if you dont mind 1 hour 40 minutes from the airport it is worth coming to Blanes. The hotel is opposite lots of shops and close to cafes and bars .The sandy beach and the most wonderful Market on a monday, it is big! The Hotel was comfortable, bed had a topper and it worked so well I had to set my alarm to wake up, pressure in the shower was the best,, staff lovely and so friendly, The pool was clean and looked really nice.... I never went in as the weather when we stayed was only hot for three days! but they had a jacuzzi and i used it when I wanted to chill out and when it was warm enough as they do not pump hot water into it. The food was fine and I always found something to eat, the worst thing was they had one night of singing, and we enjoyed having a dance, but after the first night it was football on all the tvs in the bar and lounge, you could not escape it, I hate footie, but this place is in a good spot. They also have a cafe at the hotel and do great menu, fave was pizzas and icecream.
Lovely hotel for price. All the staff were very friendly from dinning room to reception. Liked the idea going to restaurant to wait till seated...saved the restaurant being too over crowded. Room clean tidy and fresh towels every day. Great location near beach shops and bus station.
Excellent, friendly staff. Very attentive and helpful. Great location to the beach and shops. The staff had great recommendations on excellent restaurants. Cozy room, very clean and very clean building. Would stay again.
Always visited blanes but never this hotel. Faultless. Rooms good size. Staff lovely. Central location. Absolutely spotless. Hope to return again. Very busy and popular hotel. Could not wish for a better stay in blanes.
Myself, my husband and our 3 boys (aged 2, 7 and 10) stayed at the Stella Maris for 10 nights in August 2017. We arrived in the early hours due to a flight delay and were quickly showed to our room. We were very impressed with the size of our room which was more like an apartment with 2 bedrooms, bathroom, kitchen, living area, 2 balconies and even a washing machine. We stayed on a half board basis and were pleased with the food provided. There was plenty of choice at both breakfast and dinner reflecting the various nationalities staying at the hotel and the dining room staff were all very helpful and always took time to speak with us all (despite our woefully poor efforts at Spanish!). The apartment was very clean and was cleaned daily by our lovely cleaner who was always smiling and friendly. Our boys particularly enjoyed the pool and hot tub and the pool area and it's facilities were always spotlessly clean. Even though we visited in August there were always sun beds available and we often had the pool to ourselves! We visited the nearby beach on a few occasions but the sand is very coarse so wasn't ideal for our youngest. The hotel is situated next to a number of bars and a campsite so unfortunately there was quite a lot of noise at night and the bin men visit early nearly every morning which is why I haven't given full marks for the location. Other than that I would highly recommend this hotel for a relaxing family holiday for those who would chose to find their own entertainment rather than relying on their accommodation to provide it.
We visited in July 2017. The rooms were of a good size and had a nice balcony. The shower was poor but was adequate and the free air conditioning worked very well. We stayed Bed and Breakfast and found the breakfast to be varied with a wide choice available. The swimming pool and Jacuzzi were lovely. Always plenty of loungers available and we found no problem with sitting in the sun whatever time after 10.30am. We would say the downstairs of the hotel is stylish and the bedrooms could do with being updated a little. Location of hotel is superb being only 2 mins walk to the beach and there are 2 supermarkets within close proximity. All staff at the hotel were very friendly and helpful and willing to give advice on the resort. The hotel bar was welcoming and provided a good choice of beverages. I would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel to people wanting to stay in Blanes who are looking for a more authentic Spanish holiday. Be aware the resort does not have british bars and mostly caters for families looking for an evening stroll and dining in the many restaurants and restaurant/bars. The resort has a few nightclubs. We found limited family entertainment (i.e cabaret where you could take children under 18) but we visited at the time of the fireworks festival so this was not really a requirement as so much was going on in the resort. In addition to the fireworks there are live bands on the beach, flamenco dancing and funfairs.
Our family had a very nice and comfortable stay in Blanes and at Stella Maris. The hotel is clean and all the basics work well. The pool is maybe a tad small but at least during our stay there was enough room. The location is great. The beach is basically next door and the town centre is within walking distance. Breakfast is quite good, too. The staff at the reception could be a bit more friendly though.
Very nice hotel and apartments the apartment we had was great 2 bedrooms 2 balcony's the living room is large with everything you need for self catering only criticism very bland no pictures on wall and no bedside lamps it was cleaned every day all the hotel staff were lovely any little problem was sorted out straight away. Very nice pool area , I can't comment on the food as we didn't eat in the hotel. The area has a lot of camp sites and the beach is gritty a nice walk to Blane's along the promenade.
Myself and a group of friends stayed here for the Barcelona Grand Prix, as first impressions go the reception/bar/pool areas looked very modern with up to date decor. Unfortunately the rooms left at lot to be desired! On entering the room we were greeted by a damp musty smell, so straight away the balcony door was opened to air the room out! As the room was just somewhere to get our heads down, we let it slide, but upon using the shower for the first time we realised why we could smell damp! The wet room type shower had no slope toward the drain, so by the time I'd finished freshening up to go to the Grand Prix, the whole room had flooded! Not impressed! Upon further inspection you could see where the table and chairs had swelled with water ingress! So probably not the first time it had flooded! Reported the flood to reception on our way out! The problem sorted straight away. Had to roll a towel up to span the gap between the wall and glass shower screen from then on! Air conditioner was useless, had to pay to use the room safe, and also no wifi! Unless you paid for that too! The reception staff were nice but hardly spoke a word of English. The barman was arrogant and totally unhelpful. Blanes itself was like a ghost town, hardly a soul to be seen all weekend. If you decide to stay here in the future and you don't think the food is up to scratch, have a walk down the front towards lloret de mar, The Texan steakhouse is a must, the food is amazing, Louise and the staff are extremely friendly, only complaint was they allowed smoking outside the restaurant where people were eating! Other than that, top notch!
I had single room overlooking the pool. Everything was functional and the room didn't feel small. The staff were friendly, professional and happy. The hotel was spotless. The location was excellent only 100 yards to the beach. The bed was very comfortable, sleep sound every night. Will certainly return.
