we were able to move to later that evening..but no apology....just a feeling that we were being a bit difficult. (I always try to explain/complain in a positive way). At dinner there are 2 sittings 7.45 and 8.30pm ..yet some guests complained that at the 8.30 sitting their table wasnt ready..and we werent asked which sitting we wanted. For a 4 * hotel this doesnt seem great to me.We were lucky to be allocated the earlier sitting which was our preference. Rooms were clean but our bath was very badly scratched and in need of replacement.Floors were laminated but woodchip still on the walls. No daytime entertainment and evening entertainment all the same ie local singer or duo..pretty poor. No English TV channels except news (ok we dont go away to watch the TV but as entertainment was poor would have been a bonus) Our bus departure time was 7.25 this morning. I asked last evening if we could have an early breakfast and was told no the restaurant doesnt open till 7.45. I was told that a breakfast would be delivered to our room. It wasnt! The night receptionist whos English wasnt great simply told us restaurant doesnt open till 7.45....not great note to leave on.. We stayed at the Avenida Suites in Salou with our daughter and her young family in May...a childrens hotel/ resort..we went all inclusive and had a suite rather than a room and paid the same for our week in the H10 Delfin at half board all adult hotel in October. I would choose the Golden Avenida suites/Port Salou hotel over the Delfin unless you need to be bang in the centre. I should add that it is now the last week of the season and we may have experienced poor service/food quality/entertainment because of this. Also never saw the hotel manager around the hotel..think service is always better when management are visible.
we had a suite (605), fabulous room with a great terrace, this is the best one of all. food was good all round. only one minor complaint, the mattress was hard. wouldn't it be possible to have a firm and a soft mattress in the same room, especially considering the age of the guests. music wasn't selected very well for the age of the audience. overall somewhere that I would go back to.
My wife and I spent a week from 30th September at the hotel and found it well placed for the beach no nightlife and shops. The beach is two streets away, a great little supermarket is opposite and the brown cow is good for food and drinks. The bar called lazy wave nearby did bingo and had good nightlife but the hotel seemed to cater for the French and didn't seem to bother with the Brits. The staff were relaxed towards the Brits too, but the food was fantastic and the hotel was clean with the maids being diligent. The only problems we found were the thin walls allowing us to hear most of what the neighbours (who regularly argued) were arguing about and security. On the last night of the stay we had someone enter our room as we slept and steal all our money but could not report it as we only discovered the theft when we were in the coach leaving for the airport. My advice would be to place your valuables close to you and block the door when at the apartment.
Stopped from 30th September to 7th October and found the hotel clean and close to the beach but the nightlife was disappointing as it's too geared towards the catering for the French and Russians. The staff were relaxed but again seemed to cater more for the French than the Brits. Would recommend the brown cow and super writer opposite the hotel and just around the corner is the lazy wave, another good (although rough and ready) place at nighttime. Would recommend a room with a pool view as the hotel is two streets back from the beach, but we found little noise from the street at our balcony. The only noise issue was the walls are rather thin and certain guests were a little noisy at night for various reasons. The only problem we had and would certainly say to all travellers, is to guard you valuables and money closely. On the last night of our stay someone accessed our room whilst we slept and we had over £500 in euros and sterling stolen. Unfortunately, when I realised this we were on the coach to the airport and could not report it to the hotel or police before we left the country and sending emails to the police only raises a reference number and crimes don't seem to be investigated. We also emailed the hotel but have yet to hear any reply.
Just spent a week at the H10 Delfin Hotel Salou, with my wife and adult daughter, very friendly staff, sent us for our dinner at 9:30pm instead of checking in, lovely hotel with great areas for sun bathing sitting or watching the nightly entertainment, more than enough to eat with a wide variety of food on each menu, centraly located in the middle of Salou yet like an oasis of quiet, guests mainly over 50s and small but spotless rooms, and excellent staff throughout, only regret is we only went for a week, would definitely make it 10 days or 14 next time, and thanks to Jet2 and High Ridings Travel in Birstall who made it happen, great hotel great holiday.
