We got a suite for a very reasonable price and it was amazing. Huge room, jacuzzi tub, and incredible hand made furniture. We love the hotel and would stay here again instead of driving into the Springs. Highly recommend.
Just trying to find the check in was difficult. The room and parking locations were like a maze. The room was clean but no comfortable chair, no view. Stuffy and fan ran all night. It is not family friendly staff was abrupt if you weren't gaming they did not have time to be bothered. Would not recommend or stay there again. No breakfast. It is clear they make the room uncomfortable so you won't stay in it.
We changed rooms to a room with a view after spending two nights at the hotel. On the day we changed rooms we watched them clean room our requested room at noon. And they made us wait until 4 to check in. Also we were gambling at the machines and had to wait forever before we got a cocktail. We will never be back and we do not recommend this place. Nick at reservation desk wasn't friendly and Chip the casino manager had a real chip on his shoulder......
Our room on the 3rd floor was all that we needed for a one night stay. It overlooked E. Bennett Ave where the buses stop and load, although the engines idling did not bother us with noise like I thought they might. (We didn't have our windows open.) The room was clean so there were no complaints there! The bed was comfortable in room 304. Note that there is not a desk for laptop computing, etc. and electrical outlets were scarce since it is an historic building remodeled. The only funky thing was the small sink/mirror area being right behind the bathroom door so one guest could not easily get ready while another was coming out of the bathroom. We played at the casino and it was fun. We only lost a few bucks. They did not provide a refreshment station like some of the other casinos on the street. So in the morning, my husband went downstairs for coffee and actually went across the street for a cup. They could improve on making guests feel more comfortable with refreshments in their casino.
We stayed here on our way back home from Sturgis. The rooms were small but very clean and comfortable. I love historic hotels and really enjoyed this one. It is in the middle of the street with casinos everywhere. I had a great time on the slot machines and my husband went across the street to Bronco Billy’s and won at the roulette table. Only disappointment was I missed the donkeys. This is an awesome town!
Nice get-away and beautiful drive to the west side of Pikes Peak. Clean rooms and great hospitality which offers an awesome value. We love the Suites with the in-room Jacuzzi to relax and kick back for a movie. They give you coupons for meals and overall good prices... Going back again soon. :)
Small rooms without many amenities, but OK since you are not there to spend time in your room. I always bring pillows from home since most motels have very few flat pillows, but didn't need to use them here. The bed was soft and comfortable with good pillows. The room was very clean, I didn't mind walking around barefoot, which I rarely do in a motel. Was grateful that the housekeeping staff respected the Do Not Disturb sign we hung on the door. I have been to several motels where they still knock to see if we need service. The front desk staff was friendly and helpful. The only inconvenience was having to check in next door at McGills and having no direct access to our room. Would be nice to have an exterior elevator to guest rooms so you don't have to carry all your belongings through the casino.
Old historic building with very modern rooms. Nice and clean. Larger room than expected for such an old building. Bathroom was large. Only problem was the walls are very thin and can hear the people in the next room.
On 1/24/19 around 245am a key manager cursed a old man vacuuming the floor. The old man was vacuuming doing his job the key manager George unplugged his vacuum and told him you get the f##k out of here. I heard the employee (the old man) tell the key, sir I'm just doing my job. The key said I told you to stay away from here with that racket now I said get the f##k out of here and don't come back. WE WILL NEVER COME BACK!! I have never heard anyone curse an employee like that in my life. WE WILL NEVER BE BACK! HOW AWFUL!
I reserved a room here for my parents because we were in Cripple Creek celebrating their anniversary and my mom's birthday. It was the only place that had a smoking room available so, although the room was smaller than expected, it served its purpose. I did have to go speak with the hotel's front desk though because the champagne and balloons I paid extra for wasn't waiting in the room as promised. The staff were quick to remedy the situation and my parents were surprised & very happy. My husband and I stayed in a different hotel that gave us complimentary champagne & balloons so we felt pretty spoiled but my parents enjoyed their night here and my mom was grateful that she didn't have to go outside every time she wanted a cigarette.
