To begin with I will start with the bathroom. There were broken floor tiles just outside the shower cubicle which we had to place a towel permanently over to avoid foot lacerations. The air vent allowed constant noise and cigarette smoke to from the bathroom to the bedroom if we did not keep the bathroom door closed. The bathroom itself was extremely small making using all facilities very difficult and the decor was very poor. The bedroom heating system did not work and we spent many a cold night. The air con also was broken not that we needed it but that's besides the point. The TV was also broken and as I tried to get it working (without success) I found a packet of sandwiches behind it. The balcony had two plastic chairs with no table unlike other balconies and again, the decor in the bedroom was tired looking. Moving on to the rooftop pool and jacuzzi, the water was far too cold to enjoy most people agreed and those with small children and babies where left frustrated by this. The bar area was smelly, tiny and very basic considering the amount of people who wanted to use it. As everyone was on the all inclusive package, can you imagine the difficulty and frustration everyone experienced because they only had one bar man serving drinks. Probably a tactic employed by the management to ovoid giving too many drinks away. Now the food, it was disscusting, cold, limited on replacing stock constantly asking for more butter but left with margarine and the staff as with the bar area where miserable and not polite. We asked to move to a different hotel on the first day as my wife has had a recent back operation and another one due in October and the streets to and from the hotel were quite steep, after explaining this we were told it was not possible. We did take advantage of using their free bus to other hotels and having lunch there. It was unbelievable the difference in quality and choices available considering they were graded only one more star. Overall, not a very pleasant stay. How this hotel has been awarded a 3 star rating is beyond me. My recommendation is DON'T GO.
That was the worst experiense I ever had in my life! This hotel have one! 3 stars ?????? That is a joke!!!! I've just got home and I'm glad to be away. The hotel staff were very, very rude and unwelcoming. Only one guy from reception was very helpfull I would say thank u to him :) the rest staff at the reception were awful!!! Rooms been terrible ( dirty and really old fasion). The balcony was grimy with a beautiful view of an abonded hotel. The food was not too bad. The drinks were served in plastic cups. The pool was dirty and cold. The cleaning staff were nice. Every day new towels and everything was I was asking for. Women which checks rooms was very unprofessional. Insted of talking about her life and how she is so important will be better if she will do her job properly and help her staff with a hard job they do there. Would rather sleep on the street than stay there ever again.
After reading some reviews after booking I was a bit anxious but TBH for £220.00 all in I really think people expect five star on cheep budget. The hotel is in a good location - if you are not good at walking it is bit a hilly - but you are short walk from the front - a couple of supermarkets close by. Yes the rooms are dated. Yes the view at the back of the hotel isn't great. Yes the pool is small - however !! The room are cleaned daily beds made - clean towels - bathroom was fine as were the beds. The staff are NOT rude if you are polite with them they are back - bar staff - cleaners - staff in restraint all working very hard to please grumpy folk mainly the English moaning TBH !! The entertainment guy was great worked very hard and did his best - entertainment was not so bad and every one seemed to be having a good time. The food was fine there is something for everyone plenty of choice - it wasn't cold and you could warm up in microwave if needed. The roof top area is great a real sun trap - the bar up there is great too this shuts at five and the roof top itself at six. As for the card system for drinks its fine so you to have to queue for a drink - would you not do this at home ? As for plastic glasses again not a problem would rather stand on one of these than a real glass. Would go back there again - if you do book this hotel go with an open mind as it is not as bad as people make out and if you do want five star then you have to pay for it but as a budget hotel we as group of friends had a great time there.
The staff (mostly dealt with a gentleman called Deneal) were very polite, helpful and professional. The pool was a bit small but that wasn't a problem as the option was there to go to other hotels to use their facilities. The entertainment was good for kids and adults everyday. The beach was a couple of minutes away and the supermarket was just as close. The cleaning staff were honest and reliable. I lost my phone on the last night. I rang the hotel and was informed they found my phone and it was in the safety deposit box so I arranged a courier to pick it up. After 2 weeks I finally have my phone, no thanks to UPS. 7 times they arranged to pick it up and didn't. Went with ParcelABC and within 24 hours it was picked up and delivered. I had no pin or security on my phone so was pleasantly surprised by the honesty of the hotel staff. Overall we totally enjoyed our 15 nights at the Alexis Hotel and would definitely return again.
I've just got home and I'm glad to be away. The lift was a death trap waiting to happen so my partner and I took the stairs up and down each time (we were on the third floor) staff were very rude and unwelcoming. Rooms were decorated by a blind grandmother. The walls were thin enough to hear your neighbour use the loo. The baclony was grimy with a beautiful view of an abonded hotel. The rooms were full of ants and grime. The food was raw and undercooked. The drinks were served in plastic cups in a room that looked like a community hall where they decided to do "fun family discos" which was loud enough to hear clearly three floors up. The pool was dirty and cold. The cleaning staff walked in without permission when I was changing and then took minutes to leave when she should've left instantly. Would rather sleep on the street than stay there ever again.
