the hotel had its pros and cons. The area is great as you have loads of restaurants and shops to go and visit, the beach and everything are on your doorstep really. good place to stay as well if you're wanting to go to portaventura its not a long walk there which is good and saves you some money if you are able to walk about 20/25 minutes, depends how fast you walk there! Room the room itself was good, bit on the small side as i was sharing with my brother (32 years) and mum so it felt a bit small for us. the balcony was lovely however it would of been nice if the glass was see through so you could look at the world go by but the glass was tinted blue but not a see through blue which i do understand for privacy reasons etc. the bathroom was good however the hairdryer isn't great, takes a while to dry your hair and gets really hot. the room has air conditioning which is really good. the telly was a little bit of a let down as theres no english channels or barely any, but luckily we spent hardly any time in the room on our holiday at all. the one thing my brother and mum didn't like particularly was the fact there was no tea or coffee facilities in the room and you have to pay a deposit of 20 euros if you want this but they only give you mugs and a kettle so you have to supply the tea, coffee, milk etc yourself! couldn't use the mini fridge either as you'd have to pay a deposit to use it also but overall the room was lovely and clean. Pools and hotel overall there are 3 pools at the hotel which are all lovely, one is a roof top pool! there's a little games room and a gym and a bar outside that you can get food or ice creams from. the food at breakfast and dinner was also good but sometimes the same choices each night, only downfall is you have to pay for water at dinner time if you want anything to drink and you're not aloud to take your own bottle of water down with you otherwise you'll get told off! The hotel will kindly swap dinner for a lunch if you are half board and want to have dinner out which i think is really good. Another thing that let the hotel down was when we arrived we got told a 20 euro deposit had to be paid for the room (to make sure nothing got broken while we stayed etc) and that we would get this back at the end of our holiday but when i went to get this back a lady member of staff said that it was for room tax which i think is a tad cheeky considering how much you pay for the holiday before hand and it should be included when you're booking the holiday and she was a bit rude about this. the lifts are a bit on the small side! overall the hotel is amazing its a 4 star hotel and most of the staff are friendly. its very clean and lovely looking inside.plenty space outside for the pools and i would stay at this hotel again even with the little downfalls but you get that everywhere you go!
Brilliant location. Only a leisurely 5 minute stroll to the beach. Lots of bars and restaurants on the hotel doorstep. Spotlessly clean hotel. Lovely seating areas inside for relaxing during the day out of the sun, or also for having drinks at night. Bar and restaurant staff very helpful and friendly. Good prices in bar considering its a hotel. Room cleaned every day. Good air con and the wi fi is great in all areas of the hotel. Although food of a good standard, there could be a lot more choice when it comes to the main meal for a 4 star hotel. Very repetitive after 7 days, but overall it was fine. Also need to find a way to keep hot breakfast items a bit hotter, as if you don't get a fried egg as soon as its made, be prepared for lukewarm or cold. As most other reviewers have commented, it is ridiculous that you have to pay for a room fridge and safe for what is classed as a 4 star hotel. Another sore point for us with regards the fridge, was to see a comment from the hotel manager on trip advisor in one of his responses, that if you book direct with the hotel, then you get the fridge without paying extra? Well, we booked direct, and at no point was this offered to us when checking in. As we seen the comment about 5 days into our stay, we mentioned it to reception, but still were not offered the fridge for use. If it is indeed the case that this is included when booking direct, then management should ensure that this is taking care of when checking in. Did not have any problems in getting sunbeds, but as it was September, then most of the beds did not get the sun until after 10.30am anyway, due to the location of the pool. Entertainment in the hotel is not the best. Some background noise I suppose if sitting having a drink, but nothing that would get you hurrying to get a seat to make sure you did not miss it. Finally on the hotel, and has been mentioned from many reviewers, the walls are indeed paper thin. We were fortunate that we never had noisy neighbours during our stay, but we never really had to put our TV on in the morning, as although next doors volume was probably not overly loud, we could hear it clear enough every morning. No need to set our alarm! I pity those with noisier neighbours. There are a couple of good bars outside the hotel if you want to eat and drink there. We had lunch a few days at the Robin Hood bar, and the quality was good and fair priced. Also the Fox and Hound directly outside the hotel door was good for a drink at great prices. 3.5 Euro for Cocktail of the day and 1.8 Euro for a lovely pint of Estrella. Ate there 1 night and had the best steak we have had in years. Overall, we found Salou to be relatively cheap when drinking and eating. Good base for travelling to Barcelona on day trip. Also Tarragona is nice to visit.
