I don't normally stay in hotels, as I prefer the flexibility of self catering, but there seems to be a distinct lack of hostels in this town, and with no apartments within my price bracket this seemed to be the best choice. The rooms are pretty basic, which is what you expect for this price, but comfortable enough.. A kettle in the room would have been nice, but you can buy a coffee for just over 1 Euro at reception. You can also order breakfast for a little more. I chose not to as none of the options were gluten free, going to the supermarket up the road instead. The hotel was fine for me and has a great location, but is definitely not disabled friendly. There is no way a wheelchair would fit in the very small lift, much less navigate the stairs up to reception. I guess this is an old building though and to some extent goes with the territory. The bathroom was fine, although getting in and out of the corner bath/shower was a bit of a struggle and the shower curtain didn't fit, resulting in puddles on the floor. The staff were very helpful though and the location, in a lovely square 10 minutes from everything was perfect.
We couldn't fault this hotel for the money we paid and taking into account it was a 1* hotel. The location was great near lots of attractions. Our room was on the 4th floor facing the square. The room was dated but a good size and the bathroom was large and modern. Both were clean. Breakfast was basic and came in a plastic box although we only paid €3 each for it so can't really complain for the price but if we stayed again I'd skip breakfast and go to a local cafe. The only real complaint would be that the reception staff could be a bit friendlier and informative. None of the ones we met looked happy in their job. Would I stay again......possibly but mainly for the location.
The best in Hotel Boston is its location; right at the most central city’s square and quite closed to the main Cordoba’s monuments. The commodities are closer to two-star hotel although some improvements must be considered: the WIFI (almost inexistent at the desk and completely inexistent in the room); the water flux (almost no hot water when many guests take shower at same time). The price I paid was quite low. Enjoy!
This was our first visit to Cordoba and the location of our hotel was perfect. The hotel is located on the main square and at the time the Christmas markets were in full swing. We had great views across the square and as the windows were double glazed there was no problem with noise. We had 2 rooms booked and both were fine. The WiFi was good but breakfast was average. It is an old hotel but its location and quaintness make the stay worthwhile.
I stayed at this hotel for 1 night, and got incredible price value. The day before, I paid 3 times as much for a very bed hotel in Seville, and was surprised to find Hotel Boston as cozy. It was actually twice less expensive than any European hotel with a private bathroom I've been to, and the quality was stunning.
This hotel was quaint and had three times the space of and Paris hotel I've ever stayed. It's in a excellent location and my room was immaculate. I overlooked the square for 3 days and it couldn't have been nicer. I've stayed in the Ritz and the staff were just as accomadating. One block from amazing shopping..step out the hotel and amazing food..10 min walk to the Mezquita. The staff was so friendly and warm. I will stay here again. Some of these neg comments are obviously from people you can't please.
First the cons: beds were on rollers which moved when trying to sit in bed to read etc. The bathroom is quite small but manageable. Rooms were dull and could have done with a coat of paint to freshen them up. A lift was available (very small) but only if you had luggage. Pros - fabulous location, within easy walk to everything and lots of cafes, taxi rank etc. Staff were very pleasant and helpful. Free baggage storage is available. No problems with wifi in the rooms. Pretty cheap for the location and 1 star. Breakfast was basic but adequate and reasonably priced - getting the same in a café would cost 3 times as much. Room had 2 single beds and was a good size room
the good: the location of the hotel is amazing. right at the center. now for the bad: the room was tiny (we stayed with two small children) even for two people it would have been crowded and very dated. the day was hot so we looked for the AC controls in the room. to our dismay, we couldnt find any. asking at the reception I found out that its central! the corridors reeked of smoking but luckily the rooms didnt. the wifi was non-existent outside of a small square near the reception. at least on the first floor it was unusable. the bathroom looked nothing like the photos displayed here and not in a good way(though it was clean) the single employee at the reception was hardly nice and seemed very uninterested in answering our questions. When i asked for the safe key (yes, they are that old) i was told id have to pay 50 cent for it. Which is definitely not a lot of money but why charge for it??? this kind of approach towards amenities definitely corresponded well with this spartan hotel. The breakfast was pretty horrible as well with no choice at all. just a couple of buns and stale croissants with butter. It wouldnt have been so bad if I hadnt paid 160 euro (!!!) for one night (weekday) at this hotel. Although its marked with 1 star I would have expected quite a little more from a hotel that allows itself to charge this much. In short I would never recommend this hotel to anyone and will never return no matter how good the location is
Stayed for 3 nights and can not fault. It's a one star budget hotel over looking a plaza tendillas where you can find plenty bars and eateries within a short distance. Staff were pleasant throughout my stay and helpful, my room was a average sized for a single room although the bathroom was quite small for me but I coped. Soap and shower gel were provided and the Wi-Fi worked perfectly for my stay. Quiet room and a comfy bed. Breakfast was not the best ever but filled a gap. 10 min to station and 10/15 lazy walk to historic centre.
The management appear to have no pretensions to market their hotel as anything other than it is, a budget hotel in an excellent location. I stayed for 6 nights in a single room that was a bit small but adequate. The bathroom was very small and it was difficult to move in the shower tray without knocking something down, and I am not a big person. However, there was plenty of hot water and good quality towels. The staff were very helpful and pleasant and the room kept need and tidy. There was no way to control the heating so I found the room to warm and needed to open the window to regulate the heat. I did not notice a great deal of noise, as other contributors have complained about, even with the window open. With the window closed there was no noise at all. I assume the heater becomes the air con in summer and you will certainly need it in Cordoba, I believe it is the hottest city in Europe. I developed a bad back whilst in Cordoba and as it went away as soon as I left, I now realise it must have been caused by my rather uncomfortable mattress. Obviously, I could just have been unlucky and others maybe fine. All in all, no real complaints.
