My husband, myself and my twin toddlers booked this place for hurricane evacuation. We choose it due to advertised in room separate seating and on site playground. We felt this would be great for two toddlers however on arrival there was no playground and no place for there ever to have been one. The hotel looked terrible and the separate seating area was none existent. The rain leaked through the door and the room was dirty. The worst was when we found a dirty pair of underpants under the bed. I would never go back there ever again.
Avoid this place at all costs.... The place is an absolute DUMP - the facility is filthy, the rooms are cheap, ill-maintained and poorly outfitted..... The staff is no help at all in either comprehension or assistance..... We had a reservation for a King size bed but when we got there were told we were in a 2-bed room.... they made no effort to work out a resolution,,,, We left as early as we could the next morning but when we went to check out no one could be found.... We kept ringing the desk bell (very high-tech) and finally, someone showed up in what looked like a night gown and appearing to have just woken up.
We had reservations but when we got there it was horrid! Crackheads patrolling the parking lot trying to bum a cigarette before we got out of the car. Shopping carts parked in the walkways where the homeless were caching them. That was as far as we went. Even though it took a few more hours to find a place far out of town it was worth it. Sleeping under a bridge would be a step up from this place.
My husband and I were here for a friends party and it was a horrible experience. when were getting intimate a roach decided it wanted to climb on my husbands leg, at that point I was to through and I was ready to go! But my husband urged me into staying the night until the morning so we did and when were sleeping on those nasty sheets were heard what appeared to be women talking and when i looked out the door i saw what appeared to be prostitutes walking back and forth from this sleezy motel to the Hardees located in the front. No one should ever stay here unless you are a crack head or prostitute or DHEC! i warn no one to stay here!
I stayed here at this property in January to come and see my fiance, but this hotel was very nasty. I looked under the bed and saw beer bottles and other junk that should have been cleaned up. The bathroom was not well cleaned at all. The hotel was very run down and has not been completely kept up. I have no plans of ever staying here again. I would rather stay at a LaQuinta Inn, a property by choice hotels rather than stay here. The housekeepers could do much of a better job at cleaning the rooms and the owner could do much of a better job at keeping up the hotel. The hotel was not in a nice neighborhood at all and on top of that there were also pot holes in the driveway. I would not stay here and I am telling you that you should not stay here at all either.
DO NOT BOOK FROM THE PICTURES!!!! THIS HOTEL IS A WRECK!!!! located off a side road where there are NO LIGHTS in the parking lot. When i pulled up at 10pm the front door was locked and had a side window, once they confirmed I had a reservation they allowed me in, which had a musty smell. Reserved a first floor room with 2 beds cause i was travling with family and one person who had a bad back and leg and told them this several times and stressed it, upon arrival at 10pm, they had told me they gave my room away because I was late, I bit my tongue. Upon checking into my "room" which looked a total wreck, that had the smell of chain smoking (non-smoking room) and also had a strong smell of weed. I was in the room for about 10min, turned the A/C on first and then looked around the room. I found the paint on the door was pealing off, paint of the wall was chipping, and the bathroom looked like it wasn't cleaned in months, black spots, hair in the tub, shower curtain with mold, and the A/C was blowing hot air. That was it!!! I went down to the "drive-up window" had to wait to make sure I was staying in the hotel, then was allowed to enter. Told the person that I was checking out for these reasons, told me that being I had already checked-in and was more then 10min, that he was going to charge me the night. I told him that he could look at the room and see that nothing was messed up, but told me it to was late for him to do anything. I called Best Value the next day and told them about the problems and asked them for a FULL refund, they told me that there was nothing they could do and that I should have just stayed the night being I was being charged. PLEASE LADIES AND GENTLEMEN!!!!!!!! PAY THE LITTLE BIT OF EXTRA MONEY AND STAY A LITTLE FURTHER AWAY FROM FT. JACKSON...
OH MY GOD!!! Non smoking room. It smelled like a chain smoking truck driver's butt. The carpet was STICKY. Mismatched touchup paint on the green metal door and the the caulk encrusted poor air conditioner. Burn marks on the edge of all the furniture. The lobby smelled like curry. We came in late and the desk clerk behind the plexiglass (bulletproof?) front cubicle took a while to wake up. She was there when we checked out in the morning. My bet is that she lives live back there. Do yourself a favor. Sleep in a sleeping bag by the sanitary district. It'll smell better.
We just stopped overnight at this hotel on our way up north. For $50 a night, the room was clean, everything was in working order, and the bed and pillows were comfortable. And the gentleman that checked us in called our room about 10 minutes after we got in just to check if everything was ok and if we needed anything. Nice touch.
The room wasn't bad but the bathroom was infested with both large roaches and waterbugs. One perticular waterbug was on top of the toilet in the morning and decided to sit there so I grabbed my phone and snaped a photo of it to warn everyone.
