Hotel Napoleon3.0 out of 5.0

My husband and I travel extensively in Europe and most 3-star hotels are very good. However, the Hotel Napoleon is not up to the grade. The only positive was its central location in Ajaccio. The rooms are very small. We had to remove the chairs from underneath a useless counter to access the bed. And the bed...! The bed is a small double bed which can't provide comfortable sleeping for two adults. We asked for a larger room...there are none. We checked out of this place in the morning. We had booked 4 nights, and requested a refund to cancel the other 3 nights but management refused. Stay away unless you are traveling solo and don't mind cramped quarters.
We stayed at this hotel in September 2017 for 1 night. The room was absolutely tiny but quiet as it overlooked the garden. There was no space for the suitcases so we piled them up on the desk. The room was very clean and the bed was comfortable. The staff at reception was very nice and helpful. We didn't know they have only have a few parking spaces and they aren't free either. 10 Euro a day but there is plenty of free parking nearby. If you wish to bring your car you need to book a space for it in advance. The breakfast was plentiful but nothing cooked or warm, they serve continental breakfast for 12 Euro. After staying in B&B all over Corsica the 147 euro per night seems crazy expensive for a tiny room in an average hotel but you have to pay for the central location.
You will find everything on walking distance! Very quiet place, bedrooms are made with high quality materials, nice bedroom and bathroom linen. The receptionists are very friendly and helpful. If you arrive around 9 for breakfast, you can find many guests in the dining room, and it becomes very noisy! You can still order a room service! That's why we decided to have breakfast in towns, next to the fishermen port.
Overall: 4/5 Room: 3/5 Price: 4/5 Service: 5/5 Checkin: 5/5 Breakfast: 2/5 (French and not included, 12€) Not the best hotel but would still recommend it for those who like a good hotel in the city center. We would probably choose it again for one/two nights if we're staying in Ajaccio. For longer stays we would choose one with a better view and a pool! + comfortable and crisp bed + clean bathroom with a good modern shower (and water pressure) + good air conditioner + cool and welcoming lobby + Touch screen guide in lobby - small room - outdated decor - less charming view and exterior
I hadn't done much research before selecting this hotel, but it turned out to be a really good choice. The bedroom was clean and comfortable. There was no coffee machine but there was no shortage of good cafes within walking distance. The staff are very friendly and helpful - there was often someone waving hi as I walked into the hotel, which was nice for me as a solo traveler there for 5 days. I left my credit card at a store by mistake, and the hotel staff kindly helped me to contact the store to get the card kept so I was able to get it back without problems. The hotel location is fantastic: plenty of nice restaurants within 10 min walk (check out Da Mamma just across the street), Monoprix supermarket a few min away, and the key boat and bus rides within easy access. Overall, this hotel is not a posh one but definitely great value!
Friendly service, good rooms and conveniant parking near the hotel. Hotel was easy to find (there were signs from the main road into the city). The rooms were ok, clean and comfortable. Near restaurants adn pederstrian strets. Recommended!
The hotel had everything you would expect from a 3*. It was clean, bed was comfortable, there was soap in the bathroom. No coffee and tea or mini fridge but there was a safe. It was a 10 min taxi ride from the airport*. The beach is a 10 minute walk. All the touristy areas are within walking distance as well, starting just around the corner from the hotel. Cleaners gave a little extra by making a swan out of the towel. Very much appreciated Little extra touch. Breakfast is available for a charge. We didn't eat there but did pop in and it looked very good with many options. *taxi from airport was 25€ and back was 30€. The ride was only 10 minutes so might be good to check other transport options.
We stayed at hotel Napoleon earlier this month as part of our honeymoon trip. The hotel has a good location and the staff were very helpful. There's also a hotel garage not far from the hotel. After checking in we went up to our room which was up in the lift and down a long corridor. The room was clean and tidy although a little dated but very comfortable. Breakfast was basic but ok. Would recommend an overnight stay, Because of the central location.
Friendly check-in & check-out. No views from hotel. Get what you pay for. Easy walking distance to the "old city". Room was comfortable enough. Air-conditioners in room do not cool the room down enough. I found Ajaccio was a little "boring" after staying down south in Bonifacio for a week. There was nothing really memorable. Wished we had flown out back to Paris rather than overnighted in Ajaccio.
A small hotel, in a very quiet alley, the receptionists are very courteous and welcoming. Room not large but definitely spacious. The location is exceptional, very close to the city center and the city's main street. Very recommended, even families were there.
