Still the same friendly staff who instantly recognise and welcome you back. In May they have 700 Italian students staying, but they in no way spoilt the holiday; they come for two or three nights at a time, you see them at breakfast, they pinch the food, they go out at 10am and arrive back at circa 6 15pm when they all make for the pool. They take up the first 4 and a half floors where they stand on one and others balconies until they hit the restaurant at about 8pm once again it is pandemoliam until they go back to their rooms where it is noisy until about 11pm when they settle down.So if you don't like noisy students don't go to the H Top hotels in May because all the other hotels in the area take their share ie Callella Pineda etc.I really like this hotel but only go when I am sharing because I will not pay H Top hotels 200 Euros single room supplement. I can understand in the high season but April May September and October its stupidity. You have alienated a considerable share of the market and then have to take noisy students to fill your hotels, but not every night. So I go to the PAPI in Malgrat, the food is better and they don't have 25 drunk men on Stag weekends, if they did all inclusive it would be perfect. So wake up H Top do the pound a night supplement with Ferris Holidays and other carriers like your rival do in May and end of September and all the singles you have upset will return
We booked the hotel via Love Holidays in the January Sales and stayed at the end of April 2017, so we got an absolute bargain on an all inclusive stay. I will get the slight negatives out of the way, the lift into the hotel from the street smelled but they seemed to be fixing this as we were leaving, it didn't really matter as the entrance we used most was the back entrance which was right on the beach. The rest of the hotel, including the other lifts was very clean and didn't smell. Also as we were staying early there was a school group of French kids who were a bit unruly but that was their teachers fault not the hotels. And as we went early some of the local attractions like the marine park were closed until the beginning of May, but we had pliantly to do so it wasn't a massive issue. I would advise that you book a hotel with a sea view, as we were at the back looking over the street which we didn't mind but I think as the season goes on it will start to get a bit noisy. However saying that one of the other hotels on the main street had a brilliant fire work display whilst we were there and we could watch it from our balcony. We were on the sixth floor but there are three lifts up and down and we didn't find this an issue, in fact we had a good view. We were all inclusive and the food was really good, something different each night and lots of choice. Obviously its a mass catered buffet but a good one. There was a wide range of choice for the drinks on the all inclusive menu and a different cocktail each day that you could have. Your can only have one drink per card, and each person can only order two drinks at a time (with two cards) also you have to take your glass back each time, but we tend to do this anyway as we normally drink in small country pubs where its the polite thing to do. This meant that the tables were kept clean and glass free which was nice. There is a beach bar where you can get all inclusive drinks and sit looking out over the beach, and people were taking drinks onto the beach to their sun loungers which you can rent for 3 euros. There is a small area on the beach which is reserved for customers eating food from the beach bar which isn't included in the all inclusive which is fair enough really, there were pliantly of other places to sit. There are two pools, I assumed the top one was for kids but I'm not sure as we didn't venture up there as the pool was a tad cold so nobody was using it, I think this was due to the time of year we went, I noticed nobody in other hotels was using the pools. The room was clean and we had a mini fridge which was useful for keeping water cold, it was cleaned each day. The train is an amazing resource for exploring and you can order a packed lunch from the hotel. There is also a boat that goes from the beach down the coast which I wanted to go on but we ran out of time. You can use your all inclusive cards in other Htop hotels along the coast which means you can explore cheaply. All in all we had a great stay and it was really good value for money.
Arrived Saturday 13th of may at lunch time and so far it's been excellent. I read reviews and was dreading arriving with my 8 month old and 2 year old. We were given all the details we needed on arrival from a friendly man. We went to the room and it's spotless with comfortable beds - one double and 2 singles. We asked for a cot and one was there within an hour. We asked for 3 extra pillows and they arrived promptly too. The bathroom is modern and clean with amazing water pressure. The room 546 is spacious and clean with a nice balcony . The 2 negatives; tv is small and very old and the air-con is useless. I asked for it to be seen to but nothing has changed. It seems just to blow the warm room temperature air. This is what stopped me rating 5 star. The food had been lovely and varied (and I'm a bit of a foodie) - loads of choice even for my very picky partner. The staff are lovely and even patient with my very hyperactive 2 year old. The bar has a nice selection of drinks and the kids love the pineapple juice . The card system is fine and never queued past one person! The upstairs pools are like climbing into a cool bath - lovely :) - the downstairs ones are too cold for me. I did get in but it wasn't easy to convince myself to dip under the water. All the staff have been either pleasant or fun and friendly . There is students here but we can't hear them in our room. They are separated at mealtimes and have to use one side of the mains buffet and share he dessert buffet. They have never been rude or anything. I haven't seen them at the pool or in the bars The area is great for family's and the local people are so friendly. I'm writing the review using 1hr free wifi I will post more if anything changes
hotel nice food not good 2nd night 70050 italon students came in for 2 nights very noicey and rude could not move they took over dining room ad 2 eat out both nights not many brits going now beach very quiet students shoulting at 4 0 clock in mornig could not sleep it is like a hostel bed sheets ripted would be nice if they stoped 2 many coming in
Absolutely awful husband and i went for a week put up on 6th floor thought ok but 1_4 was over run with students every night screaming and shouting down the corridors no security to stop them until i complained the next day.Sleep at night impossible as outside our window a nightclub open till 4am!! Behaviour so bad security had to call police as they could not cope alone and never once were we offered a change of hotel. The food more suited to a 2 or 3 star having hot dogs for breakfast every day is not my idea of 4☆a.i dont look for meat as we never saw any chops even..... even a simple cup of coffee normally help yourself but at the royal beach its turned inwards for the barman to do it in case non a.i clients help themselves Rubbish!!!! Calella palce royal star different altogether!!! Anyway wont be going back!!!! This is NOT a family hotel it is a student hostel if you like hot dogs and battered fish shapes queues 4_5deep at lunch and dinner crowds gathered at entry so you have to push your way out smashing.... i expect more from a 4☆ 1 week off work for holiday spoilt !!!!
