My review for afternoon tea is on the The Bay Restaurant page, but forgot to add pictures .........hope this is ok to add them here, thank you for a lovely afternoon and for the attention we received throughout from booking to eating!

Parking facilities are limited and so be prepared to park in Penzance and have a 10 minute walk to the hotel. Had our Afternoon Tea in a side room, very dark and no natural light or air conditioning. Large table laid with cutlery, tea plate and cup and saucer for each guest. Sandwiches obviously pre prepared as bread was dry around the edges. Cakes were obviously frozen and not cooked on the premises. Scones were nice though as baked on the premises. Tea and coffee in large pots which were difficult to lift and pour, especially for older guests. Coffee had granules in it and decaffinated was weak with no flavour or aroma. Had to use the same tea plate for sandwiches and cakes, mixing cheese and pickle with cream cakes not desirable. Certainly not value for money at £14.50 a head. Would not recommend this Hotel for Afternoon Tea.

I came the week after Easter and found this clean, friendly and professional hotel a welcomed retreat for 4 nights - and dog friendly too. I was lucky and had a sea view room, which was very nice. My travel companion chose a cheaper single room, non-sea facing, which was too dark and dingy for my liking. Overall, I do recommend staying here. The staff are great and the hotel has aspirations of decadence. For my mind, the (separate) restaurant was too expensive and the food not good enough; my bed was far too soft and the decor needed a general refresh. The pro-doggy ethos (a rarity here as Cornwall presented as quite dog-unfriendly), the honesty bar, the breakfast, the warmth of staff, the mid-afternoon cake, the location and view will ensure I return. Well done.

Booked on a whim to sustain a short break and taking advantage of a lowered price. Recommend the sea view - fantastic. Complimentary afternoon tea with cake, excellent breakfast, free parking. All bases more than covered. Does try to flog you many things though - from teddies in the bed to wine in the room to art on the walls.

A lovely well kept hotel. Extremely friendly and helpful staff. Very relaxed atmosphere. Free afternoon tea which was a bonus. Quality rooms which were extremely comfortable and well set out. I had two issues with the hotel. One being the parking which was limited . The only way to overcome this was to a reserve a parking space at a cost of approximately £5 a day. Secondly although there is an option to have an evening meal, the menu is limited which is a great shame as the food was very good. This is especially annoying as it is a long walk or drive into the town.

We stayed for two nights we found the hotel to be a perfect location for us. There is a carpark in which a space could be reserved for a fee which is fine as parking in Cornwall can be a challenge. However realizing how close the train was this might have been a better option. We had breakfast both mornings which was cooked to order which was really nice. The service was very good. We had the evening meal which was probably one of the best meals we have had in a while. The room was clean and serviceable had a great view (at a added cost). All in all we had a great stay here and the afternoon tea was a nice touch and free !! Was most welcome given the weather for a pre bank holiday!! . My criticism would be the bathroom needs a uplift and more pressure on the hot water supply. We used a groupon voucher in conjunction with our stay. But i would say that there normal tariff would be fair price for the hotel . Thank you Hotel Penzance

Wonderdul place to stay and very accessable to scilly islands and other sights. Great beds and linens, friendly and accommodating staff. I took a car hire from here to see the land around. Very beautiful area. I would definitely stay here again.

We stayed for two nights while visiting local friends. Room was nice with a lovely view of the sea and the bed very comfy. Breakfast was good with a reasonable choice of food. Staff were very friendly, helpful and welcoming and the whole place had a nice atmosphere. If I was being picky, I'd say the bathroom while spacious, was rather tired looking but everything was super-clean. We'd be happy to stay again but it is quite expensive so I don't know.

Lovely hotel nice friendly staff and spotless everywhere. Very warm and welcoming, fire in reception very warm. Room 8 has lovely views and was pretty quiet, your always going to hear people mooching about but stayed in places a lot more noisey. Robes supplied clean and appeared newish, however no complementary shave kits, toothbrush etc Only fault is breakfast. A nice array of fruit and cereals if you like that for breakfast, I am more of a full English chap. Day one I was amazed at the portion size very small more suited to a borrower, and just warm, not hot borderline sending it back and waitress was informed. Day 2 was better heat wise but again not hot just warm. We were also told “there are no mushrooms today as we have run out” firstly you shouldn’t run out as you know how many people are booked in, secondly there is a shop nearby. Maybe something should have been offered as an alternative. The toasters should be regarded in the same way as a Spanish sunbed get it in early and expect a good 5 mins to brown it. It’s fine and location is ideal just a few mins from rail station and edge of town. Didn’t eat meal in restaurant as we like to explore so cannot comment. For the price we paid it was the top of its money, we have stayed in better hotels at a lower price.

Having arrived late due to the train being delayed we were met by a very helpful man who couldn't have made are late arrival more pleasant and relaxed.shown to our room which had lovely views over the town and harbour in the background (not docks).Everything was excellent staff, rooms and the food was excellent .A wonderful place for a base we WILL be back .
