Casual hikes in the wooded areas surrounding the cabin add to the relaxation. Even a splash in the stream for kids or dogs adds to the fun. One level means no stairs and easy access for everyone. Located just a short drive to Ohiopyle, Yough Lake and other area attractions. Plus a 20% discount for stays of 7 nights.



After a fun day of adventure, a fully equipped kitchen with BBQ grill close by means you can whip up a meal. Don`t feel like cooking? There are plenty of great restaurants located around the area. Great Cabin in the Woods

Really enjoyed the stream flowing in the backyard and the porch. Beds were suitable, but the one bedroom is extremely small, even for a teenager. This place was terrific for our one-night stay to visit Fallingwater (about 24 minutes away).

A wonderful stay!

We loved this cabin retreat - the kitchen is well stocked with appliances and pots/pans so we were able to cook many meals in house. My son spent hours each day in the creek fishing and exploring. The location is great; close to Fallingwater, Laurel Caverns, the natural water slides, etc. Overall, we would definitely come back and stay again.

Lovely stay in the woods

We had a wonderful time at this property. The house was perfect for what we needed and included any amenities we were looking for. Everything was as advertised. We spent a lot of time outside around the fire pit, and our children loved going down to the creek behind the house and swinging in the tire swing. It was close enough to things like Ohiopyle Park, Fallingwater, and Laurel Caverns, but still enough out of the way to feel secluded. Thanks for a wonderful visit!

The perfect little cabin getaway

This charming cabin is located in a beautiful area near a creek. It's got plenty of space for kids to play and explore. The cabin itself, though on the smaller size, still fit 4 adults, a kid, and a dog without feeling cramped. It has a beautiful morning room attached near the back that gazes out upon the creek mentioned earlier and provides a wonderdul sense of peace while relaxing and having your morning cup of coffee. The property owner was wonderful and very responsive as well. We hope to visit this property again when were able.

Nice stay

We really liked the view from the porch and the short nature trail. Just a few degrees warmer (we stayed in 30 degree weather) and we would have enjoyed the porch furniture. Inside the main house we enjoyed playing games and reading by the warm gas fireplace. The kitchen is small but well appointed. The cabin has the feel of an old family homestead. Very nice and convenient to many outdoor activities nearby.

Quiet cozy cabin

Great getaway

Had a lovely time exploring the property, the cabin was cozy and kitchen had everything we needed to cook our meals. Location was nearby to hiking, waterfalls, a small town. Recommend and would absolutely stay again!

Ohiopyle Family Vacation

We were looking for a quiet, cozy place to call home for a week and came across the Bear Paw. With the creek in the back, the large front yard, an awesome tire swing, and the ability to bring the dog this one was a winner. Sharon was great in providing activity ideas and suggestions and was always responsive. We plan to return!

Relaxing and peaceful stay

We had a very good experience staying here. The house was very clean and had plenty of towels. The tv and cable worked great. There is a well stocked kitchen if you want to cook, utensils and pots & pans etc. We did lose electricity one night but just went to bed early. I would like to see the smell addressed coming from the cold water tap. My husband works with water/wastewater, so we noticed it immediately. The well should be checked and there are ways to address that matter. It can be fixed easily. The hot water was fine. I would just use bottled water in coffee maker. The bathroom door should lock for privacy that would have been a plus. Other then those 2 issues; it is a beautiful property and worth the stay. My husband spent hours on the front porch. My son loved the stream and all the tv channels. We were within an hour of everything we wanted to do. We will probably be back one day. The beds were all comfortable. My son didn’t want to leave! It is a nice little house with a lot of privacy and low noise level. The sound of the stream is so calming. If you want to get away from the city or just to relax it’s a perfect place. We have stayed in a lot of houses and this is one of the best rentals!

