Spruce House is a hand built, two story log cabin over sixty five years old, located on our 320 acre Alaskan homestead. It blends rustic charm with modern necessities including running water, heat, electricity, and septic. Ideal for large groups, it has eight bedrooms with seven queen beds and one twin, plus three full bathrooms. Across two stories, three bedrooms and one bathroom are downstairs, with five bedrooms upstairs. The full kitchen and multiple living areas make gatherings easy.
This is a working homestead where chickens, turkeys, free roaming dogs, farm equipment, and ongoing land work are part of daily life. If you are looking for a quiet rural Alaska experience, you’ll fit right in. If you are expecting a resort-style experience or are uncomfortable around animals, this may not be the right fit for your stay.
Wrangell Mountain Homestead was built in the 1970s using timber milled on site. It sat empty for over a decade and is now being actively restored by our family. Some areas remain worn, rustic, or unfinished.
We are located in a remote part of Alaska surrounded by forests, fields, and wide open skies. The nearest towns are approximately 30 minutes to Chitina, 1 hour to Glennallen, 1 hour 45 minutes to Valdez, and 2.5 hours to Kennicott.
Rates may vary between booking platforms due to differences in fees and service charges.
