I booked this night away for my husbands birthday present months ago I had spoken on the phone twice just to confirm a couple of things and not once did I get told about any building works also no where on my email does it say about building works , so we checked in picked the keys up made our way up the stairs covered in plastic floor protector to our room which was a really lovely clean room but unfortunately we had a load of builders just outside the window fitting a load of decking , so we made our way back to reception reported this to the lovely receptionist and it was dealt with professionally and she ungraded us to the beach club room so we made our way over to the beach club which is separate from the main hotel but brand new and very clean so we were happy ,unfortunately we spent the evening listening to a screaming baby , not the hotels fault but not very relaxing for our night away.so in the morning we walked across to enjoy our breakfast before heading home and to top it off we were seated by the window with a lovely view of all the builders working whilst we sat eating our breakfast , so when checking out I mentioned all of this to the lady behind the reception desk and she said oh sorry to hear that ! That was it . so not overly impressed , when this hotel is completely finished which I should imagine is a few months away it will be lovely, but unfortunately because of our experience we won’t be returning.
We spent a few nights in the newly opened Beach House. Save for the low slunk beams oddly emblazoned with "ouch" the accommodation was perfect. Large firm bed. Spotlessly clean. Large well designed ensuite. Well thought out lights and charging points etc. But missing Netflix or Sky. Good value at the price albeit the breakfast was well below 4 star. The gym has older Life cycle machines at least 2 generation's behind the current machines and the difference is obvious to those who know. Gym Staff a bit cliquey and self absorbed. Great location. We will be back at the Beach House. Not sure if the original rooms provide a similar standard. Lots of building work on site.
Stayed in early May with a large sea view room in the Beach House. Lovely modern room which was fine apart from sauna like heat in the bathroom due to the exceptionally hot towel rail. Overall, the stay was excellent. Very friendly and polite staff and the food was exceptional. Table by the window with a lovely sea view was a bonus. Extensive work on improvements had no adverse effect whatsoever on our stay and we would definitely return. Well done to all involved.
This hotel was one of the best hotels I've stayed in! I booked my stay via secret escapes and had checked the hotel out prior to arriving. I knew there was some work going on as I had received an email from the hotel prior to arriving to let me know, but I have to say, it didn't interfere with my stay what so ever. We arrived a little early but the staff on reception desk allowed us to check in as the room was already which was nice. Our 'Beach House' room was beautifully done out and spotlessly clean. My only criticism is that our balcony hadn't been swept but it didn't impact our stay. The rooms had lovely little touches such as the Roberts Radio and the Lavazza coffee machine. The Elemis toiletries were beautiful too. As someone involved in the B&B trade, it was lovely to see the fresh milk in the fridge and cold bottled water. There was also lots of space for parking which made life much easier. My boyfriend and I visited the spa during our stay and although the staff were a little late for our treatments, it was so relaxing and the pool area was spotlessly clean. We had dinner in the Flying Fish restaurant on the first night and the foot was absolutely delicious and beautifully presented. The breakfast each morning was also delicious with lots of choice and the view from the restaurant was so pretty. The hotel staff throughout were some of the best I've ever experienced, whether the house keepers or the waitresses and barman - they all made us feel very welcome and relaxed. I had also pre-ordered a birthday cake for my boyfriend which was lovely, and we were given complimentary prosecco for the occasion. We did, on one day, get locked in our room as the door handle broke but it was sorted by a quick call to reception and we were offered complimentary drinks for the inconvenience. I honestly can't recommend this hotel enough - it was relaxing from start to finish and just what we both needed. I will definitely be back!
