Came here yesterday for a 2 night stay . The hotel DOES NOT qualify for a 4 stars by any criteria .. Positive : Staff is super nice Negative : Expensive , but does not keep up with the expectations ..Room is ok . Unfortunately my bathroom is a mess . No side panel for shower so every time you take a shower water is flooded on the floor . We have to use two bath towers to clean this . The handle shower does not work and the control is broken . I guess one of the previous customer was upset and broke it !. Bathtub is old , with cracks in the bottom . There is a fairly large crack on the side wall of the bathtub as well . There is no tea nor coffee in the room . Parking is 15 minutes from the hotel , public pay parking , don't know if it is safe !! Will find out tomorrow when we pick up our car . Breakfast is not included in the room rate : a whopper € 43 per person if you want it !! that's ridiculous !! In all ., I really think this hotel merit a 3 stars rating at best .. Good location , but old , not well maintained , poor infrastructure facility ..
While the staff a very kind and the location is decent, this hotel is not up to the quality anticipated for the price. We were checked into a room without a shower closure and when we complained the apparent manager was less than apologetic. We were eventually shown and given another room. Another minus, we had been confirmed that parking was available at the time of booking. The day before we we were due to arrive we received word parking would cost an additional 25 Euro. Poor form. Overall a disappointment.
We arrived at the hotel by car. And had an incredible experience. The hotel is located on a charming but very small street. We wondered how difficult it would be to unload and park. The staff were waiting at the entry, and they jumped into action. They had us stop, unload, and then they parked the car in a space across from the hotel (and they paid for parking for a day), all in 2 minutes flat. And with big smiles. The Reception desk was equally efficient and helpful. Maps, information, suggestions, and tons of friendliness. Then we got to our room: a wow! It overlooked the lovely central courtyard/restaurant and was perfectly done. Immaculate, tastefully decorated, and remarkably comfortable. They have the traditional French separation of toilet room and bath (both perfect). The bed was new and firm. The shower was strong and warm. All good. And for the rest of the stay, we had guardian angels both at the desk and in the porters, continually checking to make sure that all our needs were met. This hotel was formerly the private residence of one of Napoleon's cousins, and the service conveys that elegant legacy of this historic Corsican city.
The hotel is very average though very well located. The staff is pleasant but need better training. My stay was paid for since I was travelling in a group. Despite that they insisted on a security and took 100 euros off my debit card. I have called them and spoken to a person at the reception by the name of Roger who promised to revert to me and even took my email ID. Its two days now and no revert. That speaks of very poor management . The breakfast was nothing to write home about. Poor selection of tv programs. Do not cater to international travelers. Very poorly designed side tables at the bedside.
Nice hotel, stuff very helpful. We took comfort room and it's spacious, very clean. Hotel has wi-fi but beakfast is not included and cost 35€ per person. Realy too much!! Hotel hasn't its own parking but the receptionst gave us first parking place in front of the hotel that is occupied for taxies. Great gesture!!
Located in the historic center and it is ideal for shopping, restaurants and sightseeing. The room was very dark, more light is needed. Not charming at all but the room was big and the bathroom very nice. Breakfast good.
This is a lovely hotel right in the middle of the old town. Ease of access if arriving by car, and parking is available close by. It is clean, in character and the rooms are large and have great opening windows. The staff are really friendly and helpful. I would recommend this hotel.
The first impression of Ajaccio was not so good. Traffic, and ugly buildings when you entered the city. The hotel otherwise is located at the historic center, near attractions, restaurants, and bars. There wasn't a parking place (bht you can use a 2 block public parking - Diamant 20 euros for 24 h) The hotel is renovated, with big rooms and very nice bathrooms. Good wifi. The service was ok.
We were staying at a resort far from the city center, so it was more convenient to meet our friends at their centrally located Hotel for breakfast before exploring Ajaccio's attractions. The hotel is beautiful; it was the ancestral home of the dukes di Borgo. Our friends said the accommodations are excellent, and the staff is very friendly. The renovations converting a private palace into a hotel were done with both imagination and good taste. The American-style buffet breakfast had a wonderfully wide variety of choices, and offered excellent pastries signed by Lenôtre, the famous Parisian pastry chef. It was a good start to a busy day touring the city.
This hotel is brilliantly situated for the many bars, shops and restaurants Ajaccio has to offer. Napoleon's birthplace is almost opposite and there is a wonderful art gallery a short walk away. The harbour is a two minute walk, as is a sandy beach where swimming is a delight. Beds were extremely comfortable and the rainforest shower superb. The room was cool at night, which was a blessing in high temperatures. We didn't have breakfast, as it seemed expensive and it was much cheaper and pleasanter to have breakfast down on the harbour. On the down side, parking would be a problem if you had a car (we didn't), wi-fi only worked in the lobby and the room was very dark, as was the lobby. Staff were helpful and friendly. There was a mistake with our booking, but it was quickly sorted with no arguments. Complimentary chocolates daily were a nice touch, as was the small packet of biscuits when we left. I would stay there again for the location alone, but if you are looking for a light and airy hotel with gorgeous decor then this isn't for you.