We were only here for 2 night and it was not a great hotel. When we arrived they had 9 people on the booking instead of 10 and receptionist was rude. Really annoying card system with all inclusive as slightly different at each bar. Wouldn't recommend with children. Clean and food ok.
Come back from 7 nights with friends. Was dredding the stay after reading the reviews. However our stay was great and exceeded our expectations. Yes the hotel has seen better days, yes the bath is just a high shower tray, yes the balconies had no view what so ever and the pool is pointless, but we knew this any way and didn't go away to sit in our room or on a balcony all day. Location is pretty good, short walk to the beach very good supermarket 10 yards away. The rooftop was great despite closing at 5pm prompt everyday. The all inclusive systems takes about an hour to figure out and is common across htop hotels. Food was ok to good and the chefs made a real effort to present it well and had plenty of choice. Staff were great, especially pasqual and Paulina and reception manager; make an effort to be nice to people and it's reciprocated. Rooms cleaned every day with fresh towels and toiletries Most of negative comments I guess are from people who were expecting way too much and there were a few people getting quite angry with staff over the bar situation and surprise surprise the staff (rightly imho) got rude with them back ! Javi the entertainment guy did a sterling job and was open to suggestions or changes. We looking to go back
easy to knock this hotel , but didn't pay a lot so struggling to complain. yes it wasn't five star yes it was like going into a time warp to the eighties but over all good holiday. GOOD POINTS. BEDDING CHANGED EVERYDAY. ROOM CLEANED EVERYDAY. RECEPTION PEOPLE HELPFULL RESTAURANT GOOD STANDARD. FOOD CHOICES REASONABLE. BAR DRINKS, GOOD ..BAR STAFF GOOD. for 220.00 all in it was a bargain. would go again. craig x
Stayed here from 7th Sept to 14th Sept All Inclusive for £220. Good Points: Rooms cleaned daily Bar staff very good Animation lad very good AI drinks good measure's Reception very helpful Restaurant staff good Bad Points: The food was awful, not a good choice, warm to cold sometimes the microwave got some use, food not cooked chicken had to be returned to the kitchen as still pink and bloody! Re-heated food brought out some days, bread out all day also. Had to eat out in the end. Bar system is ok with cards not worth the premium for international drinks. The hotel needs a total make over very out dated not sure where the 3 stars come from. A lot smaller than it looks, pool down stairs is so small. No room for sun loungers and doesn't get the Sun! Two Jacuzzi pools on the roof with a small kids pool and roof top bar. Opens at 9am closes for an hour at lunch so you then have to go down 4 floors to get a drink! Then it closes at 5pm they then close the roof at 6pm. Madness one day they wouldn't open the roof top bar so went to complain to reception. They said no so had to ask for manager he said yes in the end after some heated words!! Location is about 1.5 miles from bars and clubs. Beach is about 500m but a steep climb back not good for disabled people. You need something on your feet for the beach as peebley very steep into the sea strong currents so not safe for young kids. Definitely not for families at this Hotel. Was quiet when we were there would be very crowded in Jul/Aug. Pay the Xtra and go somewhere else.
Stayed 10 days all inclusive. I expected the room to be basic but it was stinking of damp with stains on the walls and furniture. It was cleaned daily but that did nothing for the damp so I had to spray my clothes with body spray before I wore them as they were stinking of damp after 3 days. The bed was extremely uncomfortable & the pillow was brick hard. Sitting on the balcony - our only view was a wall, balcony tiny with just 2 chairs. Walls were so thin we could hear the conversations the guests in the rooms on either side of us were having, and even heard them using the loo & having a shower. Air conditioning didn't work, staff at the hotel looked at it for us after we reported it for a 2nd time, one of the vents worked for one night then it broke down again. The staff on reception were extremely rude & blunt which put me off further complaining. As mentioned by others, the swimming pool on the ground floor - useless, it is in the shade, there are no sunbeds around it as there is no room for them. We used the whirlpool tubs on the 5th floor each day as there were plenty of sunbeds there. One day it was dull in the morning but the sun came out at 2pm, however the staff refused to open the bar up on the 5th floor as it was not sunny - but it was roasting hot. When i explained that the sun was now out and could the bar please be opened the receptionist was rude and abrupt with me and directed me to the bar staff, again I was met with the same refusal, abruptness & rudeness. When I went back up to the 5th floor and told other guests the bar was not being opened, a male guest went down and demanded for the bar to be opened as there were 40 people all sunbathing there - they then opened the bar. The food was plentiful and there was always a choice, but the quality of the food was disgusting. It was often cold, the chicken didn't look cooked enough on several occasions (pink inside), I found a hair in my pork on one occasion , after a few days I was extremely wary of eating it and mainly ate the soup (always nice), bread and melon. I would not class this as a 3 star hotel as I feel it is less than that. Yes - we got a cheap holiday but the damp, the food and the rude staff did not make it a relaxing or enjoyable stay. There were a couple of friendly staff but most of them just could not be bothered to assist their guests. I have never stayed in a hotel as bad as this and I would never return. Lloret de Mar is a gorgeous resort and well worth a visit but I would advise that you do not stay at this hotel
