Room was lovely, all spotless and had everything you would need. Food was lovely, and the service in the restaurant for breakfast was amazing. Staff were so friendly and welcoming. Swimming pool was lovely, as were the changing rooms and showers. My boyfriend and I also had a massage at the spa which was lovely also. Would recommend 10/10 and we would definitely come again.
What a fantastic hotel, very clean and comfortable. Beds very comfy, Food to die for, Argentina chef has a magic touch when it comes to food.Best food in all of Devon and Cornwall. Pannacota starter foraged from the hedges was fantastic.Nettles, wild garlic, beautifully presented and so flavoursome. Beautiful decor, lovely pool and steam room. Staff very helpful and cheerful, Laid back but with class. everything was just perfect. Sea views and everything close by but not noisy. Lovely gardens to chill out in or comfortable lounge to lay around. Best cream tea, warm scones and plenty clotted cream and jam. nothing was too much trouble. Would definatly go again.
Well where do we start. I booked this hotel for a wedding we were attending at this hotel. Are room was old and dated, the furniture didn't match and looked like something from my granparents. The desk was chipped. The bathroom door didn't shut or even have a lock on it. My cup provided for coffee was cracked all the way through, the tv was tiny and channels didn't even work, also the free Wifi was rubbish. The noise from our room was loud at 7am. We wasn't made aware of any works going on. Also I could hear the swimming costume rinse machine working. We went for breakfast well that topped it off! The bacon was pale and grey looking, we asked for poached eggs well the yoke on both eggs was rock solid. How can the chef get that so wrong. Also my cup was cracked. I told the lady and she replaced it but took her 5 min to come back. Worst breakfast I've ever had! We went back to our room to find it hasn't even been made up or new towels. We ended up leaving this hotel. The reception staff wasn't even interested in our problems with the hotel. I ended up getting a refund on the deposit I paid. The 1 night costed £133 which was discounted due to the wedding. What an expensive room. We ended up booking a Premier inn which all I can say is you need to take a leaf out of there book. I was also told I would be getting a call from the manger but that never happened. I would definitely not recommend this hotel. I would book a premier inn which is better, cleaner and Cheaper. We had booked for 3 nights and cost £187 and the merchants wanted over £500 for 4 nights for a bad stay. Think before you book!!
We have just returned from a fabulous weekend at the Merchants Manor hotel. We first visited this hotel in January on the Sunday sleep over package and thought it would be perfect for our ruby wedding celebration weekend and what a good choice it turned out to be. We booked the Celebration package and Sioned (the owner) and her team really went out of their way to make it special. This was despite having a large wedding party to cater for as well on Saturday night. We had a lovely family Sunday lunch where Megan looked after us expertly - thank you. Sue & Stewart Jones
This is our 2nd time here, friendly chilled reception staff, great breakfast, love the fire place to sit in front of. Great location for walking into town or down to the beach. Staff always very helpful : ) Will be back.
10 days at the hotel in a group. 17 rooms nearly all were disappointing. not good cleaned, very dated, bad smell, small, two rooms under water by rain, some heatings didnot work, dark and small rooms restaurant food quite good nearly no change in 10 dinners, 7 times plaice vegies always the same nice and friendly staff but totally run down by the management
I went here a couple of weeks ago with my sis on the dinner bed breakfast deal on a Sunday. The room was super comfy and well equipped. Location ace with free parking. And the meal! Well it was absolutely delicious! Also staff were great! Honestly best food I've had in ages and I eat out loads (me and my sis run a restaurant ourselves so we are pretty aware of the competition out there ;) . Will definitely be back with my bf next time. Just hope the Sunday deal continues!
A one night stay and all fine, a comfortable room and bed, high quality linen etc. Great breakfast room overlooking the coast, with wide choice of food. Particularly impressed with the reception staff, Rhiann and Emma, who kindly assisted me with the return of an phone power lead left in the room by mistake. Excellent help and communication, with thanks to you both. Recommended hotel and spa, easy walk to town centre and sea front, and great staff.
A really friendly and welcoming hotel , comfortable and with great views and convenient location in Falmouth. Good breakfast and evening meal and professional staff . We will certainly return and will recommend to friends. The lounge areas are really nicely furnished and comfortable to spend time in. Good facilities .
I thought I'd take a moment to write a review, post hoc, on my stay in the Merchants Manor hotel in Falmouth. Upon arrival, we were slightly u sure what we were arriving at. Was it old, new, contemporary or country. The mixed decor was difficult to place, and lent an uneasy atmosphere to the reception. The staff at the front desk were of mixed quality - initially good, but on departure - the standards were not good. Unruly, tie undone and shirt out. Possibly not the standards of a four star. The room - different. The hygiene was good, although the carpets had not been hoovered and the plumbing in the bath was pungent on occasion - which meant an unsavoury smell permeated the room at times. The gym and pool were ok, although a shared facility with external users creates a very different type of atmosphere and one that we did. Ot pay for. Segregated times might be better, or - leave it as a hotel facility only for those guests staying. The food was excellent, one very dodgy breakfast but in the round good. Service - willing. All for students being employed but the bar and restaurant were run by students and the quality of service was commensurate with the experience - rough around the edges. We watched as a couple made their own drinks... Would I stay again - based on the website perhaps, based on experience - maybe not.
