Private Yard w Mountain Views, Walk to Old CO City

Summary:

Beautifully restored 1890s ranch home in the heart of Old Colorado City with big Pikes Peak views and an incredible multi-level backyard with hammocks, fire table, and a large upper deck above the home. Walk a block to coffee, ice cream, shops, and Bancroft Park, or drive minutes to Garden of the Gods, Red Rock Canyon, Manitou Springs, and downtown. Three comfy bedrooms (2 kings), full kitchen, fast Wi-Fi, AC, plenty of parking, and amazing private outdoor spaces make this such a great home base.

The Space:

Built in the 1890s and thoughtfully updated, this single-level 3 bedroom, 2 bath home is a piece of Colorado Springs history with some amazing Pikes Peak views.

Inside, you’ll find:

• Open living & dining: Bright, welcoming living room with plenty of seating, large windows framing the mountains, and a 58" smart TV for movie nights. The dining table seats six comfortably.

• Full kitchen with a view: Cook while gazing at Pikes Peak. Granite counters, quality cookware, baking essentials, coffee maker, and the basics (oil, salt, pepper, coffee).

• Laundry Room: full size washer and dryer and foosball table!

• Three comfortable bedrooms

• Bedroom 1: King bed, TV, dresser, closet, and ensuite bath.

• Bedroom 2: King bed, TV, desk/workspace, closet.

• Bedroom 3: Queen bed, desk/workspace, closet.

• Two bathrooms

• One with a walk-in shower.

• One with a tub/shower combo.

Outside really shines (our current photos don't do it justice):

• Large upper deck perched above the home with lounge seating, hammocks, and a gas fire table facing Pikes Peak.

• Staggered seating areas across the two-tiered yard, so everyone can find their own spot to read, chat, or sip something cold.

• Lower patio with dining table for six, extra chairs, string lights, and a generous fenced yard with xeriscaping and open sky.

At 1,774 sq ft, there’s room for everyone to spread out, reconnect, and soak up those Colorado sunsets. We hope you'll love your stay here!

Guest Access:

Guests have private access to the entire home and yard, including:

• All three bedrooms and two bathrooms

• Full kitchen and laundry room (washer & dryer)

• Two-level deck and backyard with multiple seating zones, hammocks, dining, and fire table

• Large driveway and covered carport parking (please park in the driveway rather than on the street, per local permit rules)

Guests do NOT have access to the locked garage, shed, and a housekeepers closet inside.

Self check-in is via secure keypad; your unique code will be sent before arrival. Exterior security cameras are located at the front door, garage, and shed for safety and to monitor the property’s exterior only.

The Neighborhood:

The home sits just off the main stretch of Old Colorado City, one of Colorado Springs’ most charming and walkable historic districts.

Within a short walk you’ll find:

• Local favorites including Story Coffee Company, La Baguette, and ice cream at the Creamery

• Casual cafés, great BBQ, breweries, cocktail bars, and speakeasy-style spots

• Boutiques, galleries, seasonal farmers markets, and frequent live music at Bancroft Park

We love that it feels quiet and peaceful at the house while still being steps from food, drinks, and shopping. Garden of the Gods, Red Rock Canyon Open Space, Manitou Springs, and the Pikes Peak Highway are all just a short drive from your front door.

Getting Around:

Ours is a very walkable neighborhood so feel free to leave the car parked and wander Old Colorado City on foot.

Approximate drive times:

• Garden of the Gods: 5–10 minutes

• Red Rock Canyon Open Space: 5–10 minutes

• Manitou Springs & Manitou Incline: 10 minutes

• Downtown Colorado Springs: 10 minutes

• Pikes Peak Highway entrance: 20 minutes

Ride-share services are readily available, and there’s ample driveway/carport parking if you’re bringing multiple vehicles (6+).

Other Things to Note:

• Historic home quirks: The home is over 130 years old, so you’ll find some old house charm along with a few quirks. Floors are slightly uneven in places, and there are small interior and exterior steps, including those leading to the second bathroom and the upper deck. The steps up to the top deck are relatively steep and can become slippery in rain, snow, or ice. During winter, we provide shovels and sand, and we keep up with snow removal whenever accumulation exceeds 2 inches. Because of these factors, the home may not be ideal for guests with significant mobility challenges.

• Climate & comfort: There is central heat and AC, plus portable fans in bedrooms. As with many older homes, it can take a little time to fully heat or cool the space; please keep windows/doors closed when running AC or heat.

• Cleanliness & care: Our cleaning team pays close attention to detail, and we schedule regular professional pest and maintenance visits to keep the home in great shape. If anything feels less than right on arrival, let us know and we’ll address it quickly.

• No pets: Unfortunately we cannot host pets due to severe homeowner allergies.

• Smoking: No smoking or vaping indoors. Outdoor smoking is allowed only in the designated area; please dispose of butts safely.

• Families: A pack ’n play and high chair can be provided on request, just let us know before your stay.

• Colorado Springs STR License: A-STRP-24-0775.

Interaction with Guests:

You’ll have the home entirely to yourself, but we are nearby if you need anything. We’re happy to:

• Answer questions about the house

• Offer restaurant, coffee, hike, and activity recommendations

• Help troubleshoot any issues during your stay

To start with they didn't acceprt a Discover card. The mgmnt. said it was VRBO VRBO said it was mgmnt. Then when we arrived the door code did not work but they did answer the phone and resolved the issue quickly so kudos for that. Overall the Mgmnt. company handled their business good. Now the property side of things. The Fireplace that was listed in the amenities was boarded over so unusable. The outside area was decent but definately aged. The upper deck and sitting area were nice except for the fact that about 5 feet fronm you were the neighbors and constant people talking and carrying on with noise. Not private at all. The view was ok if you sat back far enough to not see the hjouses in front of you. Some lights did not work in the outside area. In the house now. It was very clean just dated doors going out the back were old and did not always shut without some work. Back entrane was very low if your 6' or above duck is all I can say. The ceiling fan in the living room we were unable to use. According to property mgmnt someone lost the remote. The A/C was ok but definitely not great, one room would be hot other cold. The best part about the house was the location for us. But I would not pay that price again unless they do some work on things around the house and outside area.

We didnt receive the check in code until 6pm, after waiting 30 minutes on the porch and calling and messaging the numbers that were provided. The emergency contact finally responded. It's also a struggle to unlock the front door unless you know the trick of pulling the door tight, and old-house quirk that would also have been useful knowledge. Owner sent a message later hoping check-in went smoothly, likely never reading my messages about the trouble. Good location

The views are stunning! The host really thought of everything. Games to play, plenty of towels, comfy bed and pillows, coffee. The outside patios were my favorite part though. Sitting around the fire looking at the mountains was romantic and relaxing. I would definitely stay here again, and highly recommend it.

We had a fantastic stay. When we arrived, the house was spotless and nicely arranged. There was plenty of room with a large kitchen/dining room, a large master suite, and nicely sized second and third bedrooms. Having two bathrooms rather than one was very nice. All in all, it was a really cool OLD (built in the late 1800s, IIRC) but modernized house. But the best part of the property was the backyard! The solar ground and hanging string lights were a cute addition to an enormous deck with lots of seating. From the deck, the views of Pikes Peak were absolutely stunning. I wish we had been able to see the mountain with snow on it. The property was also a great launching spot for activities. It was only a block or two walk to Old Colorado City and its cool bars, restaurants, and shopping. Garden of the Gods was a 10 minute drive and is an absolute must. The start of the drive up Pikes Peak was about 20 minutes away. So much to do nearby!
