Came home today after a 2 night stay for a family wedding. On arrival/check in I had an issue with my room and I was offered a different one swiftly.. 1st one was large but on the ground floor and was dark.. 2nd room was smaller but much lighter. The rooms are nice but they do have a few areas that need a tidy up. Pool is nice but no spectators area, but when I asked for some chairs they kindly brought us some. Breakfast was delicious, seated swiftly and offered hot drinks, cold drinks available to self serve along with a small but delicious buffet of granola, cereal, fruit, cheese, ham and toast, along with a nice hot breakfast menu on offer! Wedding area is done up so lovely, everything looked beautiful! Again some of the furniture, blinds etc could do with a tidy up but it didn't ruin how lovely it all was, the staff were A* and had everything served swiftly and hot. Thanks for having us x

I stayed at the Merchants Manor hotel for three nights whilst on business in Falmouth. The hotel cost £140.25 per night bed and breakfast. The room was extremely spacious with a delightful bathroom. Provided in my room on arrival was a welcome pack of local biscuits and a large bottle of local spring water, it was disappointing that this was not replenished every day. The only other surprising omission was the lack of a pen and notepad in the room as this would have been useful. The staff were very attentive and polite. The breakfast was outstanding, particularly the variety of dishes. This is a brilliant hotel and well worth a visit.

A friend and myself have used the pool facilities for a few years now. We hadn't visited over the summer and were disappointed on visiting today that the price for a swim had increased by a pound to £8 or £7 before 5pm. We hoped the locker facilities had improved to reflect this as we have had difficulties with them not working before. Well, it took three attempts to find one that worked and when we had finished swimming, we couldn't then open it !! We had to ask a clothed swimmer to ask reception for some help and waited ten minutes for a staff member to use a 'magic code'! We asked if the lockers often cause problems and the staff member said 'all the time'! Because of the price increase and dysfunctioning lockers, we have decided to find an alternative swimming pool in Falmouth.

Used as a base for various motor trips across Cornwall, Merchants Manor was well located on a main road with an ample car park yet a comfortable walk to the high street and all attractions. From the exterior the building is quite lovely and the common spaces such as the lobby, bar and dining areas were luxuriously appointed. Our room was quite large with a balcony offering partial views of the sea. However, it wasn't particularly well furnished, a bit untidy and the quality of the bedding was quite poor leading to a fitful sleep. While perhaps not atypical of Cornwall inns, the room was not air conditioned and with somewhat warm and humid conditions that feature was sorely missed. The corridors were perhaps the most off putting of all being evocative of a third world hospital ward rather than a somewhat pricey inn. Breakfast was rather ho hum. We took dinner only once and found it quite mediocre. Staff was quite pleasant however. On balance, a bit disappointing.

Exceptional service everyone was so friendly and helpful. The room was very clean and decorated to a good standard, the bed was very comfortable resulting in waking refreshed and ready to start the day. Breakfast was delicious and had a varied selection to choose from .

Stayed for one night on a business trip to Falmouth in May. On arrival, the receptionist was chippy and unwelcoming. The newspaper ordered with him on arrival did not appear the next morning and the hotel had no spares. The Old House Master Room (at £190 for the night) was a throwback to the 1970's with a sunken bath in the bedroom and dated decor. It was however clean and quiet. Breakfast service was slow - and the restaurant was not even full! Twenty five minutes for egg and bacon despite ordering on being seated seemed excessive! All in all not good value for money and the staff attitude needs improvement. It is not the guest's problem if there are insufficient staff to serve breakfast in a reasonable time. I won't rush back.

Had 5* treatment from the moment we arrived, champagne in the bucket waiting for us and a hot tub jacuzzi in our room All staff where very pleasant and helpful. Lovely leisure facilities and clean Can't wait to return

Was clean, fine. The pool was well maintained and warm. Didn't get a very warm welcome, so didn't hang around that much. Breakfast was meh especially after waiting 25 mins for 1 sausage, 2 small rashers of bacon, 1 poached egg and a very sad looking mushroom! And no beans (not the end of the world but still)

My nephew had his wedding ceremony here. The library where they had the ceremony was lovely and intimate and the evening party was tasteful in the larger function room. The staff were fantastic at all times, attentive and supportive. We also have a number of rooms with breakfast booked too. Beds were really comfortable, nice crisp linen and fluffy towells. I had stayed in a different room on a previous visit where the bathroom had been upgraded which made this one look a bit dated but that didn't spoil our stay. Breakfast, I have to say, is one of the best out of all the hotels I've stayed in. Great choice of continental to start and a full range of cooked using high quality local ingredients. Service was still as good, not rushed but attentive. A thoroughly good time had by all, helped by all the staff looking after our wedding party.

I have recently arrived back after a 3 night stay in Cornwall our hotel room was lovely, clean and spacious (we had booked & paid for a comfy double but on arrival our bed seemed more like a king! so we may have had an upgrade or the beds are just really big!). Loved the pool area and breakfast was also delightful with lots of choice and the ability to order off menu. Would definitely recommend and return in the future.