It would have been nice to know that refurbishment work was taking place prior to making an irreversible booking. I booked a sea view room with balcony, room 12. I was really disappointed the room was small and the balcony was only accessible via a door ledge that was 2 feet off the ground. We could see the sea but the view was spoiled by the hotels unkempt roof space. The balcony decking and furniture was grubby, covered in seagull detritus and the planter was populated with dead plants. Pretty grim. Very poor and vastly overpriced. Parking was ridiculous, tight spaces that you had to fight the builders and non resident spa members for. This hotel has no lift. Breakfast was hot and plentiful but the shelves in the eating space were caked in builders dust. We stayed 4 nights and the dust remained in place throughout. Staff were ok but nothing special. For the money spent this was poor value.
Although this hotel is now undergoing a lot of refurbishments expected to be completed by the summer it didn't spoil our stay at all, however, I did ask to be moved from room 62 as we had trouble sleeping due to the stifling heat hence windows were open all night so woken by gulls and then the workmen using drills and people showering next door as if they were in our bedroom!! we'd travelled 8 hours to get here late the previous evening and wanted a lie in! the reception staff moved us with no hesitation to room 85 at the top of the hotel overlooking the beach, perfect room for us at the top of the hotel and a bit bigger too! great breakfast, lovely friendly staff throughout, great pool with water plume that was so strong It gave me a free massage!! This hotel is amazing now due to location staff and amenities but will be spaectacular when its fully refurbished. The only place I'd stay in Falmouth hands down. Thanks for an amazing few days, see you again!
Myself and my fiancée have stayed at St Michael’s numerous times. We have just returned home from a long weekend stay wedding planning at Pendennis Castle. We have booked a 3 night stay for our wedding at the end of June in the Swanpool room. Each time we have stayed we have loved our stay. We have a lot of our wedding guests staying and we are hoping they enjoy St Michael’s as much as we do. Fantastic hotel very polite staff lovely rooms and great breakfast.
It was a surprise break for my mum and sister’s birthdays. It was a good break. The rooms were in the new building called Beach House and recently built. They are large and even had an extra bed for my 6 year old daughter. The bathroom is massive even with a bathtub and excellent shower; probably one of the best showers one has had; good Elemis toiletries. Good choice of teas provided and also Cornish biscuits and Lavazza coffee maker and coffee as well as fresh milk and glass bottle of water free! Wow! The health club has an excellent gym with lots of classes and very large with take your pick activités ongoing: yoga, spin classes amongst others. The folks are really really friendly; take their time to talk to my daughter too. The afternoon tea is nice. The breakfast is really good with vegetarian options of vegetarian sausages too.
I recently stayed here with my partner for a break away from the children and found the hotel to be under going what appeared to be renovation work, fortunately for us we were located just off the main site in an area called the beach house which was very charming and appeared to be virtually brand new. The room was lovely and very clean if not a tiny bit small although was exceptionally well equipped. we ate in the on site restaurant which had a naughtical theme and sea food seemed to by the dish of choice. the food came and was lovely and the service was decent enough if not a bit bit distracted and the girls sending the food out seemed to be concerned with chatting quite a lot at the bar rather than clearing out table, but all in all in was a good experience. Falmouth itself is a great little town and luckily enough we seemed to get a few days the the weather really peaked and was able to able enjoy the nearside beaches, after returning from a night out and having a few drinks we met by two young men more than happy to open the bar and serve us drinks and where very interested and thoughtful as to how our day had been even though they seemed to be very busy cleaning nothing was enough and they were more than happy to assist us in getting us a bottle of water and bringing it to our room along with a bottle of red. The only unpleasant experience was an older lady working behind reception, I didn't catch her name but my husband thinks it was Christine, she seemed to be very rude and overly superior and I found her to be quite off putting when approaching the desk. There was a lovely gym and swimming pool attached to where we was staying and this really was beautiful, I believe they do treatments as well although we did not partake. All in All well done and thank you for giving us a lovely break.
We stayed here for 2 nights on 23rd April and it was a nice little getaway. Free use of the pool, sauna and steam room and the flying fish restaurant was lovely! The food is great and the staff were friendly! We also had a couples massage the day we left and left us both feeling nice and relaxed 😎 defo recommend to others 👌🏼
