This place was booked almost on a whim - we had bad weather change our plans and we were looking for a one-night stay along the Costa Brava on our way back to Barcelona from France. What a great place, especially with our 6-year old kid in tow! Our son didn't want to leave and we really wished we could have stayed a lot longer. The place mainly seems to get German vacationers who drive down hours in their Audi wagons loaded with gear for a week-long experience at the resort. The place is a great value and the kind of place you should really enjoy for multiple days or a week or more. Beautiful spot overlooking the coast. Cute little beach and tons of activities built in. Would love to return - there are activities for all ages and the place is ideal for families.
We were there for 3 nights. Food was really excellent quality. The beds were very comfortable, everything was very clean. Great facilities, pools, beach, terrasse restaurant, gym, etc. Easy access to Tossa de Mar; bike shop could possibly be a bit more efficient but good bike facilities too.
2 things are important, make sure you book the room with a sea view and that you have the car there. There is a bus going to the city but it is much easier to get around with the car (however city parking is a bit expensive so try to find a free spot). The resort offers many activities, tennis, minigolf, water sports, etc. It is a very nice retreat for a few nights on Costa Brava, specially if you can get a bargain price of less than 100 euro per night. Two downsides are that the rooms would need to be updated, there is no wifi in the room and the food in the beach bar is pricey and not very good.
Had the best week here, the place is beautiful. Kids didn't come out the pool the whole week! A week went too quick, restaurants on site were good, the chip bracelet makes it easier no need to carry cash around.
We spent 2 weeks in this beautiful place. Very clean, well organized facility. Excellent food. Nothing we missed. The sports program they offer is excellent. Staff always friendly. We already decided to return to this place next summer.
This was a loverly resort with beautiful views. The only thing that was missing was wifi in the rooms. You could only use wifi at the office. It was very clean and the beds were very comfortable. The beach was very nice and clean also. We really enjoyed our stay here
Spent a very nice Tennis holiday ar the resort. Good company, excellent sports facilities, super food and a warm welcome by staff and management alike. Very good value for money in a superb seafront setting Truly recomendable experience.
We stayed unfortunately only three days at the resort, with two families and chilidren. The place is very nice, the view is fantastic, apartments are nice and clean, stuff is very friendly, beach is beautiful, food is so tasty, lots of activities for both children and adults. Nothing negative to say and next time we will definitely stay longer in Giverola!
We have just returned from a 10 day break at the resort and can honestly say it was the perfect holiday. The resort is spectacularly located overseeing a beautiful cove Positives The views 1. The activity programme is fantastic. If you or your children enjoy sport then this is the place for you. Constant opportunities to play loads of organised activities from dance, circuits, water polo, tennis, beach soccer, volleyball, mini golf, pétanque, table tennis, archery, etc. Incidentally they have an amazing skate park (biggest in Europe) tucked away so don't forget skates. All free and all incredibly well organised. The only thing you pay for is tennis - they have Five clay and four artificial grass tennis courts, at about €12 an hour. Special mention to the animation team who were fantastic catering for Kids ranging from 8 to 15. 2. The site is not only incredibly beautiful, it is also very very well maintained. Spotlessly clean and really well organised. Little things but it takes the hassle out of the holiday....you carry a chip rather than cash to pay for anything...sunbeds and umbrellas are allocated on arrival and guaranteed for your stay. 3. The entertainment - every evening there was a fantastic entertainment programme from music to acrobatic acts that were really top class. During the day there was always things to do - the boys highlight was the foam party and water slides. What was great is that the entertainment never became intrusive. No noise at night and out 70!year old parents felt very relaxed. 4. The food. We self-catered most of the time travelling into Tossa de Mar for shopping (you can get there by boat for €9 or free by the resort bus. We occasionally ate at the main restaurant. For €24 per person (less for children) you get a wonderful buffet meal - an incredible range of choice and high quality. None of us could move or eat again for a day or so after an 5. The views. Spectacular. The bay is gorgeous - buy and bring a snorkel and fins with you as it is perfect for snorkelling. You can hire them, but at €3 and hour you are better off bringing them with you. Fins as well as it can get a bit rocky getting into the sea. 6. Ice cream heaven! Things to bear in mind (I won't say it's a negative, because the holiday was amazing) 1. The site is perched on the side of a hill. There is a cable car (how cool) to take you up and down from the beach / pool to the villas. Wherever you stay there will be walking. For us it was fine - but if you have anyone with mobility challenges have a think about whether this is the place to come. 2. The villas are snug. Well equipped and designed but snug. We had 5 in ours and it worked out fine but there wasn't a huge amount of space. The absence of aircon (the only reason I can think why this place isn't a 4 star resort) wasn't a problem - fans in the room and a nice sea breeze kept you cool at night. 3. Good or bad - digital comms is poor. Only one English TV channel and weak / non-existent wifi which meant the kids left all of that behind. 4. Drinks - the drinks down by the pool were very expensive. €3 for a small bottle of water. There are vending machines and a supermarket so you need to be organised to meet the drinks needs of 5 people playing sport in the heat! Overall - brilliant. Go there.
Very nice resort weel located close to Tossa de Mar in a quiet cove. Nice appartments with large balcony (some of them with sea view). 2 large pools ideal for children. Good food (breakfast/dinner). One important information: appartments are located on the top of a small hill so the use of stairs is required to join them from the main pool and from the beach. Nothing unachievable for normal person. A fenicular is available if the climb is too difficult by the stairs. Possibility to join Tossa de Mar from the resort by foot (1h30 approx). Free Wi-fi access available at main entrance and close to the pool. One single remark: water bottle price to high during lunch (2,5 € for 500 ml).