Surrounded by nature, close to Ohiopyle and Fallingwater

The Bear Paw Cabin was the perfect size for our family of 4! Staying here gave us room to spread out compared to a hotel room, we enjoyed sitting in the cozy den and the back room surrounded by windows and beautiful trees. Also really liked sitting on the porch. Our girls loved walking on the property and especially the tire swing. It was a nice drive to Fallingwater and great to also be close by to Ohiopyle State Park (we enjoyed Cucumber Falls). Be sure to get reservations for Fallingwater weeks in advance. We drove into Uniontown for more dining options and for some groceries which was a bit further drive. We enjoyed celebrating our daughter’s birthday in your cozy cabin surrounded by nature. (We would have loved to play the cornhole game too but we had rain. Next time!) Wi-Fi worked great in the house. Check in and check out was easy and Sharon stayed in touch to answer any questions. Beautiful area! Thank you for the memories.

Overnight get away

Nice relaxing evening, went to ohiopyle for a 5 mile hike, than came back had dinner, and enjoyed the porch and peaceful evening, got up went for 6 mile hike than back to relax before leaving, overall lovely place , just as advertised, would definitely go back!

Great 3 bedroom cabin

Clean and cozy. Great little cabin and property. Kitchen had everything needed to cook for family of 4. There were even more appliances than I have in my own kitchen. Shower was still hot even after 4th shower. Great outdoor firepit area with seating/roasting sticks! Short drive to Ohiopyle where we went white water rafting. Would definitely book this cabin again.

Perfect Vacation Getaway!

We really enjoyed our stay! Plenty of room for 3 adults and 2 large dogs. Yard was perfect for the dogs and it was so nice hearing the stream from inside the house. We even used the fireplace as it got a little chilly. Warmed the cabin right up! Enjoyed seeing both Kentuck Knob and Fallingwater. We will definitely be visiting again to explore more of the area!

Long weekend

This cabin is accurately depicted. My husband, 3 kids and 2 dogs fit perfectly...but we spend a lot of time outside. Convenient location to the attractions without being right in the middle of it. The ONLY negative is the road is busier than I expected. There is a tree line and the cabin sits off the road a bit, but I was uncomfortable with my youngest and young dogs outside alone at all.

Wonderful cabin and property

We loved staying at this cabin for a week. Very comfortable, great location, great property. Check in and communication with the owners was easy. The kids loved that the creek ran right behind the cabin and made boats to race. We will definitely be staying there again.

Early November 2022

We were so excited for our stay! Such a cozy cottage and it was exactly as pictured. The property is beautiful and the location is so convenient to Ohiopyle State Park and Fallingwater. We noticed the gas fireplace did put off a gas smell. We let it run for 20 minutes because I know it can be common if it hasn’t been on for a while. The smell persisted so we turned it off. The Comcast cable remote was missing two buttons on the directional pad. If you really squeezed your finger down where the buttons used to be, you could get it to work. Because of the sun going down at 5:10pm during our stay, we did actually spend some time watching tv. Otherwise, we may not have even turned the tv on. Should be an easy fix to have Comcast replace it. As we got ready for bed, we did notice there was mold on the ceiling of the bathroom and the shower. This may be something that could be remedied quickly with a good cleaning. Unsure if the mold was just surface or if it was deeper. The biggest disappointment for us was the King bed. As I laid down, I immediately knew that the bed was terribly uncomfortable. It felt like laying down on a 30 year old box spring. If the owner sleeps on that mattress, he must be tough as nails. I’ve stayed at many hotels and vacation homes and I’ve always been fine with whatever firm or soft mattress they may have had. We had booked two nights but after dinner on the second night we decided to come home early. Driving the short 2.5 hour ride home to sleep in our own bed was the right choice for us. If the King mattress is replaced, we’d love to book this cabin again.

No food storage in kitchen. Traffic noise by fire pit. No bridge over creek as picture showed in cabin description, could not get to the rest of the six acres of property The sun porch was very nice for reading ,sewing or playing games. The gas fireplace in the living room was soothing and heated up the room. The property was very nice. We took a couple of short hikes on the available property and that was enjoyable. We liked the location, approx 18 miles to Grantsville and approx 18 miles to Confluence. And Ohio Pyle, town was not far away also. We did enjoy the outside fire pit, very much. We tried to ignore the traffic as much as possible. We were able to find a good place to purchase the firewood that was along Mae West Road. Overall if was a very nice 10 day stay for my wife and I.