Came here from another hotel which was awful and I can honestly say it made our holiday great. Can't fault it all we thought this hotel was great. Staff are realy helpful and realy pleasant haven't came across any rude staff at all, very polite and eager to help. The reception staff wer excelant very helpfull as I have a disabled son and I had to ask for certain things, very auwkward for them but they helped with our requests and even foned our room the next morning to check everything was ok which I thought was going above and beyond. Excelant. The bar staff wer excelant also very nice and happy and chatty, looks like they enjoy there job. The restraunt staff also very courteous and genuinely seems like they wanted to help. Rooms clean and bright. Pool area lovely. Food ok but not great, although not to my taste not that the food was bad I'm just fussy. Says in the hotel description it's 5 mins from beach, well I recon it's about 2 or 3 it's literally round the corner and gorgeous. Bus stop right outside the door and there's one every 20 mins to the town although you could walk in 15 mins. Loads to do in the centre and a multitude of bars and shops and night clubs. All in all I'd be back here in a heartbeat.
I stayed for a week, April 3 to April 8th 2017. On Apart from the odd mature holiday makers it was full of Italian school children. 14. They thought it was the norm to scream and shout in hotel corridors. Slamming hotel room doors at all hours up to 6am Not a teacher in sight to keep them in some sort of order Food was good. Alcoholic drinks ok. Pool area good although water was freezing. I suppose it will warm up in the coming months Staff can be very stand offish. Don't forget your plastic card that allows you a glass to drink out of or you won't get one. Entertainment is ok. A real positive is the three minute walk to beach and a nice promenade to walk along or just sit on a bench watching the word go by.
This was my first experience of Spain and I have to say I was fairly disappointed. We have since been elsewhere in Spain and I can now see that I didn't spend enough time on reviews of the hotel or area. The hotel itself is classed as 4 star - personally I would say it is more a 3 star. The rooms were very dated and basic. Only one pillow and a thin blanket (I had to sleep in a fleece at night to stay warm), I also had to sleep in the child bed as my son was taller than the bed. The bathroom was ok and the balcony was fine, although you could hear and see a lot of rowdy drunks from where we were as there was a nightclub across the road. The all inclusive was buffet and adequate but not to my liking or my sons. The drinks were a real pain - you had to show a card. I would have preferred a quiet area other than the bar to get a coffee. One of the good things about this hotel are the staff they were amazing, friendly and helpful. The hotel itself was very clean. The downside to this hotel were the English clientele- hence why I have said it is the Blackpool of Spain, this area is really for party goers who enjoy drinking day and night. We did venture out and about and there are certain areas which were really nice like tossa. We also visited a good few restaurants in the area and all were very good. We made a mistake not finding out as much as we could about loret de mar before booking and as a result this hotel and area were not suited to our needs as a family. We as a family like to experience the culture of places we visit. But if you like nightlife then this is probably a good choice.
Good location, staff are friendly and helpful. Good variety of food and drinks. Close to beach loads to do if you want boat trips to visit further up the coast, bus rides etc. Great time to be had or relax by the pool. Eveninbg entertainment too. Visit sister hotels for change of scenery
Ive honestly stayed here probably ten times. The staff are amazing. There are always student groups but they are away from the hotel on excursions all day. We arrived on monday and were welcomed as usual by the staff. Like old friends. I mentioned to one that the hotel was quiet for the time of year. He replied five hundred students arrive Wednesday! I thought he was joking so asked another staff member. He replied no, closer to 700. Long story short. 700 Italian student average age 18-19 arrived en mass at 9pm Wednesday night. Bedlam! They completely blocked the doors entrances lifts everywhere. But that is nothing compared to them screaming from their balconies all night. Screaming from one block of the hotel across the pool to another block. Singing on their balconies. Myself and a lot of old people in the hotel couldn't believe what was happening. There were young children. When I spoke to the management it was explained we had all been lumped into one corridor on the sixth floor to keep us away from the students. It mattered not. It was a nightmare. Only saving grace was I left on Thursday. I loved the royal beach but this was too much, too many. Likely I will never return.
