We stayed in their Apartments a block back behind hotel, ours was on the fourth floor and was roomy and pleasant...not much of a view and we would have liked a balcony (403) but all in all very good. Large bathroom (good shower heads cost very little these days...maybe they could invest?) We were allowed use of hotel facilities and spent many afternoons at the pool. I would have swum but pool rather too deep for me (and others I have read!) Hotel looked lovely too but VERY strong smell of cleaning fluid when you walked in and it made my friend feel so sick that she just had to run straight out to pool. Its a shame cause staff were lovely and maybe would return to the hotel but even as I'm writing this I can smell the smell and I know she could not cope with it...shame.

It is one of the best hotels, I have stayed at.the staff are brilliant the food is good.Would highly recommend this hotel. It is right on the beach front there is a train station a short walk away , which we used to go to Barcelona which cost €9.80 return. There is a train line that is just across the road but you don't hear it .

Fabulous Hotel with great facilities and friendly staff. The food is excellent with something for everyone. The location is excellent the beach was just over the road. The train station is just up the road with a 2 minute walk. Only negative I had was the room had no kettle but tea and coffe at breakfast was in abundance. The room had a fridge, hairdryer and air con. Also a large screen TV which never used. We stayed in a junior suite with a street view.

We stayed at this hotel for five nights after a city break in Barcelona, which is easily accessible by train and affordable by private transfer if there are a few of you. Our Barcelona hotel (Catalonia Catedral) was luxurious and stylish - this wasn't, but it was fabulous in different ways. We had two rooms for our family, across from each other. One was a family quad duplex - two floors, two balconies - and the other a double. Both rooms were spacious, had everything you needed, excellent air con, and were spotlessly clean, as was the whole hotel. The decor is a little tired, but you don't spend a lot of time in your room. The location is fabulous, on the main strip and right across the road from the beach - gorgeous views from the balcony, well worth getting a sea view room if possible. The staff were all extremely friendly and helpful, especially Christian in the bar and Peggy on reception. The pool is on the small side and shaded in the morning, which worked well as there wasn't the usual mad ruckus to stick towels on beds at the crack of dawn. The atmosphere around the pool was great - a young, enthusiastic and multi-lingual entertainment team were often out and about, organising low-key games for the kids; nothing intrusive, nice innocent stuff like playing twister and skittles and arts and crafts. Ours were too old for the mini-disco, but it was clearly a highlight of the day for the younger ones! This isn't a 'Brits abroad' kind of place - as well as English families, there were Dutch, German, French, Spanish and Russian groups, which actually really added to the ambiance - it was very laid-back and friendly. The bar and cafe offers excellently priced drinks and snacks, as well as evening entertainment, which was decidedly hit and miss - some were quite good, others reminded you of the embarrassing audition stage on the X Factor! All good fun though, and nothing that was too loud or raucous. There is also a gym and massage treatments, as well as nice touches like bookshelves full of paperbacks, a pool towel service, and staff who will help you arrange airport transfers and excursions. We stayed half-board and found the food was fine - they're obviously catering for a wide variety of European tastes, but there was always something good on offer, lots of fresh fruits and salads as well as meat and fish. We were a party of five, including a 10 year old and a vegetarian, and nobody went hungry - in fact we probably gained a few pounds! Bearing in mind the food available, the half board option was excellent value - you pay extra for drinks with lunch and dinner, but nothing is vastly expensive. The beach is beautiful but shingly, and can get quite rough, so keep an eye on little ones. The hotel gives you vouchers you can use for kayaking and other watersports for free, as well as cycle hire. We were extremely lucky as for the five nights we stayed, it was also the Fiesta Major - the annual carnival and celebration in the town - which made it bustling and magical, with fireworks, 'Gigantes' on parade, and a fabulous fun fair that the kids loved going to. Perhaps because of the Fiesta, it had a very Spanish feel - lots of families promenading of an evening, and some lovely, lively bars and restaurants around the squares away from the main strip, all very family-focused. I couldn't in all honesty call this a luxury hotel - but it was a pleasure to stay at, the kids felt safe and welcome, and we had a lovely, relaxed break in the sunny Costa Brava.

Stayed here with mum for ten nights stay very friendly and helpful hotel clean and food you cannot fault. Needs could of minor things sorted in room as table beside bed the wood at corner was broken but didn't spoil our experience. Pool small and too deep for non swimmers mum cant swim so this was difficult for her.Sun doesn't hit the the pool side till afternoon so no one rushing for Sun beds which was good but beach across road and sea was lovely to swim in. Found pineda de mar a great wee town hotel handy to town also. Very handy to go different places like next town callela and train to Barcelona would return and recommend

Family hotel at Costa Brava in a little tourist town near the beach. The hotel was okay but very ordinary. The hotel restaurant was ordinary with a large morning buffet which was okay. Our daughter though had a fantastic time and their dutch student who played and entertained the kids was fabulous. Stay at this hotel if you want an ordinary but okay stay in a typical Spanish city near the beach.

We stayed in this hotel for 4 days. Location of the hotel is just fabulous with Pineda de Mar train station (if you are a light sleeper you may have a problem as the trains pass by) couple of minutes walk away (it becomes handy if you are traveling to/from Barcelona especially with a toddler). We had a sea-view room overlooking the beach front (received free upgrade from the hotel which was a great welcoming gift) and if you are planning to stay here it is well worth paying extra for these rooms. The room was spacious and clean and daily house-keeping was close to perfect. Our stay included full-board meal. With lots of variety and above average quality didn’t have any problem except the coffee and juices served during the breakfasts – don’t even bother to try. Never understood why someone would go to the swimming pool while there is a great beach just a minute away so didn’t even bother to use relatively small swimming pool. Hotel’s car park was full and I had to search for an available spot (make sure you get the chart from front desk regarding the streets with free parking). I think it would be fair to say that the wi-fi was unusable most of the time. Yes, we would stay in this hotel once again and I would recommend it to my friends even though I had to argue with the front desk staff at 7 o’clock in the morning during our check-out when she wanted to charge my credit card in USD instead of euros stating that manager would not allow it.

Stayed in this hotel after a 3 day break in Barcelona. Took the train up the coast 45 mins (really easy) as the hotel is very close to pineda railway station. Check in easy & straightforward room clean & very nice, quiet overlooking the pool. Buffet restaurant very well done, food, loads of choice, something for everyone!! Pool area does not get the full sun until the afternoon, this is not a problem as the beach is literally across the road, so if you want to spend the morning at the beach & afternoon at the pool all is good. Pineda is a small resort, no discos etc, lots of restaurants & small squares where you can sit, relax & watch the world go by. All in all, great hotel, really friendly hard working staff who do everything they can to ensure that you get a great holiday

We paid extra for a room with a sea view, well worth it. On the minus side we got sigarette smoke drifting from our neighbours. It stopped us wanting to sit outside. Also had a snoring neighbour😳 Rooms were nice and clean, we missed more cupboard/drawer space as we were three people with luggage. TV offered entertainment in various languages; mainly Spanish, French, Russian and Dutch. Nothing in English! The hotel is close to the beach, just across the road😊 We had breakfast every day in the hotel restaurant. Lots to choose from but will benefit and gain an extra star, if real fruit juices and coffee were served. The coffee and "juices" were awful. (Nectar and some tasted as if they'd been watered down) Friendly and helpfull staff at front desk

Great hotel, spotless and really friendly staff. Good location and perfect for the beach. We celebrated our 30th wedding anniversary there 2 weeks ago and were wonderfully surprised with a complimentary bottle of fizz and chocolates from the hotel. Details that make a difference. Definitely recommend the Aqua Hotel Promenade.
