Great find clean, cool room and great value. The hotel is in the heart of the buzz but not noisy really great position for Mezquita and eating places. Small and you get good service and a chance to try out your Spanish if you dare !
This hotel is seriously like 30 seconds from the Mezquita and super close to everything you'd want to see in Cordova for a highlights trip. But, metal doors are loud, can hear everything from the front desk and kitchen clanging things arounds all night and early morning, can hear people through walls and in courtyard, can hear every little noise, beds uncomfortable and air conditioning was worse than when it started cooling down outside. Bathroom won't cool down so you sweat just trying to brush your teeth. But, for a budget hotel it's not bad because it's so close to everything.
This hotel is in a great location, only a minute's walk to the Mezquita. Staff were friendly and speak good English. The room was small but clean. Breakfast is limited; only toast is on offer, with tea/coffee/juice. A great budget choice.
If you have come to Cordoba to see the Mezquite and experience something of old Andalusia then this is a very good choice. The entrance to the Mezquite is about 50 feet away. You will fine a couple of old houses with their central courtyards cobbled together to form a little hotel with most modern comforts. (I'm always amused when some complain that hotels like this are 'dated' or 'old fashioned'. Of course they are - this one dates from about 1400. Anyway, its spotlessly clean with white marble floors and modern bathrooms. These were, of course retrofitted into what was originally an old house so the shower stalls are quite narrow with glass doors that open and close at right angles to one another and could pose a problem for folks who are broad of beam. Twin beds are a little narrow and the foam mattresses a little soft but I found them comfortable enough. There is an old fashioned key operated safe in each room and the room doors are key operated too. TV has Spanish channels only. Largest courtyard has been glassed over to form a pleasant breakfast room offering a continental breakfast of coffee (good), fresh orange juice and toast with pate, tomato or strawberry spreads. Four and a half euros. Nothing special but perfectly adequate and served by a friendly staff. Check in and out no problem. Staff speak limited but adequate English. Ground floor rooms attract some street noise during the day but the area is quiet at night. There is a small elevator and most areas seem accessible. Parking is a couple of blocks away but why anyone who is not a local would even think about driving in the narrow, crowded, cobbled and confusing maze of streets that is Old Cordoba is beyond me. Cab fare from the train station is 8 to 10 euros. This is a clean affordable choice right in the middle of the action and if perfect for a two or three night stay
I loved this hotel very much, the rooms have an oriental design with a lovely interior design for the hotel, plus the location of the hotel is great it is in the heart of the city center only 2 minutes walking from the famous mosque in Cordoba.
The reception staff was very friendly and helpful. We arrived early in the morning and they stored our luggage until we could check in later in the day. Since we were leaving early the next morning, the night guard prepared breakfast for the five of us. Very kind, since breakfast is not officially served until two hours after. The room was very small for three people. We could not even open the suitcases. The bathroom was also very small. The location is perfect and since we were staying only one night it was a perfect spot for us.
The hotel is located right in the city centre of Cordóba and the Mesquita is only a one minute walk. The area is quiet at night but there are tons of nice shops, bars and restaurants close by. The rooms, but also the rest of the hotel is extremely outdated. Not only the furniture but also the sanitary was very old. The bathroom was big but looked a bit dirty. The room was really to small to accomodate three people. There was hardly any space to walk and put the suitcases. The breakfast was also very minimal. This was maybe due to the fact that we were with a very big group and had to leave very early. Still I would have liked some choice instead of just one breadroll, butter and orange juice. The hotel was quite noisy because all rooms are adjacent to the courtyard. The courtyard was lovely though, a really nice place so sit and read a book.
We chose this hotel as it was in the old centre of Cordoba, within walking distance of the experiences we wanted. That’s exactly what we got: perfect location – walk out the front door of the hotel and one is ready to set off on foot exploring in any direction. Very unpleasant to drive into the centre, seeking the hotel and finally come to a stop right next to the cathedral. Just like Granada: another extreme driving experience. While I sat in the car hoping not to get arrested as pedestrians milled all around, my wife went up a side street to the hotel and they helped us get sorted (they’d told us to do it that way). Their secure indoor parking is about 200m from the hotel. Our room was quite small, but very clean, comfortable and adequate. The hotel's decor was lovely. The staff were friendly and helpful. Entrance to the main cultural attraction – the cathedral/former mosque – was one minute’s walk from the hotel. Thank you Hotel Los Omeyas.
The hotel location is perfect - very close to Mezquita. The room was spacious, but the mattresses were really soft and bed creaked. Breakfast is very simple. We had a room close to the entrance and at night it was a little bit noisy.
The hotel is in an excellent location less than one block from the cathedral. The staff at reception are welcoming and helpful, providing advice on restaurants and sites. The hotel is quaint; much thought and effort has gone into decorating the public areas. Beds are only so so for comfort and wifi was sometimes a bit wonky, but these are not big issues for a three night stay. Only real negative was the low water pressure in the shower.