Me and my boyfriend have just stayed in this hotel for a week and I found it had it's good points and it's bad The hotel staff are friendly but a found 1 or 2 a little rude sometimes. there's one guy in the restaurant that was canny he was always up for a laugh . The food is food you will find in any hotel ! If you can't make a meal from what is there you must be very fussy lol there is a lot on offer there is set times on a night and they show your to the tables that's free a found this to be a good thing because at breakfast time you can find it hard to find a place to sit The drinks on a night or just as cheap sometimes cheaper than some bars near by Pool ! All the pools are lovely there's 4 lol 2 small ones to put your feet in and 2 canny sized ones down fall is when people leave the towels there all day (not hotels fault I no) but there is a lot of beds out and spares. One day am sure the person that was sitting around the pool was a sleep for about 5mins lol but he must be bored lol they or clean and the water is tested we seen this done Rooms A found the rooms ok. A had read on here that the walls was thin my first day there a thought hmm no idea what people was on about but after that day you can hear next door more in the bathroom I.e toilet flushing bath running shower running. A found our room was cleaned for first 3 days and after that they just did our beds ... which or single beds by the way and made in to singles as well. The beds are hard ! And a mean hard by day 5 we both had back pain from them a like a firm bed but they where very hard ! The save is a key so means you have to carry that around all week which a found a lot saved than cords we didn't pay for the fridge as it was about €20 for the week and the shops across from the hotel if want cold drinks. If your on the balcony be careful of the big gap lol I almost lost me flip flop down it lol . Over all I found the room to b small but that could of been just the one we had Hotel entertainment 🙈🙈 ! This hotel has it's good and bad points it's in a great places for shops bars beach bus stops and train station I would never say to anyone don't go to this hotel because they mit like it But I wouldn't go back
Still here as I write this ... the staff in this hotel are amazing... so friendly and happy all the time... the receptionist was very welcoming when we got here and gave us tips on what to do... the room was perfect ,overlooking the pool. The food was lovely with plenty of variety every day.... location is perfect with a short walk to the beach and shopping area... highly recommend staying here....
Stayed at this hotel for 7 days with family and found it to be of a high standard. Booking in very quick and efficient with a nice glass of wine as a welcome. Staff all excellent and food hard to criticise. Just a couple of small issues that I believe could improve it further. The set dinner times not to everyone's preference. Why not have anytime and put up with a small queue. Also a pet hate of mine ....paying for a safe....Please all hotels stop doing this....cleanliness very good.Pool area had plenty of lounges and bar prices lower than outside bars...most welcome.Would recommend this hotel and would certainly stay here again.
Just returned from a weeks stay at this hotel. Reception and bar staff really helpful and friendly! Nice sized room which was clean enough on arrival- the cleaners don't clean the rooms daily they only make the beds and seem to throw belongs everywhere! Food is ok but very repetitive. Excellent air con and wifi! The worst thing about this hotel is having to pay to use everything- you don't expect this from a 4*. After reading a lot Of other reviews you would expect management to change the fact you have to pay to use the fridge or the safe. The fridge especially and I wouldn't stay here again for that reason. Pool area and hotel area lovely especially the new terrace pool!
