They area was great and the layout of the house worked well. The management company was terrible with absolutely zero communication. I reached out 3 times asking some specific information and didn’t get a single response. Once we arrived, we found that the WiFi didn’t work, and therefore none of the TVs, and after leaving 3 messages we received zero response. The house was filthy and the kitchen counter and floors were covered in ants. I used an entire container of Lysol wipes to try to get in under control. The outdoor areas were completely unusable due to amount of ants and spider webs. We had friends that had a place in the same complex with a different management company and they had no issues. The area was gorgeous and we will continue to go back, but never through this management company.

Has everything you need!

Beautiful house with plenty of space! Kids enjoyed the rec area and hot tub. It was a nice surprise to see we had bikes and all sorts of beach supplies (chairs, wagon, sand toys, etc). It would have been nice to know up front so we wouldn't have purchased and packed those items but I also didn’t ask. Great location close to everything and easy to find parking if we didn’t want to walk.

Unexpected Problems

Corolla and the surrounding area is beautiful! The house itself is beautiful. However, it was not clean or maintained. We arrived on Saturday night to an ant and spider infestation that needed pest management to come and remediate. They came on Monday afternoon. They also confirmed they had not been there in years. The cleaning service is not great. There were stains on our bedding, I had to clean the kitchen before using it, no one had vacuumed and there was mold in the two showers. The hot tub had not been cleaned as detailed in our welcome packet and that vendor did not show up until Tuesday afternoon. They did send fresh bedding immediately and offered to send cleaning service, but we were already in the house a day and I had cleaned already so I declined. There were too many preventable issues for such a short stay and the price of the rental. We will not be renting through Kees again. The outside patio was also littered with landscaping debris and the table was dirty. We left the condo better cleaned than when we arrived and that should just not have happened. Rumor on the island is that this is the reputation for this property management group. I should have done more homework before booking.

Barefoot Bungalow townhouse

We loved the location of Barefoot Bungalow. It was so convenient to the beach and the Sound. The size of the home was nice for our extended family. However, the home was not clean. There were many spiderwebs and spiders in the corners of the hallways and rooms. The downstairs bathroom tub drained VERY slowly. The main level French doors going to the larger deck were not cleaned before our arrival. Very filthy with smudges and hand prints. One of the comforters on the lowest level had stains on it, another had a googly eye sticker on it. Some of the bath towels in the home had stains as well. Besides the cleanliness of the place, we enjoyed our family time together at the beach.

Location

The location of this property is amazing. Its in a very well kept street with convenient access to everything within the Corolla Light community. Ammenities were perfect for a summer beach vacation.

Hot tub hasn’t been cleaned since December. Cobwebs everywhere, needs a thorough cleaning.

Long Weekend getaway

Overall I would give this property a decent rating. I think they can clean the outside deck furniture, sweep all the leaves and dirt around the hot tub and dust the rooms. It was neat but could use better overall cleaning. When we first arrived the hot tub was not heating up and the shower head was not working properly. After calling the property manager, they responded quickly and were able to fix both. There were other amenities available including workout room, pool, mini golf, tennis and others. Unfortunately, we didn't use them due to our short stay. The other thing that was disappointing is that there was no flexibility in check in/out times.
