Conveniently located for visiting Farewell Spit Nature Reserve and Wharariki Beach. Comfortable clean accommodation with free wifi and good service. Across the road from the Courthouse Cafe which is where we had breakfast. Our hosts Sylvie and Darren were very flexible with our requests and communicated well in the lead up to our visit. Highly recommended and will visit again.

Great place to stay with very friendly and helpful owner who told us the best beaches to see and swim and where not to because of currents and tides! Everything we could want we had in our garden room and would definitely recommend to anyone planning a road trip around the South Island.

Lovely owners, and a nice place tucked away. Very quiet. Not fancy, but clean and well maintained. Internet reception is pretty good. Laundry available for a charge. The area is beautiful. We'd stay there again.

We stayed two nights in both a garden room and a room in the main house. The reason for this was we had to bail out on the Heaphy walk a day early due to the 300mm of rain that fell over the weekend of 21/22 January. The owners could not have been more helpful in taking us a day early and letting us get all our trek washing done in the laundry. The garden room had a good little kitchenette which was fine for a simple dinner and light breakfast outside in the sun. Next day we we're able to BBQ for a simple dinner. The room had lots of space and when you've been on the road a few weeks it's great to be able to do your own meals rather that eat out (again!). Clean, well maintained accommodation, lovely helpful owners.

A delightful place to stay a while when visiting Collingwood. Very helpful hosts at this historic property located in nicely kept grounds that visitors can enjoy. My garden motel contained all that was needed and had French doors opening to a private deck onto the garden. Close to the beach front and shops. Recommended.

Modern facilities in an historic building, (decommissioned Police station) sensitively updated. Our particular room had no kitchen however fry pan was offered and we found the Bar B Q more than adequate for our needs. I believe the cottages do offer cooking facilities. Darren and Sylvie were excellent friendly helpful hosts with a good knowledge of the area.. A great spot to stay and explore the surrounding area including Farewell Spit. Comfortable well presented and situated in the town.Would certainly stay here again.

We only stayed here for one night with another couple, but had a good stay. The kitchen was small, but had everything we needed. Everything was clean and there is a beautiful garden right outside the front door. The beds had electric blankets, which my girlfriend definitely appreciated. The location is great right in the middle of Collingwood - only a short walk to the pub and the store. Only downside for me was that the mattresses on the single beds seemed a bit old and were lacking in support, but for one night not a big deal at all.

Stayed in unit 1 for one night after visiting Farewell Spit. Very clean, comfortable and great value for money. Comfy bed. Very friendly service. Just perfect for our needs. Beautiful sunny room. Wouldn't hesitate to stay again.

Very friendly welcome. We rented cottage no. 1. Very clean. Nice big bathroom and shower. The sun was streaming into our room and we could open the doors onto the verandah. It was just lovely sitting in the sun. Would definately recommend. Has a lovely charm and the bed was very comfortable. Enjoyed a morning cuppa in the sun. Hosts were very informative.

This was a safe haven on a wild, wet, thundery night. The bedding could be improved especially the old cottagey beds in the small bedroom were too narrow for comfort, suitable for children but not adults.
