We are on the tail end of a very long trip and found this place to be the dirtiest and most poorly maintained of any place stayed for years. We were driving the Natchez Trail Parkway as a last minute decision and as it turned night we decided to stay close so we could resume the trail in the morning. Traveling with 2 med sized dogs limited our choices. The once nice propery had very soiled carpets, dirty tub, poorly cleaned corners, peeling paint inside and out, no coffee. Great front desk reception. This propery is in keen need of owner involvement ASAP.
Seems like there is only 4 hotels in this town. Sounds like this was the best. They could save money by lowering water pressure. Lobby was filled with smoke smell. Rooms very basic. Beds not that great
Definitely a local feel to this lodging choice. We got there at night and it almost resembled a quiet tailgate party, with multiple people bbqing and sitting outside with the families. The room was very large and clean. The furnishings were worn but clearly usable and, again, very clean. The breakfast nook was in the main office. Again, a very local feel and a great deal of Southern Hospitality - which made this breakfast experience, otherwise forgettable, a nice one to remember.
I do over 300 hotel nights a year and I must say this is the worst property I've stayed in. The carpet is gross , the towels are thin and like sandpaper, the mattress is comfortable but stained just like the comforter, the tub is slippery and dosent drain, " it's amazing what I overlooked after working in the sun all day and just wanted to sleep. The staff is very friendly on a positive note , " at least the lady that checked me in and the housekeeper." If this is the best hotel between the two in town please drive to Corinth MS
Clean rooms, clean beds, staff was friendly made sure we had everything to make are stay comfortable, recommended a great place to eat just up the road! We will stay here again. Just about everything you could expect out of a Inn on the highway
I just stayed at the Victorian 10/25/2016 as it is one of the two motels available in Iuka. It is definitely the nicer of the two choices in Iuka. While the rooms definitely showed their age (primarily in carpet wear and a little paint peel in the bathroom), the bed was clean and comfortable and the overall cleanliness of the room was very good. The wifi connection was a little sporadic and my iPhone didn't hook up in the room at all but the front desk was very helpful and reset the router a couple of times to help the overall situation. The MOST impressive attribute about this motel came on the morning after we had checked out of our rooms. My sister accidentally left her Apple iPad in her room but before we had been gone 2 minutes, her cell phone rang. It was the front desk letting her know that the cleaning crew had found her tablet while changing the beds in her room. We immediately turned around and retrieved her iPad. The cleaning staff went to a lot of trouble to ensure that my sister was contacted so that she could get her tablet back and we were greatly appreciative and impressed by their honesty and efforts to make the situation right. Suffice it to say that if/when we return to the Iuka area we will definitely stay again at the Victorian, primarily because of the warmth, honesty and integrity of the motel owners and staff. In this day and age it is exceedingly rare to find folks like this and we will continue to give them our business and recommend them to anyone else who happens to be traveling in the Iuka area and need a place to stay.
The lobby was the only acceptable area. The clerk was rude and uninterested in renting a room. And she was the manager! NO CELLPHONE SERVICE. FORGET IT. THE SMELL OF SMOKE IN THE NO SMOKING ROOMS. NOT ANY OTHER hotels in area. Nice e location! Nice outside. They sbould pay customer5t9to rent. Seriously ppease update or close yur doors. More like a a NOTEL HOTEL. Go up the highway to Corinth for a nicer place. About 15 miles is worth it.
I thought this was a great place to stay at,it was clean and very comfortable bed to sleep in. To me it appears to have been renovated.for the price I would not complain.when I get back through this way I will stop again..........................
This place passed tired several years ago. Stained carpet, sheets are thin and blanket disgusting. Bugs in the bathroom that seem to come from the peeling linoleum corners. Old T.V. and the room smelled of disinfectant that seemed to be poorly covering old smoking smells. Tired, needs re-do just doesn't cover it. I didn't want to stay in Corinth (18 miles away) but never again here.
One year ago someone wrote a review saying that the hotel had been newly renovated. I had stayed there one months before that July 2012 review. I do not know the source of that review but it is suspicious. We recently stayed again because it is local to our family. This stay was far below expectations. All we really expect in a small town hotel is immaculate cleanliness and basic, adequate repairs. We were in room 118. It is really, really bad. Above the tub is a ceiling tile that is very moldy. ALL lamps in the room were worn out and the shades on the bedside wall were shredded. The carpet was dirty and the bathroom floor was dirty. (I was able to get it much cleaner with a wet wash cloth.) At the bedside table there were lots of bits of stuff beside the table that could have been vacuumed. The beds were comfortable though the sheets were in bad condition (but clean). The air was cold. (Very nice.) We're taking time to tell you that we hope Victorian Inn will invest a little in itself. It is so cute from the exterior and the people are so nice. We would much prefer to stay with you than in Corinth, Pickwick, or Florence. There was an ickier experience on the 2nd night. Roaches! Help us, please!
