The room smelled terrible - like fish processing and urinal cakes with an overlay of Lysol. The smell was so saturated in the bedding that we had to wash our pajamas before we could wear them again. The individual shampoo containers were half empty or less, suggesting that they were recycled from previous guests. The spare toilet paper was stacked on the toilet plunger.. Aside from a bed, the only place to sit down was two folding chairs. Our advertised "mountain view" room gave us a great view of an external stairwell.
Only book this property if nothing is available! Drive 50-75 miles but avoid this property.
This is an older but well maintained motel. Staff was helpful.
The room was very spacious. Didn’t use the stovetop or oven in the room, but it’s definitely a nice option for meals. The key box option for obtaining your room key after office hours was also a very nice option for late arrivals. I would definitely stay there again!
We've stayed here for the last 3 years on our fishing trips to the Kenai and every year we've loved it. Super nice owners. We will be back every year we go down to the Kenai to fish.
The staff was friendly and kept us alerted with wild fire conditions. Unfortunately, we did have to leave because of the smoke in the area, but the staff was understanding.
This motel was clean, comfortable, functional and a great location. This is nothing fancy, but the beds were nice with simple and attractive bedding, a working stove, microwave, coffee maker and sink. The bathroom was nice with good shower pressure and hot and cold water. The blackout curtains were great, too. The location is ideal, next to a small grocery and close to our charter ramp. The staff was friendly and helpful wth information. I would recommend for an economic stay.
It fit us perfect with 3 beds. But the satellite tv wasn’t working so they rented us a free movie. The place is a little outdated but the staff was great.
I am giving this an excellent rating, not because it is the best place I have ever stayed in, but because the staff made every effort to make our stay as pleasant as possible. The rooms were clean. Huge selection of dvds available since the tv service wasn’t working. The view of the mountains was amazing. Robert even got out a spotting scope so my kids and I could see bear and doll sheep on the mountains. I would stay here again.
Great location, very helpful staff. My room was on the 1st floor. Any move on the 2nd floor can be easily noticed. I had been waken up both in late evening and very early morning.

We are sorry you had a bad experience. We always strive to please our customers however, when we fall short it is disturbing. No one is allowed to process fish in our rooms. The rooms are clean as many of our other guests say the rooms are clean. I will contact the manufacturer regarding the shampoo container. We do like to leave some extra TP in the room incase a guest runs out. Thank you for telling us that having extra near the toilet is a bad idea. Other guests love the view of the mountains in front and behind the building. I will review this with the cleaners and make necessary changes as needed.
