I have to start off by saying for the price we paid it was fine for a one night stay. I am really surprised by the reviews. The location was great. Front desk gentleman was not the most welcoming or friendly-was actually very short and almost rude to my husband when we were checking in. The room was clean but the lighting in the room wasn’t the best. There was a strange smell in the lobby of the building we stayed in but to their defense, we were forewarned by the hotel that they are undergoing some renovations. Continental breakfast did not have much to offer. Overall, it is what you would expect from a 2.5 star hotel.

The building we were in didn’t have an elevator makes luggage an issue. The front door was so heavy a full grown adult can barely open it. Staff cleaned our room only did one bed and left the door open when they left! We found it open at 10:30 pm when we returned from a wedding.

Have stayed here for years and this was the first time we were not as happy. The hallways and the carpet just did not look very clean. Our rooms were clean, but it smelled. The minute you walked in the lobby it smelled musty. And then when you walk into your room, it smelled even more musty. When we got the temperature in the room cooler you could not smell it as bad. Not a bad smell, just old. But the beds are very comfortable. One thing that we can say is that the shower is awesome because it has a hard stream. And it also nice soft water(not hard) We will definitely stay here again because it’s a good price for what you get…. But I just wish they would do something about the smell. We stayed at THE Place. Hotel Lydia looks nice, so we may stay there at some point.

We loved the large size of the disabled guest room. Our room was on the first floor of the old The Place Hotel. We had a view of the channel and were able to actually see the ships go by. The Breakfast lady Debbie was very sweet and helpful. She was also telling us about the area and the best restaurants to dine. Unfortunately, we had trouble with the entrance to the hotel. The doors were very heavy to open for anyone disabled. There were no buttons to push for them to open like at the Lydia. Hopefully, they will be added in time. I went to get ice but there is no ice machine in the building so they worker there said I would have to go the other building to find some.

Had an amazing stay! The rooms are clean, newly renovated and really nice. Location is fantastic for food and fun for families since it’s located walking distance to Robert’s Point Park. Will absolutely come again!

The hotel is a good place to stay. The only issue, right at 5:40a, guests and staff start moving around where a person cannot sleep in past 6:30 or 7a. Otherwise, we had a good time! This wasn't our first time nor will it be our last. This is a great hotel to stay for vacation, hang out at the beach, or just getting away from it all!😎Thx again!