I thought I would write this review as a bit of a Pros & Cons list for my stay at the H10 Hotel Delfin! So the Pros in no particular order •No kids - great peace and quiet •Clean - The hotel is immaculate, a fantastic team of housekeepers •Lovely foyer & bar area, plenty of seating for all types •Small library area •3 pools - The main pools downstairs open at 9am •Very friendly staff •Close to beach & shopping area, literally less than a 2minute walk. •Powerful shower - better than my own •Adequate room size for 2people sharing •The hotel will kindly swap dinner for a lunch if you are half board and want to have dinner out. •Entertainment nightly but may not be everyone's cup of tea •Could go on holiday here yourself and feel safe •Cameras in all the corridors and covering building •Free wifi •Good room air con but need to keep the balcony door closed •Good range of ages at the hotel The Cons •not enough loungers in larger pool area, tables and chairs should be stacked up during the day to allow room for more loungers. •The hotel is noisy, walls are paper thin, you can hear people talking, showering and flushing the toilet. •On arrival you have to Pay for the fridge and safe and Spanish tourist tax approx €50 altogether •No English tv channels, one BBC world news on a looped repeat. •Lifts - very small and constantly skipped levels •Beds- The beds we found to be hard so you can request a mattress topper free of charge which really helped. •Hairdryer powerful enough but gets very hot to hold •No tea or coffee making facilities for a 4star hotel, most English people desire this •Only €10 back checking out Food- good variety if you like to eat anything, very repetitive on a daily basis and the cold items were not refrigerated and the hot items were sometimes not hot enough. I'm a picky eater and struggled with it! Other points to note **BEWARE -Visited Tarragona and got pick pocketed €120 in the Parc Central shopping mall in a shop! The fox and hound right across the road from the hotel is cheap and cheerful, good selection on menu and serve a good cup of tea. Shopping - don't be expecting anything other than cheap souvenirs, with the exception of maybe 3-4 shop
Having just returned from this "4star" hotel it is definitely not all that its cracked up to be! Reception area lovely, staff too, rooms are same as any other hotel, food rubbish! Was a sore one too having to pay for lock box, fridge and tax we were 72 euros right away! I have been in several 4 star and this was not one of them, no extra wee touches that make a hotel to a great one! We will not be returning here unfortunately.
Stayed her on June 10th, beautiful hotel, well situated, very close to the beach, and amenities. Rooms of a good standard , had a pool view. Food not of a good standard, catered for the European guests more, rather than English. Staff could be a bit friendlier. Entertainment was average, mostly took place near the bar doors leading to the pool area, sometimes blocking the doors. Main problem is that all the local school teenagers stayed next to the hotel in apartments, and they partied non-stop ,all night every night. Throwing items from the balconies, and spitting on passers by. They had no respect for other people. Hotel security did nothing about the noise, and the police were called. There were group of about 20 youths , on every street that you turned onto. Would go back, but not when school is out!!!!
We are just back from the H10 Delfin adults only hotel in Salou. The hotel is beautiful, spotlessly clean and the staff are very hospitable. Look out for Saul the barman, very funny and all round good guy. We stayed on the 5th floor and the room was well maintained and very clean. The room itself was slightly small and not a lot of storage space but the air conditioning was great. You will need to rent the safe (approximately 34 euros for 11 days) which is standard but you also need to rent the fridge in your room which for a four star hotel I thought was a bit of a joke. The walls are very thin between rooms (you can hear people talking and TV's playing) and the beds are very firm. There are no irons or ironing boards in the rooms and according to my other half the hairdryer got so hot she had to dry her hair in stages. We stayed on a half board basis , breakfast / dinner and the food was very good and varied every day. We missed dinner on the first night due to arriving late and the hotel accommodated us by swapping it for a lunch later in the week. The hotel was very busy during our stay but we (seven of us) never seemed to have trouble getting sunbeds together. There is one big pool and a smaller one at the far side of the hotel. Pool opens at 9 in the morning and although there are signs up not to reserve sunbeds this still seems to happen. Drinks at the bar are quite expensive- a hefty 6 euros for a bottle of Magners cider and 1.60 euros for a small water. There are lots of other bars and restaurants just outside the hotel . The Fox and Hounds just opposite has delicious food and less expensive drinks. All in all we really enjoyed the H10 Delfin and will certainly consider returning again.
