The people who work here go out of the way to assist you at this basic inexpensive lodging. Hoa (Flower in Vietnemese) was particularly helpful. -Motorbike rental still 120K VND per day from a selection across the street. You may be missing a mirror and they may need a gas fill up first thing. -There is a sheet metal shop across the small street so it will be a bit noisy at 7am weekdays. Otherwise the location is good. -Rooms super clean. Some sewer gas smell and gurgling from the drains at times so keep the bathroom door closed. Hot water for shower was ok. No shower stall. Air conditioning was good. -No room safe -No Beach towels. We bought some cheap towels at a nearby shop. -Balcony on third floor seems open to all guests but we had it to ourselves at sunset near our 3rd floor room. Also good for drying wet clothes. There is a private balcony on a room on the second floor. -They sell beer and water by the reception desk, but it was not very cold so we bought it elsewhere and used the mini fridge in the room. You pay at the end of stay for any charges incurred. -If you use credit card to pay you will incur a 3% up charge. -We were told they can provide some food if you let them know but we walked a short way to Villa Maison for a great breakfast each day. -The hotel arranged our transit from and to the airport for 50K VND a person. May new hotels being built in this area.

This hotel is perfect if you want a cheap budget hotel for your time on the island. We were staying 4 nights and backpacking so this suited us perfectly. Staff friendly and helpful, explaining the map of the island to us on arrival. We rented bikes for 120'000 vnd per day. We had a balcony which was lovely to sit out on an evening. There was quite a lot of noise/ singing on the street one evening which went on until around 2am. Staff were apologetic about this and reassured that they would contact the police as there is a noise curfew on the island after 10pm.

------- ENG: From the first moment, Ving has offered us a perfect and close attention: advising us on what to do and helping us at all. We are very pleased! The rooms are very comfortable, clean, spacious and well maintained. We could not have found better accommodation: we would repeat and we would advise anyone who comes to Con Dao! Thank you.

We stayed at Lighthouse Hotel for 5 nights & we had a fantastic time on the island, but unfortunately for us the hotel let us down. It seems to be a hotel where Vietnamese come for a short stay & this is a great place to do this. We weren’t prepared to pay 5* prices & therefore this is where you finish up. Con Dao has very few western tourists & there is very little infrastructure in place to cater for the tourists which suited us fine, but I must admit it would be lovely to come back to accommodation that you know is at least going to have a functioning bathroom & television that worked. This is not necessarily a case of you get what you pay for, we felt we paid middle of the road prices & when you stay in an island you expect everything to be a little more, but unfortunately we felt we were let down a little this time. The markets were amazing for breakfast, we ate at a few local places but we really enjoyed the atmosphere at the promenade of an afternoon & found ourselves eating with the locals from little food stalls there. The local people were so lovely & wanted to help anyway they could, we enjoyed the interaction with them despite the language barrier. We would return without hesitation, a little wiser next time.

We stayed at the lighthouse boutique hotel for four nights. The room was clean, the bed was not the most comfortable one and at the beginning I found the idea of the shower next to toilet a bit strange, but we got used to it. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Although we sometimes had struggles to communicate, they were very helpful and made everything we asked for possible. If you don‘t want a luxurious stay at Con Dao I can totally recommend the lighthouse boutique hotel.

We arrived very early and had requested a room with a balcony. It was not available yet so had to wait till afternoon Xien did get us in earlier than expected which we were grateful as we were exhausted. Pro: Clean, friendly staff, had use of the kitchen to make breakfast which we ate on the small patio outside. Lots of hot water and good wifi. Lan was helpful too arranging our airport transfer. Con’s: Room was not cleaned daily, there was occasional odd smell from the bathroom. The toiletries were minimal however we didn’t ask for more. The safe consisted of a closet with a key to lock it. Considering the overall apathy of the locals it didn’t seem a big issue to us once we got a feel for the place. Room Tip: Ask for a room with a balcony, some other rooms have huge glass windows that open up for all the world to see. Clearly not very private and no other windows for lighting was evident to us.

We had a lovely stay at the lighthouse 'boutique' hotel! For the price the rooms are clean and spacious! But they are basically no frills minus the air con ! But they are as advertised! The team are really lovely! Especially the family who work there the baby is adorable! We rented a motorbike and arranged our airport transfers with the team all very easy and cheap! Only real down side for me was no kettle/ tea and coffee in room especially as hotel doesn't do breakfast! The hotel could make a few improvements in my option: - continental breakfast - tea/coffee perhaps self service in reception - mini bar price list - plain shower curtain (look classier) - beer in mini bar But good hotel for price- location very good for restaurants !

A lot of spider like bugs were running around floors, tables and our bags. Not good. Staff was super friendly and they help you to rent cheap scooter which is a must if you wanna see the island. Only minus with staff was that they gave me water bottles when i checked in and tryed to make me pay for them me after checking out - I thought they were part of the deal. Lost in translation I guess. Ok for a price, def not a “boutique” hotel, just a hostel.

We stayed here in November and saw the room before we booked it so we knew what to expect from the Lighthouse/Hai An Hotel. This is a very good guest house/hotel with a strong price/quality/location ratio. Remark: The new rooms are funny with one side consisting fully out of glass but the curtains do their job very well so do not worry. These rooms are very clean and the bed is really good and soft which is quite rare when we talked to other guests and travellers in Vietnam. The airco is working perfectly and the bathroom with the tiles is very well done. The staff we met, did not speak english (at all), but google translate will be your intermediary during your stay. They can also help you in finding a motorbike. Overall this is a very good stay in Con Son/Con Dao for those who value very good basics, but do not expect to much frills.

Re-branded as the Lighthouse Boutique Hotel. Modern, clean rooms and very affordable. Great location near the market, as well as the best Western restaurants on the island. The nearest beach is a 15 minute walk away as well. Friendly and accommodating staff, though only a couple speak some English. Only minor grievance regards the housekeeping - we stayed for 5 nights and the room could have been more thoroughly cleaned. The beds were made, but no linens changed during our stay and we had to ask for more soap/shampoo as it was not restocked. However, these could most likely addressed if housekeeping was asked directly. Hotel charges 100,000 dong/day for motorbike rentals, which is very reasonable. Highly recommended for a stay in Con Son.
